Karpathos Island Cinematic 4K Aerial video. A presentation of the Island in the summer of 2023. It's been 3 years now that a friend of mine Dennis talked to me about Karpathos Island and that he spended 5 summers in row and that sparked my interest in this place. So this summer of 2023 I decided to visit it. I stayed for 4 days and I visited as many places as I could. Karpathos is not a small island and the road network is not the easiest to drive. I started from the north and I moved up to Avlona by car and after 1.5 hours hike I arrived to Vroukounta an ancient area with ruins and tombs of an ancient city. The main reason I went there was the church of St. John a very beautiful church in a cave right next to the sea. And of course the Roman pool with sea cool water an amazing sight and that alone is a reason to visit the Island. Olympos village is in my opinion the most traditional village of all Greece were the people living exactly the same as 60 years ago and preserve their way of life unchanged to this day. I also visited Mesochori, Lefko, Finiki, Arkasa, Pigadia, Aperi, Othos and Menetes to name a few. Also beaches like Apella, Kira Panagia, Amoopi, Afiarti and Michaliou Kipos. Of corse there are many more places and villages to visit and many more things to do like a cruise to Saria and Kasos. The two Islands at North and South witch worth visiting and are part of Karpathos.
I believe Karpathos at East Aegean is an Island with its own character with very nice people and traditions, beautiful scenery and a lot of choices of deferent transportation to go. I see now why my friend went there for 5 years in a row. I will definitely go again. I would like to thank a couple from Italy offered to participate when I was filming in Olympos.
For filming I used a DJI Mavic 3 drone and an insta360RS 1 inch camera.
