Thank you for taking the time to make this. I have been trying to decide if this was a step I needed to take, and your video was the one that made me say yes, I need this. You sound incredible and you look amazing!
You look and sound wonderful! I wish you all the success in the world. I too would love to have my voice done. Did the SRS some 13 years ago, so the voice is next. Seems more difficult this time around to save up the money but hopefully I can make it happen by mid 2015. Good luck "Butterfly!"
This video makes me so happy and as a young trans woman it makes me look forward to what can happen. Thank you for inspiring me and keeping me hopeful. ~Princess Saii
Your voice sounds so amazing. I would be super happy at that even, because I totes remember your before voice. ^^ You are so beautiful, and I'm happy you're so close to being the you that you want to be. I'm sorry I haven't been watching your videos much. I went through a thing... But I'm still following your tumblr. I am super excited for you, because you're practically my hero. I wish I had all my ducks in a row like that. ; u ;
Good luck with SRS and glad you are happy with your voice surgery. I think it's a tad higher but I don't see it slipping or straining like it was before. Be patient with SRS because again results take time and hard work.
Hey butterfly your voice sounds great! Quick question: while talking in this video, how much did you have to alter your voice? Were you able to speak relatively naturally (compared to how you spoke before the surgery)?
Once the sutures dissolve, and the site has healed, I assume that drinking carbonated drinks can continue? I would assume that once things have healed and the sutures have dissolved, that would no longer be a problem. I'm sure they will inform me.
You're amazing! Thank you so much for this :D I'm really looking forward to VFS someday! I'm a singer too so this was really exciting for me to watch. PS You look great!
By the way you sound great for 3 months post! I have FFS surgery in 4 months, I've had SRS, breast implant 2 yrs ago. I'm planning my last surgery Which is voice surgery for May 2015, what advice can you give me I have contacted Yeson already . Stephanie Ps were you frustrated because you weren't supposed to speak for several weeks?
Your voice sounds good.I can hear a slight low frequency vibration sound when you talk.I guess that will go in time i guess. Thanks loads for sharing your experince.Hopefully i will be there soon. Its one thing that i have always failed on is finding my female voice.
love your progress . I notice how much your face had changed from the voice training vids you did to this voice surgery. Amazing. honey you are so cute. hehe... Oh I am just starting out btw. ciao.
Thanks so much for posting this! I was thinking that your voice wasn't that different from before, but then I opened another UA-cam window and played your pre-op voice next to your post-op voice. There is actually an astounding difference, not so much in pitch, but in the naturalness and flow of your voice. Pre, you were obviously controlling your voice, but post you didn't seem to be 'working ' it at all. You sound effortlessly female now. It's a great improvement I notice that you sometimes have a double note when starting some words, for example the word 'my' at 3:30 in the phrase "...my voice surgery". I've noticed this in some other Yeson patients. Is it something that will settle with time?
With other YTbers saying they had bad results with Yenson, I'm very happy you didn't! Some people say there's no difference in your voice before surgery, but I don't think they understand that BEFORE surgery, your voice was a conscious change, which is why it's a strain, and if you DON'T think about it, you can slip back into your male voice. AFTER the surgery, you sound the same, which is a testament that your pre-op trained voice was very good in the first place! Now, post-op, your voice sounds the same but you don't have to consciously keep it there like you did before. I don't think that came across in your video, so people are saying "it's a waste of money".
+letsflybutterfly You are very clear in your talk that voice is something that needs to be worked at after surgery. Same as you have to dilate post GCS. I have met people who went for voice surgery in the USA and came back with good voices and managed to get the voice back into the old range. Without surgery and with coaching I am speaking in the 230 Hz range, but it took *tons* of work. Yason suggested I might be too old for his technique to work---he cautious about suggesting it for anyone over 50 years of age. He was very helpful and listen to my sample track and wrote me back (no charge) I should try the after surgery exercises. Turns out he was right. I got a coach and can hit 430 Hz on on upper range excursions and believe me at my age it gives me a bit too much of an ingénue sound--what with graying hair. But being in the 230 Hz range was simply giving myself "permission," plus a lot of exercises and using a tape recorder and singing along with Joni Mitchell who is my age. You are a beautiful woman and thank you for sharing your story and I wish you well! You are nailing it!
(: You look and sound so amazing! I would find it difficult remembering not to speak, are you /capable/ of speaking, or is it just cautioned against doing so?
Thank you! It is hard not to speak. You can't speak for a week after surgery. And then only one or two words a day for 3 weeks. And then you can talk regularly, just don't talk loudly or whisper.
letsflybutterfly : Hi. How are you doing nowadays? Will you do an update? :) - Not being able to speaks sucks so much. What helps a lot instead of Notebook and Pen: Bring a Smartphone (and a power bank to keep it charged during the day) and use "Swype" as a keyboard, its really making fast typing easy and then add "Speech assistant" as well, which allows you to type and show as well as text to speech. It helps a lot!
Oh this is amazing.... This is going to sound weird but I'm in a kink community into tickling, and something voice training can't do much for is laughter. Would this affect the sound of your laugh?
Sorry , I'm sure you have been asked this a billion times already, but how did you afford to do the surgery and then be off of work so long? I'm starting my transition and am soo lost and just wanting to know the greater details :) . You are absolutely gorgeous by the way !!
Hi think you very much for your video ! I would like to do the same surgery in soouth korea but i'm really anxious i've got a lot of questions, for example; does our singing voice change after the surgery ? Is it different from before the surgery ?
Quick question, do you think there are any risks of damaging your voice having subsequent surgeries due to intubation? I would hate to have my results undone because someone wasn't careful inserting the intubation tube down my throat... Great voice BTW! ;)
Thanks for the reply! ;) I was thinking about having tracheal shaving done as mine is pronounced enough to cause me some dysphoria (however, I'm not including that in my FFS and will have it performed at the Yeson Center).
Heya! As an Aussie I'm confused by your liking of footy, but then I'm confused by most sport :P Question: Could you give me a rough total cost for your trip and the surgery? I'm considering it myself but I've no idea of the totals involved outside of the surgery itself. Anyway, keep on rocking!
Haha, it's cool. Soccer has and always will be my favourite anyway. Well I plan to move to Australia next year after I graduate. Well surgery is about US $7,500. Flight was 1200 from America, hotel was like 1000 for 10 days, and then food and stuff was like 500 I think. I'd say on average about $10,000 US dollars.
Oh awesome, I hope the move goes smoothly and stuff :D Which state are you planning on lobbing in? If you don't mind me asking, just curious is all. Sweet, thanks! That's around where I'd guessed it'd be. Now to start saving.... Hurr
Shweet. I can't really say I'd personally enjoy living near the politicians, but the observatory and the lack of light pollution up there is pretty brilliant, plus the laws there are actually quite progressive, it's kinda like a legal test-bed of sorts. Tis rather expensive though. In any case, good luck, comrade!
Why am I seeing all these vids saying that "Dr. Kim ruined their voice and won't respond or do anything about it.". You sound fine. Tho I do find it weird that Yeson Voice Center disabled comments on their youtube. Kinda would like some clarification on what the deal is.
hi, so how has it been? can you reach higher pitch now than on this video? I have a high pitch and I love to sing but I would like to be able to reach even higher would you say that this type surgery would suit me then?
Hey, you have obviously noticed a difference in your voice but going by the first part of this video I can't notice any difference apart from a croak after tone in your post op voice. Maybe a little difference in the part 1 intro but nothing major. You do sound better when you begin that blog, were you straining your voice then? I am a male and want to discuss this therapy with a new friend but I don't know how she'll react. She is a beautiful person and I have her best intentions. Should I?
Around US $7500 for the surgery. But I'd say about $10,000 for everything, including surgery and travel expenses. Risks, sore throat, voice not changing, other usual surgery risks. Diet, I think I know what you mean, no smoking ASAP, (I don't anyway, so that was simple), stop hormones a few weeks before and stop alcohol a week before. And definitely worth it. 100%
Theresa Booker Dr. Ballestas in Barranquilla Colombia costs $7,000 total. for hotel, translator, food, surgery , transportation and hospital. 5 days total. all inclusive
I'm wondering that too. But I'm not going to try it until I'm sure my voice has completely healed. Maybe a year or so after the surgery happened. I don't want to take any risks though.
Chuy Alvarez that's a good question, too! Considering this surgery when I'm older and I hopefully have my fingers crossed i will be able to, because right now no sound comes out when i try to scream. Not good if I'm in a bad situation on the streets D:
+Gray Fox: As far as I know, it's best to have four months of silence - complete silence. No whispering, no accidental vocal sounds (like Ooops) - just pens and sheets of paper. Which is the reason why nearly two thirds of all voice surgeries go wrong. Training is the healthier (and less expensive) alternative available.
+MsXler Lmao what are you talking about ? Complete silence for four months ? The surgery at Yeson requires no speaking for 7 days (not even whispering since that actually puts more strain on the vocal chords), and after that minimal conversation for 2 months. +Gray Fox
There is hardly any difference between your trained voice and your post-op voice. The good thing about your post-op voice is that it's not as nasal and sounds more natural as apposed to elevated.

Sweet! Of course!! :)
+johanna smith it's not worth it most of the girls who did it are not happy with the results
hey, is there a way i can contact you. i am on my way there and i just wanted to be as ready as possisble ... i am very curious...
Did you get it done and were you happy with them? My doctor recommends me to see them but I am scared
@@bugsbunny3902 did you get it done
Im glad the surgery went well, your voice sounds great!

I'm not sure. There might be, but I highly doubt it. I do know that they don't recommend a tracheal shave because it could damage the vocal chords.

How funny, I was thinking about this surgery and that is the EXACT same thing I was also concerned about! x
When will we hear the result of voice surgery?
3-4 months
question! does the surgery raise your entire range or does it just cut the low end off?
Heya!

Honey Ive had SRS its not as bad as what people make out I was on my feet on the balcony 8 hours after having a ciggy (given up 2 years now).

I'm Truly Stunned ~ Amazing *Gurl :)
How much is the taxi fare from hotel to airport? Is it easy to get a cab?
I don't really know how I came up here or even if you're still alive hahahah but frankly speaking you look beautiful as FUCK!
How has your voice been? What is your range like these days? Just curious y'know. : )
It sounds great by the way. : )
Can you give the doctors information, please.
good luck with SRS -love ya

Odd question, but its a worry of mine, do your vocal chords feel different? I'm worried it'll feel weird
how much did it cost? am looking into it but need funds lol
Theresa Booker Dr. Ballestas in Barranquilla Colombia costs $7,000 total. for hotel, translator, food, surgery , transportation and hospital. 5 days total. all inclusive
was botox all that was used? I thought it was a surgery..
it is a surgery, botox is just injected in order to help the vocal cords relax after the lasering.
how much everything coast including fair
how much does it cost?
omg you're cute. thanks for sharing
I so happy. For you. ☺☺☺☺☺☺☺😊😊😊
Will you be able to scream high pitched like a female ? Plz reply ! Im very curious !

Must it be Korea?!
***** Sing-ging lol♡
You are beautiful.
It’s a little different
Sorry but your voice sounds almost the same not that much change
You have such a beautiful face. Just saying =)
It does not work for everyone. Watch me. I must live with this damaged voice for rest of my life.
Yeson does not care. They got already money
Avril
My dad hates us
I don't hear any big difference.. you should sing tenor' diapason, but you don't
.
Can you make a video to compare before and after? I cannot hear so much difference, your voice was already feminine
creepy
