  • Outpost Harry was a remote Korean War station located on a tiny hilltop in what was commonly referred to as the "Iron Triangle" on the Korean Peninsula. This was an area approximately 60 miles (100 km) north of Seoul and was the most direct route to the South Korean capital.
More than 88,000 rounds of Chinese artillery fell on Outpost Harry. Since the outpost was defended each night by only a single company of American or Greek soldiers, the Chinese had anticipated an easy capture. Over a period of eight days, waves of Chinese forces moved into the outposts trench lines and totalling over 13,000 soldiers. Five UNC companies, four US and one Greek, took turns in defending the outpost.
Most of the fighting occurred at night, under heavy mortar fire, while the daylight hours were usually spent by the UNC forces evacuating the dead and wounded, replacing the defending company, sending up resupplies and repairing the fortified positions. The daylight hours were punctuated with artillery, mortar and sniper fire, making repairs and reinforcement a more dangerous task. During the 4 to 5 days prior to the initial attack on the outpost, Chinese artillery and mortar fire increased from an average of 275 to 670 per day during daylight hours.
The soldiers of the Greek Expeditionary Force adapted its name and called it Outpost "Haros", the modern Greek equivalent to Charon, Greek mythology's ferryman to the underworld of Hades.
The Chinese forces employed against Outpost Harry were tabulated by U.S. Intelligence Sections:
June 10 and June 11: one reinforced regiment (approximately 3,600 troops)
June 11 and June 12: one regiment (approximately 2,850 troops)
June 12 and June 13: one reinforced regiment
June 13 and June 14: an estimated 100 troops
June 14 and June 15: an estimated 120 troops
June 17 and June 18: one regiment.
During this period the entire 74th Division was utilized against this position and at the end of the engagement was considered combat ineffective. Rounds fired in support of their attack amounted to 88,810 rounds over 81mm in size: UNC mortar and artillery units in conjunction with friendly tank fires expended 368, 185 rounds over 81mm in size.
    Casualty figures were
    15th Infantry Regiment - 68 KIA, 343 WIA, 35 MIA; KATUSA - 8 KIA, 51 WIA, 7 MIA;
Greek Expeditionary Force, Sparta Battalion - 15 KIA, 36 WIA, 1 MIA.
    Attached and supporting units 5th RCT - 13 KIA, 67 WIA, 1 MIA;
    10th Engineer Battalion - 5 KIA, 23 WIA; 39th FA - 5 KIA, 13 WIA.
For the first time in the annals of U.S. military history, five rifle companies together, four American and one Greek, would receive the prestigious Distinguished Unit Citation for the outstanding performance of their shared mission.

THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD "the last age in which God saves man from the destruction of this old world"
(In the last days, God become man to do the work He had to do and to perform His ministry of the word. He personally came to work in the midst of the people with goal of making perfect people who had the same attitude. One of the purposes of this incarnation is conquer people, the is to make perfect the people He loves. He wants to see with His own eyes the people He perfects, and He wants to see for Himself how the people He perfects testify for Him. People in this group come from different countries in the world, and come from different nationalities in the world. The purpose of doing so much work is to get this group of people, to get the testimony of this group of the people to Him, and to achieve the glory He can get from them.)
      Almighty God said
In the LAST DAYS, GOD became MAN to DO the WORK He HAD to DO and to PERFORM His MINISTRY of the WORD. He PERSONALLY CAME to WORK in the MIDST of PEOPLE with the GOAL of making PERFECT PEOPLE WHO HAD the SAME ATTITUDE. 🙏
From the time of creation until now, He has only performed this kind of work in the LAST DAYS. It was only in the LAST DAYS that GOD BECAME MAN to DO such a great WORK. Although He endured hardships that men would find it hard to bear, and although He was a GREAT GOD who HUMBLED HIMSELF to become a common man, no aspect of His WORK was delayed, and His PLAN was not disrupted. even a little. He does the WORK according to His ORIGINAL PLAN. ☀️
ONE of the PURPOSES of this INCARNATION is to CONQUER PEOPLE, the OTHER is to MAKE PERFECT the PEOPLE He LOVES. He WANTS to SEE with His OWN EYES the PEOPLE He PERFECTS, and He wants to SEE for HIMSELF HOW the PEOPLE He PERFECTS TESTIFY for Him. NOT ONE or TWO PEOPLE are PERFECT. Rather, it is ONE GROUP, COMPRISED of just a FEW PEOPLE. ☀️🙏
PEOPLE in this GROUP COME from DIFFERENT COUNTRIES in the WORLD, and COME from DIFFERENT NATIONALITIES in the WORLD. The PURPOSE of DOING so much WORK is to GET this GROUP of PEOPLE, to GET the TESTIMONY of this GROUP OF PEOPLE to Him, and to ACHIEVE the GLORY He can GET from them. He does no work in vain, nor does He do any work worthless. It can be said that, in doing so many works, GOD'S PURPOSE is to make PERFECT EVERYTHING He WANTS to make PERFECT. In any free time He has outside of it, He will remove those who are evil. ☀️
You must know that He does not do this great work because of the wicked; rather, He gives His all because of the few people He will make perfect. The WORK He DOES, the WORDS He SPEAKS, the MYSTERIES He REVEALS, and His JUDGMENT and PUNISHMENT are ALL for the sane of those FEW PEOPLE. 🙏
He did NOT become a MAN because of those who were BAD, and especially they did NOT provoke Him to anger so much. He tells the TRUTH, and SPEAKS of ENTERING, because of PERFECT WORKS; He became MAN because of them, and because of them He could grant His PROMISES and BLESSINGS. ☀️
The truth, entrance, and life in humanity that He speaks of is not labored for the sake of the wicked. He WANTS to AVOID TALKING to those who are BAD, INSTEAD He WANTS to GRANT all the TRUTH to those who will be made PERFECT.
But His work requires that, for the time being, He allows the WICKED to ENJOY some of His RICHES. Those who do not practice the truth, do not please God, and interfere with His work are all evil. They CANNOT BE MADE PERFECT, and GOD HATES and REJECTS them. 😪
On the other hand, PEOPLE WHO DO the TRUTH and PLEASE GOD and SPEND their WHOLE SELF in GOD'S WORK are the PEOPLE GOD WILL MAKE PERFECT. 🙏
Those whom GOD wants to make PERFECT are none other than this GROUP of PEOPLE, and the WORK GOD DOES is for the BENEFIT of these PEOPLE. The truth He speaks is for those who are WILLING to DO it. He does not speak to people who do not practice the truth. ☀️
The growth of knowledge and the growth of understanding that He says is aimed at those who can practice the truth. When He speaks of those who will be made perfect, He is speaking of these people.
The WORK of the HOLY SPIRIT is FOCUSED on PEOPLE who CAN do the TRUTH. 🙏
Things like having wisdom and being human are dedicated to people who are WILLING to DO the TRUTH. Those who DO NOT PRACTICE the TRUTH may HEAR MANY WORDS of TRUTH, BUT BECAUSE they are by NATURE VERY EVIL and are NOT INTERESTED in the TRUTH, all they understand are doctrines and words and empty theories, which have not the slightest value for upon their entry into life. Not ONE of THEM is FAITHFUL to GOD; they are ALL PEOPLE WHO SEE GOD BUT CANNOT REACH Him, ALL of THEM are CURSED by GOD. 😪🙏
From "Only Those Who Commit to Practice Make Perfection"

+Peoples Liberation Army You're naive if you don't understand that unification really meant a totalitarian government that would have enslaved millions. I had family members who destroyed communists that attempt to unify their country by taking their land, and freewill away. The communists wanted to make everyone equal by knocking everyone down to poverty. Redistribution of wealth they said...They attempted to break down family structure by taking children away from their parents and swapping with children Yugoslavia for "education". At the same time they protected their own families. They were like ISIS destroying monuments and changing history to better reflect thier socialist agenda. Also choose better language when you type here you disrespectful SJW.

What is interesting is that in all three occasions the respect they earned was from a different source. For example in SK it was because of their fighting valor, in Serbia because of their Orthodox Christian roots and in Afghanistan, the most interesting of them all, because they were decedents of Alexander the Great.

Nice to see veterans and see their bravery. I had my only one grandpa who lived through WW2, civil war in Greece and then Korean war. What a brave man he is my hero and he died so badly at end with blood disease that he had no arms nor legs he said he would of rather died in the wars as a man than they way he went. The thought always makes me cry. My parents moved to Canada for a better life but all I know is that my family all they did for centuries was always be in a state of war. The women were tough too. They knew life was short so they sang and always accepted death. I don't think there will be a generation again like them. Try explaining this to us millennial especially the younger ones. They literally don't care nor appreciate history nor sacrifice most of them.

    just some analysis
THe greeks from 1821 untll 1970s were an agricultural people leaving in mountains harsh lifes but from 1821 untis the 50 were in constant wars every generation of peacefull villages knew they will fight in a war . The officers of the Greeks in the korean war may have fought in WW1 and Turkish Greek war of 1922 the soldiers that were volunteers may fought in ww2 and the bloody civl war . Greeks were using the bayonets cause of the mouintainous terrain more often .
So its explainable why Greek soliders gave that amazing impression to the Americans.
    PS

I had an uncle who fought in korea. He never told me any stories of war; i never asked him; but after the war he became a ship captain and travelled the world. The generation that fought in WW2 and Korea was tough becasue life in Greece was tough back then. The next generations of Greeks were brought up with many more privileges and took many things for granted. I wonder if we still have the same fighting spirit of our grandpas when a fight comes. Let's see....

No, we simply do not. Bad times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, weak men create bad times. It's an uroboros. My Grandfather also fought in the WW2 as part of the resistance and became one of the highest officer in charge of the port of Piraeus before working for Angelicoussis's shipping company. I am 100% sure that I cannot do what my grandfather achieved and endured and that's why I have the greatest respect for both my grandfather and father, but I know that following in their steps is something that I probably will never be able to achieve. I just hope that our kids or grandkids won't have to experience what our grandfathers and fathers did.
