Best of luck! My book on the Rapidan covers the entire stretch. If you get it from Amazon, get the kindle version since the pictures are in color if you view it using the kindle reader on a tablet.
Thank you for bringing back some nice memories of my time in Shenandoah NP back in 1989 . I was going through a divorce and decided to get serious about fly fishing. I thought Shenandoah would be a good place to start and one of the streams I fished was the Rapidan river 9. It was one of my first fly fishing experiences and I must have it on a good day as I caught about 15 native brook trout on a size 16 Mr. Rapidan dry. Most of the fish were around the 9” mark. I also came back about 10 years ago and fished the Rose river in July. The fishing was surprisingly good for summer as I caught quite a few brookies on Mr. Rapidan dry flies. Biggest was about 8 or 9”. A very informative video. Thanks for sharing.
I have only fished the streams in NC except for a few float trips for small mouth on the New River in Virginia. We used to fish Snowbird, Telula, and Buffalo creeks around the Robbinsville NC area. Been a few years since I went. You're inspiring me to go back for a nice trip soon. Thanks Steve for a great video.
Thanks for these videos. I’m relocating to Spotsylvania next month and I’m leaving some incredible fly fishing spots. Once I get settled, I’ll definitely pick me up a book.
Exquisite river!
Thank you, this video was extremely informative! It’ll help greatly when I go up to Rapidan in a week or two

You can't go wrong with a Mr. Rapidan!
I might have fished that canyon about 40 years ago. If I tried it now, I would be found a few days later -- hopefully still fishing 🎣😂
That's the way to go out! I joke with my wife that I keep my SPOT device on so she can find my gear.
I liked the scenery.
Got my Rapidan book today, looking forward to finding some pockets of gold. Really want to knock out a trout slam.
Thanks! I appreciate it
Thanks for the introduction. Beauty looking water. I’ll be sure to check the area out next time I’m visiting my son.
