Hi! Most of the shops outside of the Grand Bazaar are factories (some would mention on the sign as ' fabrika ' (factory) or ' toptan ' (whole sale) the wholesale shops, so it's cheap. Even shops in Etiler , Maçka or Teşvikiye buy their goods from there. For the same thing, people pay 10 times more in those suburbs; it's nicely presented and also some people do not have time going to Grand Bazaar area just for shopping. Not only clothing but other shops are wholesale as well outside of the Grand Bazaar. I know it's the tourist area because of the Grand Bazaar, which is as you've mentioned the oldest shopping centre but also I think possibly the biggest as not possible to see all the shops and area in 1 day as contains 4000 shops and workshops, but it's the cheapest in Istanbul. However, inside of Grand Bazaar is not cheap and some prices are even as expensive as in modern shopping centers. Grand Bazaar have some whole sale shops and workshops (atölye) where those shops in modern shopping centers buy their stuff from😀.
What a good idea to look for the shops that say factory and wholesale! Thanks for the great tips! It is funny to see the least expensive and some of the most expensive shops so close together, but you're right if you look hard you can definitely find some great places!
I’m in Istanbul currently and was wondering if Grand Bizarre to Mahmut Pasa Carsisi and Spice Bizarre are all walking distance of eachother ? Are they interlinked ?
Yes! They’re all walking distance from each other, and there are so many shops in between that they feel connected. My mouth is watering just thinking about walking through the spice bazaar again, enjoy some samples for us 😋! Have a great time!!!!
Hi I am going soon to Istanbul please let me know what is the best most good quality and reasonable places to buy ladies long cardigans and ladies kaftans
A lot of places in Istanbul took card, but at the markets there were several cash only places. We brought some cash from home and converted it once we made it to Turkey.
It depends on which area you decide to stay in and how long you decide to stay for. We stayed for a month, so we got a good monthly discount. Public transportation is super nice and easy in the city too, so it can be worth staying in a nicer place a little further away and taking the metro. You can get a nice place walking distance from a lot of the sights for around $300 a week.

The area was pretty touristy, but definitely worth it to see everything. Next time I would probably stay around Moda, it is cheaper, less touristy, and has lots of good food and cute shops! It is further from all of the major sites, but public transportation was pretty easy!
People that have money always wanna go somewhere else and cry down vendors by making them sell it cheaper, would you sell your stuff cheaper? 🤔 it's 70 cents for goodness sakes

Great work! Loved it 😍
And also love your dress and earrings 😍.
Thanks so much Nicole!!!! My mom actually got the earrings for free with a purse she bought 😂 I love them too!
I was thinking the same when I saw it 😀I mean the dress and earrings.
The most beautiful & informative vlog about grand bazar I have ever across on UA-cam
Your comment made my day! I appreciate your support. 😁
Love!!!!
😁
Another great episode! Love getting to see the Baazar
Thanks so much girl! We did too!!! We walk through the Spice Bazaar anytime we're nearby now, to get more samples 😂
Are there rug shops outside the grand bazaar affordable in USD?
Yes! Although you may have to look a little harder to find them.
One of my favorite affordable rug shops we saw was in Cappadocia if you're visiting there too!

Hi! We found reasonable prices and quality wandering the streets outside the Grand Bazaar.
Did you take out money to pay? It could you pay most places with visa/debit card
A lot of places in Istanbul took card, but at the markets there were several cash only places. We brought some cash from home and converted it once we made it to Turkey.
Can you negotiate everything? Including the spices and food in the bazaars?
It's worth a try! We didn't negotiate with the food in the Bazaar, but we didn’t buy any spices I feel like those would be more negotiable.
nice
Thanks :)
How much is for a nice AIRBNB? It is close to downtown or a long drive distance? Thanks
