Man, from this angle, it looks like John buried that second squat, and went right to perfect depth on the third. Obviously you’ve gotta lift to the standards of the judges on the day, but damn those looked good to me!
definitely, the lift looked deep enough from the video's angle, his limb lengths are no so unusual to have major deviation in perception from side angle, pretty strict judging i say.
@@samuelbelle1484 yeah, it's almost in line with knee cap if i imagine where the crease would be as it's not visible front front but maybe a inch more and it would have been white lighted
Just keep at it. Naturally it took me years to reach the 600 pound mark conventially and id say my genetics and leverages were not in my favor. Just train smart and get a good program you can utilize and you'll be there in no time.
Do it for your lift time. You might not become a 900lbs deadlifter but you will be one of the luckiest people who realized their genetic strength ceiling. No need to achieve that number in two years in this game.
You see at 3:17 his knees are pretty damn perpendicular. It looks like his hips are right there at his knees. It's obviously hard to tell from this angle, but I have to agree with you that they were being harsh here.
Is that Joe Sullivan you hear on the left at 5:27? "Fuck you John, come on, move this, asshole. Come on John!" Edit: Yeah it probably was, you can see him stand just left of the camera in the event stream, pretty sure you could also hear him yell "let it settle" during squats
He’s American, he’s white, he doesn’t speak Spanish or anything. If you are talking about his clothes and colors, he always wears Captain America looking stuff representing America.
I'm following in the footsteps of my world famous powderlifting cloth Jathon Blawhaw and I'm doing my own online coaching now, John. I can rep 855 on incline bench without wrist wraps so I think you should consider signing up. But you'll need to hurry, there's only 3 spots left.
I think he got that third attempt... It's hard to tell but he always has a slight hip shift at the bottom so it looks like it's not to depth but it actually is
Your a beast John. Also agree 3rd squat was absolutely low enough. My guess the bar was very wippy and was causing issues. Jamal mentioned that in his video.
If I was John, I’d consider staying at a lower body weight throughout his prep for a competition, so that he would have to water cut less to make weight for his meets. For the last 3 meets I’ve noticed that water cutting for his meets noticeably affecting his performance on squats and deadlift, not so much on his bench. His squats and deadlift look much easier and comfortable during his prep, then he water cuts for a competition and suddenly on meet day he struggles much more with weights he easily lifted during his prep. Maybe his water cuts are a step too far for him.
Trained with the Kabuki squat bar, which is stiffer than the texas power bar they used at this meet. He expected the Kabuki bar to be used. He said so in an interview in between flights.
I’m ready to see a Netflix special on Jon
we need it MAKE IT HAPPEN NETFLIX !

Hip crease not below the knee cap, it doesn't break parallel on the third. I think it's a legit depth call

He for sure buried that squat id love to see the side angle.
Its insane how on an off day john can still break world records and dominate the meet
Lmaoo that "goddamn" at the 5 minute mark on his bench is hilarious. Yeah, he is an absolute unit at bench. It's unreal.
Lol thats was only his 2nd attempt, i was thinking the same thing, cracked me up hearing it from the crowd 🤣
That dude is just an absolute beast. Love watching his lifts.
Congrats to John. Would love to see post-meet interviews with Andy and John again, just to hear their perspectives.
Great job dude
Although the angle is tough to tell. The depth on the third squat looked good to me!
Nice wholesome moment at the end
Ready for another video:)
Thanks for the content
this guy has no chill ... what a power!!
I just want to deadlift his bench…

I'm no judge but that last squat attempt looked like it had enough depth
I assumed they called it for downward motion

John looking all Pimp Daddy at the awarding 😂😂 my guy got drip!
The goat 🐐 .. idc what anyone says. 204lbs and a 2190 total. Legendary

5:42 when you bench 267,5 with such ease they have to check you for a slingshot lmao
I was wondering about that, awesome dude thanks for that
"He has a slingshot"
He has a slingshot built inside of him lol
his bench is sick, dl too
This guy has the quickest and smoothest deadlift set up I have ever seen
Love how he still dominates on a bad day xd
Lol at the background reaction @ 5:01
390kg with a pulled hamstring then goes for 410...Monster
The most beautiful sport in the world.
His bench is ridiculous what a monster
An off day with squats and deadlifts, and he made mincemeat of the record. Damn.

I think John if possibly the biggest freak of all time
Did anyone else see John go super saiyan on the bench at 4:53?
John looking like Platemaker in that getup
Look at de strength look at itttt
For someone to be this strong but also this calm is just insane to me??!! It’s like at the library??!! 😂 GOD STRONG

Amazing power and strenght. Just a quick question, is he from Puerto Rico?

What went wrong on the squats? Where did that shaking come from
What kind of bar did they used on squat?
