    Man, from this angle, it looks like John buried that second squat, and went right to perfect depth on the third. Obviously you’ve gotta lift to the standards of the judges on the day, but damn those looked good to me!

    • @ankitbrother
      @ankitbrother 2 роки тому +4

      definitely, the lift looked deep enough from the video's angle,
      his limb lengths are no so unusual to have major deviation in perception from side angle, pretty strict judging i say.

    • @samuelbelle1484

      Hip crease not below the knee cap, it doesn't break parallel on the third. I think it's a legit depth call

    If I was John, I’d consider staying at a lower body weight throughout his prep for a competition, so that he would have to water cut less to make weight for his meets. For the last 3 meets I’ve noticed that water cutting for his meets noticeably affecting his performance on squats and deadlift, not so much on his bench.
    His squats and deadlift look much easier and comfortable during his prep, then he water cuts for a competition and suddenly on meet day he struggles much more with weights he easily lifted during his prep. Maybe his water cuts are a step too far for him.
