I normally can't stand this game 99% due to the combat system, I needed to beat it as painlessly as possible for the 1.5+2.5 remix and for story. I used your speed running method to help make this game playable for me, thank you so much. still took me 4x as long as you but I wanted to insure I never had to worry about failure.
This is my favorite KH game because of the card mechanic. There's so many different ways to beat a boss, maybe your health is not high enough, maybe there's a special sleight you haven't obtained, maybe your CP is too low to make a decent deck, maybe you don't have the best deck for the current situation, or maybe you just need to... git gud Whenever a boss gave me a problem, i knew that i could just make an OP deck based on their weakness and that would be it (Which is what i ended up doing with Axel 2, because he's a bitch), so the game never get's truly frustrating, and yet, it's not so easy that it ends up being boring either. Yes, it's easy to break the game, this speedrun is proof of that, but it's also your choice if you want to do so. In the end the card mechanic ends up being it's own difficulty regulator, you can make the game as hard or easy as you want, and i think that's awesome. I wished more games had this kind of freedom, kind of like Shovel Knight by letting you destroy your checkpoints. Plus, the story is really good, that helps a lot, and i love cards, because i'm a nerd.
this was extremely helpful in speedrunning the game to get the other 2 sora run trophies (normal and beginner for me), though some things I did differently were using xigbar instead of demyx since xigbar affects both blizzaga and firaga (and in the order of worlds here can be gotten a world earlier) and using 18 blizzards, 9 fires, 2 mega ethers and 4 cures (mega ether + cure x2, twice). The mega ethers (from hundred acre wood sky dive minigame, don't even need to get a high score, just finish it) really help keep up the firepower since they restore all spell cards, even the normally unreloadable ones. Thanks again and congrats on the run
Okay, obviously it still worked out for you, but seriously, when you were failing to get a moogle room, why didn't you just spawn a Roulette room? The first one you got came from a random roulette drop, you could have turned right around after opening it and spawned a roulette room for a second one.

Cool stuff. I myself got 3:25 (last screen) recently.
Is there somewhere to see the top 5 times for this game, including WR?
How did u get so many blizzard cards?
Curious if you still play this game?
im surprised you can even speedrun a game like this given its combat system.
