I just came across this video the other day.. I've been contemplating how to rise my Detolfs for awhile now and was set on Capita legs from Ikea but in the back of my head wanted them higher.. then boom saw your video and went straight to Lowe's for lumber. Super simple super easy and sturdy. Definitely a smarter choice over a tv stand from ikea or any other kind of particle board stand.
I've been trying to figure out the best way to make a base for a couple months now and this helps a ton in simplifying it! My ceiling is so low in the basement that I have no choice but to make a custom one to fit my needs, but this eases my worries a lot, thank you!
Great set up and figures. Question about the lighting, I saw your video about it and wondered if you're going to have a plug for each Detolf going into a power strip, so a total of 5 plugs?
I used 4 2x10 boards and 1 2x12 board. The 2x12 was for the vertical (height) boards. I didn’t mention the exact size of the riser as it depends on how many detolfs you have and how big you want to make it.
Not sure off the top of my head. Might be close to 80” wide. Whatever 5 detolfs next to each other measure out to and then 1-2 inches extra on each side.
Hey bro what weather seal are you using, my detolfs have been getting a bit dusty lately. I like the color of the seal, it create a nice black frame around the detolf. Thanks in advance

Yes I have 5 power adapters going into one power strip. I have the power strip plugged into a smart outlet so I can control all 5 at once on my phone.
What sizes did you cut the wood? Your description says you need only one 2 x 12 board, but it looks like you'd need at least four...

Why 4 2x10?? Not 2?
What size did you cut the vertical boards. I want mine the same size as yours..
@@joshuaadjei5773 2 on bottom and 2 on top
@@joshuaadjei5773 the size of the 2x10s put together, so about 19 inch
Looks great, what did you use for the back of the cabinet?
Its open in the back.
Great piece! What was the length of the 2x10’s for 5 Detolfs? 75 inches?

You can also find it at any hardware store.
I peaved off in uk they dont sell the black no more
What black color u pick? Is it matte/semi-gloss.?
I went with matte
use a gel stain.. sand it down very well....use an 80 then finish off with a 200
No need for that, IKEA have enough stuff to achive the same
Their weight limits don’t come close to holding the amount of weight so it’s risky. Plus they are particle board
