100km Zone 2 Ride, July 7th 2024

I only found out after creating this video that two days before this ride a cyclist was killed on Argents Lane, the narrow, fairly twist lane between around 1:15 and 2:10. I had no idea of this when recording the commentary, and know only that the driver involved in the incident has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. I know nothing of the circumstances of the incident in question, which may be unrelated to my comments in the video or here.
My sympathy, of course, goes to the cyclist and to his family. Whatever the cause in this particular case, please be mindful that the implications of a collision may only be a written off car to you, but are likely to be serious injury or death if a cyclist, motorcyclist, pedestrian or horse rider are involved.

Sad story, happens here in Germany as well on countryside roads that are limited at 100kmh in general, but drivers driver even faster of course.

How do you render your overlays?

I use filters with Shotcut. The range of data fields that can be used is limited (no power, e.g.), but it works well.
