I saw a Post Malone interview and doing that interview, he actually said he's not a rapper, he's a singer.
When a artist is consistently creating good songs with arguably the best melodic flow in the game, he is clearly talented. Give credit where credit is due man. He can sing and when He raps his flow is smooth. Maybe the substance in his lyrics aren't super great, but they are definitely not horrible. Post Malone is not trash... 💯

"the lyrics are meh" The song is literally filled with references to classic rock moments.To rockstars and their movements.At least that what's Posts verse is filled with.

Everyone gets that, but it's just all surface-level. Usually, they're breaking down rappers delivering much more content and depth with their words. That's why people say the lyrics are not great.
It's fine, he's (successfully) aiming for airplay and mass appeal, not to be a great MC.
It's pretty cool to actually look at the lyrics. Like at first it seems dumb but all of the things he talks about in the song are homages to rock bands and other artists in the past (being escorted out of a concert by police, throwing a tv off of the hotel, etc) it's all things people have done that has shaped the "personality" and lifestyle of being a rockstar. Kinda neat I guess

Plus, the reference to Back in Black/Bon Scott “Light my Fire”/The Doors/Jim Morrison. Lyrics have a little bit deeper meaning than just partying.

IV Vodou completely agree man. He seems like such a genuine guy who's got really humble beginnings and he is absolutely overjoyed that anyone likes his music. He's in it purely for himself and that's why he produces such great music. He doesn't stick to a genre to keep fans happy, he makes music he loves and I think that's why I love his music. It varies, but you can always vibe to it.

I understand where you're coming from but if you don't look into Post's lyrics on the first verse, you won't notice it. His whole first verse is a big reference to the the golden age of rock and roll on how rockstars basically lived back then. He is now saying that today's rappers are living that life now, like a "rockstar"

I usually don't watch reactions because of how much people bashed on them a few years back so im always skeptical going into a reaction video, but these guys know how to do it.
