    UPDATE: This charger failed in just 4 months of use. Most likely due to the excessive heat.

      How many charges do you think you got out of it? I'm looking at a Victron, but it costs twice as much and only charges at 30 amps.

    I'm charging at 140 amps BABY. 400ah LifePO4, It is such a intense charge It allowed me to identify a problem in my system. Kill switch is creating too much resistance for the current gauge of wire, Just going up to 00 size. The other cables seem fine after the switch, we shall see how that works.
    Depleted 400ah charge in 3 hours flat. Four P35 chargers wired in parallel
    Cutting down generator run time by 3500% is bound to have a slight efficiency improvement i would imagine.

      This is the comment and video I was looking for! I also have 400ah lifeP04 in the form of 4 100ah batteries, each with a 100amp BMS. I was looking for a charger that could be run in parallel for fast charging, as I also want to cut down on the get-set run time. Could you go into more detail on how you set yours up? Did you just wire them in parallel and then run the 00 wire off the last one or did you run them to a bus and then the 00 wire? Also, how is it holding up today? Lastly, do you know what the total AC side draw is with them all running?

    I just purchased two new 12v 100ah mini redodo batteries. I will be running these in series for a trolling motor that requires 24v. I'm not charging the system with solar. Whatever charger I will be using will be plugged into a standard USA 120v receptacle.
    My question is, how do I charge two 12v batteries that a permanently ran in series? What is the proper way to charge the two batteries that I can get the most life out of these LiFePo4 battery?
    Thanks

    I think I'd tear the unit apart and install a better fan and I would cut off the alligator clips in favor of lugs or some other stronger connection and maybe the unit would last and stay cool

    50amps of continuous charging power is nice. You did that charge in 3 hours, better than waiting all day for a 10amp power supply to do the same thing. For the price, its pretty simplistic in it's design. I would expect a little more. You identified the cheap rubber handles, I agree, something different in the next version. Also would like to see some type of display on the unit to identify the voltage and stage of charging. Thanks for the review.

      It certainly does kick butt at charging time. I agree, they need to fix that rubber handle problem.

    This is what it says on Amazon. "14.6V 50A LifePO4 Battery Charger Trickle Charger Smart Charger and Maintainer for 12V LiFePO4 Lithium-Iron Deep Cycle Rechargeable Batteries and Battery Desulfator" When does a LiFePO4 need "Desulfation", and when does a LiFePO4 battery need "Trickle Charging".....hmmmmm

    I have a question..
    How many Amps can a 12v 50ah lithium battery can be charged at?

    • @BradCagle
      @BradCagle  2 місяці тому

      You need to refer to the manual of the battery, they can have different specs for each make/model. Generally it's 0.5c so 25A max, but again check the manual to be sure. Also in the manual it should state standard, and max. Ideally you would charge at the standard rate to ensure longevity. Thanks

    nuclear meltdown, Going to need to breathe he says. Ya send that shit back lol.
    I really didn't have a choice but to wire chargers in parallel because even the largest charger on the market did not work for me. The advantage of this is no mega heat even though 35 amp chargers still produce some. Because I am spreading the current across four chargers it effectively spreads the heat as well. I can keep the wire size smaller and they are all rigged to connect to hot plugs on a bus bar off my battery bank. I have one cable i need to replace in the system that need a thicker gauge to handle the amps but the charger side of it stays cool or nominal.
