- Sit Up vs Crunch, know the difference. A crunch is an isolation exercise that targets your abdominals. It has a short range of motion with only your shoulders coming off the floor while your lower back stays down. A sit up is a compound exercise where your entire upper body comes off the floor. It targets multiple core muscles including hip flexors as well as abdominals.

I use to perform in crunches form while aiming to perform a full sit up, I don't use any weight to support my feet but I push my abdominal to its limits to reach a sit up in a crunch form.
Damn hurts like hell after a few reps
I try doing situps but I cant raise much like in the video but only a little is it ok or I need to improve on my form

As long as you feel the tension your abdominal muscles and don't feel any discomfort after several reps, then it's good
(Update: the workout is super effective after a year if you keep it up regularly with healthy diet, I now have visible and functioning abdominal muscles)

Sit ups is so tough exercise
You can't actually do it with free feet unless your torso is significantly short compared to your legs. Not everyone has the right genetics for it.

Dont do situps do crunches instead, situps fuck your lower back up, i learnt the hard way.
yeah they destroy your tailbone and theres nothing you can do about it, plus to train until failure with sit ups means you usually end up hurting your neck and back cus the last reps kind of force you to ruin your back form

The crunch is superior since we aren’t aiming to train the hip flexors and they will tire - resulting in less efficient ab training. Also, crunches are easier on the back since sit ups have been proven to induce lower back pain in some people. You’re welcome.

A compound exercise is generally done by people who are used to Isolated exercise meaning generally its a higher version of Isolated exercise and usually targets more than one Area or Muscle group [it's highly tiring for novice and also don't make visible changes quickly] if you want to tone you abdomen and upper lower portion together and are willing to give time than sit up is best for you .
@@RatanRajput2005 situps remove tension from the abs while in a more upright position giving you a bit of rest on the muscle mainly worked and therefore less intensity (not optimal for hypertrophy in the abs)

@@chadren7249 no they won’t be it’s like you apply 1 N force for 1 unit area and in crunches it’s somewhat force equal to target area (somewhat like 50 N force applied to 60 units area) but in sit up you are applying supposedly 50 N force but it intensity is distributed in 90 unit area so it’s unbalanced but in longer run it’s making both abdomen and thigh development simultaneous.

Ok so dont do any one of those, because they actually damage your spine, and makes it weaker. Instead, do cycle exercise, that is way more effective than sit ups or crunches
