@dollsNcats I totally agree with you, Susan Boyle reminded us all that it was not just her amazing voice folk had underestimated but her amazingly beautiful personality that truly shone through making her very confident and friendly when she spoke with them after she had sung so beautifully

Me too! I always felt so angry that they all laughed at Susan before she even auditioned. I was so, so happy when she blew everyone away and they had to eat their words! ❤ I really think Simon learnt a big lesson that day, one he still carries forward to this day.

She really did change everything for older contestants, especially the singers.
I can name a list of singers over 40 that are fantastic better than many 20-30 year olds, it's a stereotype this age nonsense today
I love her so much she's such a kind lady I live just down the road from her. She still goes and grabs my prescription when I forget and just after my last kidney transplant she made me a wonderful lasagna.
I remember this well. My wife and I were watching and she said, "she's gonna put them to shame." Her intuition was right.
Susan Boyle will never be forgotten..

She came on stage and was confidently herself, despite the disparaging looks that the judges gave her. She was fun, light hearted and confident. Didn't rely on any sob story, just stated the facts and got in with it.

I know, she has an amazing voice, and great personality. I listen to this quite often. Im so glad that Susan is doing so well. And I hope those that made fun of her with comments or rolling their eyes learned a BIG LESSON...

Every so often, when I need a lift, I watch this again. Every time, I feel her trumph.
She will be remembered as a legend in BGT.
That voice was gifted to her by GOD because she is so nice and humble. What a talent.
Susan Boyle is so iconic that I refer to her with my chemistry students in regard to Boyle’s law. With this law, pressure and volume are inversely proportional, and when Susan is under less pressure from the audience, she can gain confidence and sing with more volume ;)

I remember watching the original viewing and, like the judges and audience, I was rolling my eyes before she started. And I remember the shock and awe when she struck the first note. It was one of the most emotional and humbling three minutes of my adult life. Periodically I return to YT to listen to the purity of her performance and to ground my ego. Thank-you Susan Boyle for showing me how to work on being a better person. ❤

Gabriel Iglesias came in 2nd place also. He just sold out Dodger Stadium. Nobody remembers who came in 1st in either competition. All I can say is she is amazing..
@@bcdushman … I simply remember “Diversity”, the outstanding street dance crew that beat Susan for the title, led by Ashley Banjo, who would later go onto other talent shows as a judge. Susan would then go on to become a global megastar… Just like FLUFFY 👍😎

The greatest audition of all time. Susan. When on to sing with Elaine Paige in a duet and held the number one spot as a vocalist in the history of music for someone starting out at 47 it was one in a billion.
Brilliant, when the crowd laughed at you, I was ashamed that a whole crowd of adults could be so rude. I was probably the happiest person that day, when you showed how wrong people are to judge from the stereotype of people they were programmed to be. I'm so proud of you Susan Boyle, you are amazing.

paul potts and susan boyle. Both are what 'got talent' series is all about. Gold and diamonds hidden inside of lumps of rocks coming to light and getting recognition they deserve. I hope more and more talented people will manage to muster up their courage and come to the stage and show off what they're made of to all of us!

This performance more than any other, turned these shows totally upside-down. No one was watching or interested until this incredible lady took a chance. Susan Boyle gave the most unique and heartfelt performance I have ever seen. It was devastating for me, her fans, and especially Susan when they announced her as runner up. Thankfully, Simon Cowell knew she was a special person with a phenomenal voice, and signed Susan Boyle up for a recording contract 🎭🎤🎶✨️❤️🔥. From Ontario, Canada 🫶

The best part is how she smiles and soaks it all in right before she sings. It’s like for a split moment you could see in her head she said to herself, “okay, guys… you wanna see what I got? Here is what I got!” And then she blows the roof off the place. Any of the doubters and people underestimating her swallowed their tongues from the undeniable talent.

I think I've watched this Susan clip like 50+ times. I had an Aunt Katie who was deformed at birth but when she sang the Angels would fly in through the windows and gather by the thousands just to hear her Heavenly Voice.
I saw the original audition and I still watch this and I still have a tear in my eye when I do.
