    A little tip I learned that is very helpful when painting. Take painters tape, sticky side up, then tape down the ends. This way you can stick down your project without it moving but, easy to remove when your project is dry.

    Good video. I love using tissue paper in my art. Probably my favorite...especially weird tissue paper. I'm really glad you're not one of those "and then you're gonna". We're artists and having someone tell me what I'm gonna do is insulting. BTW when I make faux leather I use some vegetable glycerin in it after the crumbling as it makes it softer, your hands too. You have a nice online presence. Good channel, good job. You're a breath of fresh air. I used to live in AZ about a decade ago when I went to U of A for grad school. Oh I use matte medium not mod podge. Yikes I blabbering on forever!

    • @TerrasTake
      @TerrasTake  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Joan!!! Thank you so much!! I love it, don't ever feel like you can't "blabber" that's why I'm here, to make me some crafting friends!!! 🥰I've never tried the vegetable glycerin, I'll have to do that...it sounds like a cool addition!! I haven't used matte medium for something like this either, so I'll give that a go! I know there are certain aspects of mod podge I love and those I don't, if I can find something that works better for me, then all the better!! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and my company...I know that may sound odd, but it certainly is an interesting feeling to put yourself out in the public eye, and to have people actually enjoy your company and let you into their homes is a huge deal!! And I don't take that for granted!! I hope I never tell anyone what to do, but if I should accidently do that, please know I didn't mean you couldn't do it your way, 😊 I believe as artists, we all have our own spin on the project, and that's what makes them all so special, unique and beautiful!!! I look forward to hanging out with you some more!! And if you ever have tutorial suggestions, please feel free to let me know! I'm always looking for new ideas!! Thanks again Joan, it's really nice to meet you!!🥰 Terra xx P.S. Now who's blabbering!!🤣🤣🤣

    So interesting. 🫶 I’m in the process of creating faux leather and the colors that I chose are brown, blue and gold. I didn’t search for this video and I didn’t tell anyone what I’m creating faux leather. I’ve never tried your method. I’ve only created faux leather from Whole Foods Bags, water, conditioner and brown ink pads. I sealed it with a collage glue and It turned out so beautifully. Now I’m interested in seeing other methods. 😊

    Hello! 👋🏼I’m new here. Actually, pretty new to the “Junk Journaling world in general. I’m currently in the process of beginning to make my very 1st Junk Journal! I’ve gutted the book I’m going to use, have been making tags, journaling cards, etc and now I’m just trying to get all my papers together for the signatures. Anyways...UA-cam recommended one of your other videos, the makeup one, which was awesome. I saw a video where Pam used makeup in a similar way. I RARELY wear makeup these days and when I do, it doesn’t really ever include eyeshadow. Needless to say, I have an EXCESS amount that I can play with, can’t wait to try using it for backgrounds like you did! But today I’ve been making buttons out of books pages and now a bookmark for my Mama’s birthday while your videos have been playing in the background.
    When you started talking about Walmart pans Aldi, I had to pause and leave my 2 cents. Lol. I shop at Walmart A LOT (I actually have a Walmart only credit card if that tells you anything) and have noticed the prices increasing over the last few months. My favorite cereal went up in price almost 50 cents over a week’s time. 🙄 It irks me, more than irks really. Butttt... I’ve come to realize it’s not just Walmart. Amazon, even Aldi has went up on various things. I will say, Aldi is an AMAZING place to shop if you’re on a budget or just a frugal, thrifty, bargain shopper like myself. Lol. And they have tons of “knock offs” of brand name items that for the most part, taste just like the originals. My only complaint with Aldi is that their stock often varies. Quite frequently I’ll have several of my favorites (like their Cinnamon Streusel Coffee Cakes 😍) on my list and I’m LUCKY if I walk out with all of them. Last time I went they were completely out of stock on one of my favorite cereals in BOTH versions. I was devastated! 😭Lol. Oh and then there’s a few things to ALWAYS remember when you’re going shopping at Aldi: 1. Make sure you have a quarter to get a cart. You can always get change inside but then you have to walk in, wait, walk back out. Ain’t nobody got time for that! 2. Make sure to bring your own bags. The reusable type -fabric or plastic ones, brown paper bags (out of your hoard of Junk Journal supplies 😆) or even plastic bags from Walmart. Basically don’t forget the bags. It gets expensive buying their bags each time you go. 3. If you did forget the bags, or only had 1 or 2 with you, look out for large empty boxes. You can use those to put your items in so you’re not wasting money or theirs.
    Omg. I just realized how long this comment is. 😳 I’m so sorry! Lol. You probably think I’m cray cray. In which case, you’d be correct. 🤣 You’re just lucky I didn’t expand on the Walmart topic, my Ma worked there for many years so I could go off on the subject. Haha. Anyways...nice to meet you and thank you for sharing!

I started this channel for the purpose of making friends and spending time crafting with them just as you described!! Thank you so much for telling me about our time together crafting!! Also, your first junk journal is gonna be awesome, don't stress at all, remember any mistakes made can be implemented into your design, hidden, or utilized! It's a wonderful imprecise art form that you can go anywhere with!! Blessings Love!!!🥰😘 Terra xx

      Gina, you're a very special person, I can feel your heart in all that you write...and I'm sure your paintings are wonderful...I would love to see them!! You know, I'm thinking of starting a Facebook Group where we can all post our art, no matter what it is, so that the members of our little family here on the channel can see what everyone else is doing...It's in my heart, because I really want to be able to see the artwork of my new friends, whether it be junk journals, or paintings...
      Singing...that is my true anointed gift from the Lord...it's the one I have walked in since I can remember, and no amount of bad life choices ever took it away, because it belongs to Him. He has preserved my voice through everything I've put it through...it's a long testimony, but I'm sure you know what I mean, we all have something or things that He has saved just for Himself, like your painting...You'll hear me sing eventually, I can't help myself, but I don't want anyone to ever think I am showing off, because I only use my voice to praise His name. Thank you so much for leaving me such a sweet and loving message Gina. I really appreciate you and I look forward to knowing you better.💝 Terra xoxo

It's always worth mixing your paints up and make up your own tones and shades so much fun doing that trust me! Use can make your own oil paints using pigments and sunflower oil but it takes ages to dry like any other oil paint plus you would need to add say a pinch of salt or drop of viniger keep the life span on it plus the rich colour. I need to get around to trying this. I’m thinking of using tissue on fabric with the fabric Mod Podge to see if I can sew up a bag with it. I’m curious. One way to fight air bubbles is to use a stippling brush like for stenciling. Pounce the Mod Podge. It will keep the texture but for the air bubbles out.
