Couldn't agree more, I've watched Pete many many years now and never understood how a channel like metal complex is at near 700k yet Pete's is so much smaller and talk about a real travesty is Outpost 76, one of the absolute best of the best knife channels at is at like 6k. Metal complex contributes nothing to the knife world, no useable data what so ever just the typical know it all type stuff that knows it alls say when they really don't have a clue of what they are talking about. Yet he's blown up (all the giveaways help with that I'm sure) Beez and tristate are two more that contribute nothing more to the knife hobby then click my links yet they are quickly gaining on Pete in follows and in a much shorter period of time.... Pete, Alex/outdoors 55, G at Outpost76 are the 3 knife channels that deserve to be the biggest, they haven't sold out and pushing links to try and make a living shilling knife and the data they present to us is valuable as a lot of these knives we plan on buying and knowing how they perform is important. Pete really deserves that 100k plaque and honestly really deserves a million... But sadly that million is gonna be metal complex with his huge ego and look at all my expensive knives I get for free delivery and providing literally nothing of use to his viewers with what he says.
Another chronically under subbed channel is "the home slice" the guy that does all the dual grit edge testing... Very nice human that is fun to talk to and does as scientific as possible testing while not in a lab. He is only at like 7k and the man deserves 20x that.
Hey Pete. I know money is tight at the moment and not a whole lot of new knives coming in (I feel you, I just got a reality check from my own wife on this matter XD) so I'd love to see some more sharpening videos since you already have everything you need; sharpening specific steels, what kind of edges they like, and how to get the best out of them would be a very cool video series that I'm sure all of us sharpeners would watch and appreciate! Thanks for all you do for the community!
Thick knives seem to be part of Lionsteel's thing. They made the Ago, a super skinny fixed blade, and its 4mm thick. That's more wedge than blade at that size. I dont know why they do it.
Yeah the are definitely not stranger to vastly over thick for the knives purpose type stock thickness and grind. It's just part of lionsteels M.O. why they do it I'll never understand.
I lost my Stretch 2 in K390. And they are out of stock waiting for Spyderco to make more. I am sad about that and this video needs a comment, so there you go. Also please keep up the great videos!!!
7:23 exactly what it reminded me of. actually ZT were horribly unsharp from the factory and end up with big edges like this. those were the days when you needed a kme or similar to reprofile the factory edge. I sold them all off. great action poor knives
Hogue mysto is where it's at. It's much better overall, especially blade & edge geometry. Axis lock makes it so much better one-handed usage. The Demko 20.5 & the smaller cub are also excellent. The shark lock is very good for 1 haded usage. It's probably my favorite lock.
I came close to buying one of these but did not in the end. It probably would have sealed the deal if it was hollow ground. Im rooting for Lionsteel and the rest of the Italian conglomerate of knife makers though. We will get a winner sooner or later.
Speaking of slim and lightweight, I was super happy to snag a used Al Mar Eagle Ultralight in AUS-8. Spent a little time oiling the pivot and sharpening the blade. I went back to your older video review on it, and I would agree with your sentiments. Still, I like it a lot, and it’s probably the best $40 I’ve ever spent! ☺️
Pete I would have never made the mistake you did. Red & black is a favorite knife color combo for me. Wish I had been aware of the St. Nicks Spydercos earlier. Still snagged 2 from them. BTW great review. Got zero Lion Steel knives so far but who knows what the future holds ? Would like to hear about the solar battery situation, when you are ready.
The red and dlc Spyderco exclusives from st nicks are my fav exclusives as I love 4v and doc and red looks amazing! To date I have every Spyderco exclusive they have dropped!
Interesting blade. Reminds me of one of the Swiss Tech models I've seen but more premium. Side tip. One of the main benefits of raised beds is not to walk in them and compress the soil. Mine are only 3 feet wide so I can work from the sides. Think aeration mate. 🤗
Awesome mate! I put a 14 degree edge on my Lionsteels, I think it helps with sliceness . BTW they do have the aluminum scales in black also in DLT trading
I guess they keep it thicker for durability, taking into account there will be people out there prying off old paint can lids and beating it into lumps of hardwood or something. So the less recalls to the factory means a general material cost/problem of breaking is diminished. which would eat into their profits. Sometimes you just got to make things for the lowest denominator of customers!
my sebenza is usually in my pocket because it hits the width and thickness sweet spot for me. there's a ton of thin knives that are still very tall and I don't really find that to be a useful pocket spacesaver
I had a 3800 dollar lithium battery bank back up cook it's self off about 3 weeks about. Was only a tick over a year old and had a catastrophic failure.. not gonna lie it made me sick and right after the warranty ended. Thankfully I paid the extra 300 for the 4 year warranty and another one is on the way right now.
regarding your repeated choice of babypoop and diarrhea coloured blades and handles, if you haven't already that might be your subconcious trying to tell you to have children :P jokes aside, watching your video it occured to me how handy it is to have a knife at hand around the house at all times for all these tasks and how that convenience is entirely anulled by having to set up a camera to film how practical your knife is and how your're saving time not getting a rusty, dull garden implement to tear open packaging. have a nice australia!
Mr Thomas is perfectly sufficient. Larrin is not the type of guy that wants to be called doctor in the first place. Ask him and he will tell you just as he told me.
I have some expensive knives like ZT, two Hawk M.U.D.D. knives (no longer in production) etc. But I completely stopped buying them because apart from the Hawks which are pretty original, the rest cannot justify their prices. For me a knife like Ruike in Sandvik steel is actually all I need. Excellent finish, easy to sharpen, tough and pretty well ground, i.e. really slim. This is what I carry most of the time. By the way, these two Hawks are for sale if anyone is interested.
Facts, they know it now and have know it for years. The m390 they put out is to soft and performance is no where near what it should be. Totally unacceptable yet people continue to buy/support them.
It’s a crying shame that this channel doesn’t have 100k subs. Definitely one of the best knife channels ever.

I agree. Every other you tube knife reviewers are the same boring reviews
Pete and AKB are GOAT level knife content
Love Pete, some soul and dumb humor into knife reviews, also always top notch music choices
Pete turning from strict librarian into bombshell by removing his glasses, and shaking his hair loose....
Uncle Randy (don't give a damn) vibes right here :D
Crocks fully engaged in sport mode is the sign of a knife reviewer with conviction who doesn't half ass anything😁

The irony of having this interrupted by a Husk advert!
I just saw this knife on youtube! It just posted a video called "two months with a skinny and dirty Australian"
You say "Diarrhea baby poo", I say "Earth tones" 😌
One if the best knife channels 🎉

Cause they don't care about knives. Just the look if it.

Oooh hope they keep making them in k390. Although im sure the next cool steel they use for the seki knives will be cool, whatever it is
@CedricAda so far they are just out of stock at all the usual online stores, fingers crossed that they come back into stock 🙂.

They will never win anything. Let's be honest. They pay for blade show awards
Pete, I’d send ya on my dime a homemade 1084 flat ground lighter duty fixed blade to test if you’d be interested.

Lovely, Peter! Lovely.
New Cedric video drop hell yeah!

Dope leg tat mate!

Great review, and nice looking knife. I think for a "skinny" knife (which I like) the Benchmade Osborne 940 still wins, and is thin behind the edge.
Oh Pete! 😢 i love you too! ❤

More dog appearances in the videos 🙏
I think you colour choice was great and to hear the magnacut is on point I am getting itchy fingers to buy ahhhhhhhhhh damm you
Did it, I asked a certain knife store if they support you too.
toolcat is back!
One day pete will do a Rat 1.5 in magna-cut
A Narrow profile knife is for me too
The adult poo/baby poo knife is back!
Flipper, bearings, not for me, but I'm really glad to hear Lionsteel is hardening Magnacut better!

Have you sussed out the qsp vault yet?
Thanks. I just bought my solar batteries!
P.S. Has anyone done a good job of putting both chopping and slicing blades on one device?
He said fuck...
🔥🐈⬛🔥
Well, now I know what “erstwhile” means.
🤘

have a nice australia!
ovewrall a good knife
You’re an interesting fucker, Pete! Not too many gems, such as yourself out there! Rock tf on mate🤙🏼
why so gray my scientist friend 😅
yellow Crocs, hmmm.
neat
if you like skinny, i have a boos blades mini smoke id send for a review
classic LionSteel slim thick build
not classic LionSteel heat treat
Dr. Thomas, not Mr. Thomas. Mr. D. Thomas is his Father.
Mr Thomas is perfectly sufficient. Larrin is not the type of guy that wants to be called doctor in the first place. Ask him and he will tell you just as he told me.
Don't infer any hidden meaning, but that skinny knife might be skipping leg day.
But I like the colorway....
4:48 Those shorts are… ummm…
Haha right! If I wore shorts like that I definitely wouldn't do so on camera! Lol
Good review and good to see you upload again. Do you wear those shorts on your onlyfans?
Lionsteel's don't cut unless you heavily reprofile them...
That's a good looking knife. Does it run on bearings or washers?
Washers are bearings.
I believe this one is on ball bearings.
Need mini version
Well first I suppose
Well, any thoughts on the knife then?
..or did you just feel the urge to comment without anything to say?
@ it’s just a fun thing people do when they happen to be online as soon as the video is uploaded
Calm down mate
way to thick behind the edge...like all the lion steel. they just should produce choppers and nothing else

Lionsteel gets no respect from me after selling poor performing m390 for a very long time without fixing the heat treat.
Facts, they know it now and have know it for years. The m390 they put out is to soft and performance is no where near what it should be. Totally unacceptable yet people continue to buy/support them.
Nobody seems to do good 20cv/ m390 to the point where I avoid it all together
@@davidf3974last few years spyderco and trm do decent enough as long as it's from the usa. Reate have some decent m390 sometimes.
Please forget about the knifes we need more multi tool videos / Swiss army knife /leatherman
Couldn't disagree more.
I wish all knives were skinny. The only part that cuts is the edge.
Egregious price. Nope.
no chrono trigger music. no like button.
