Nevil was an old man in the second fight, and the better fighter in my opinion, as he proved in the first fight, and he was an un-assuming man....
Pearce - a Traveller - really was the Welsh Rocky Marciano. He would obviously have been an underdog against Big Frank, but with his tenacity, guts and hitting power, only an idiot would say Pearce had no chance.
Why did Lawless not let Bruno have a go at these two. I know he was cautious, but Bruno would have murdered these two.
Because both had a punchers chance and after the scare against Jumbo Cummings they didn't want to risk Bruno
Bruno had a dodgy chin, most of his fights were handpicked, ONLY taking risks in championship fights, usually ending with Bruno knocked out.
