Slava, I think what you’re discussing at the beginning of the video with your host is ‘confirmation bias’. Michael is right. But, the majority of Americans according to polls are left of center. Virginia is very ‘blue’ ( democratic ). Its schools are excellent. The Univ. of Virginia is a top tier college. I hope you were able to visit it. I live in the middle of DC, so a drive to the vineyards isn’t far- perhaps a couple of hours. You asked a great question about what has sustained the US for over 240 years, I would say the Constitution. But it hasn’t been easy. The Civil War cost us 600,000 to 700,000 lives. Our population was only about 35 million. There are battlefields all over Virginia. By the way, when you were in Alexandria, I hope you visited Gadsby’s Tavern. George Washington and his wife visited Gadsby’s frequently as his estate was only about 10 miles from there. It was a typical tavern in its day, and still is. And yes, they even danced. After his presidency Washington only lived a few years at his estate. He stood on the steps of the tavern in 1799 for his last birthday parade, and died later in that year. It’s too bad our governments don’t seem to get along. Russians and Americans seem very similar in spirit, and expansive in their personalities. I’ve found Western Europeans much more difficult and a bit stuffy. I know several Russians here - they fit right in. Anyway, sorry you did not come after the worst of Covid was over. The Smithsonian museums are opening now. So, you’ll have to return. ! Let me know if I can offer any advice. Happy travels ! Doug

Michael is from Richmond, a little college town to the East of Charlottesville. It used to be the capital city of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. Today, it's about the biggest hipster place you can imagine, and Michael's style of dress is very reminiscent of that area. His outfit is very well put together and I appreciate his knowledge of coffee. It was funny to see his demeanor switch to a businessman's presentation when he was going over the bag, haha. By the way, Charlottesville is home to the prestigious University of Virginia, a school founded by Thomas Jefferson!
RVA is a huge area. VCU is in the city. Nothing like UVA. Michael, if you ever get to Athens, Ohio check out Donkey Coffee. It’s my brothers shop and you guys could probably talk all day about coffee. 🤣
Not really, Charlottesville is home to many "old money" families and vineyards. Also, it depends what you mean by "shit", but Richmond does have a lot of crime, but also a vibrant social and party scene with lots of emphasis on the arts. It depends on what you're looking for. Both places are affordable to live in when compared to Northern Virginia.
Yes really Richmond for years had the most corrupt local government in the United states. They have been taken over by radical leftist with help from govenor black face northam. It's the same in both Richmond and Charlottesville. Been here all my life. They are both shit holes. Just like the state of Virginia. FACT!!!!
Wow. So cool. Used to go to Beaver Creek in High School for parties. Lived in Charlottesville for many years. Sorry I am not there now to say hello. Hope you enjoyed the little town near the Blue Ridge.
On role models for USA when it became independent only other working republic was the Netherlands (Dutch Republic). Venice was a republic as well but was not favoured as a model. Arguably the US originally went for an 'elected monarchy' style scenario similar to the UK during the mid 17th century. But over time the constitution evolved to become much more democratic in nature.

interesting video, you are correct about the echo chamber effect in our politics. But let's be honest, where are the huge crowds of fans for Biden/Harris? There are none.
@@lotusholder that was not a political rally, that was a planned celebration, a victory party, there is some difference. Biden/Harris had several rallies, and hardly anyone attended. Even his inauguration videos on UA-cam had more thumbs down than thumbs up and the total number of those watching their videos was embarrassingly low. Any videos that allowed comments were soon removed due to the number of negative comments.
@@KingCatsTube Hmmm, I was responding to your original comment- you never actually mentioned political rallies, right? But to move on, I think the embarrassment is most of all for the one who lost that election, given just how much the loser branded himself as an inveterate braggart. Well, he drew very big crowds, yuge crowds= good for him! Hope he really enjoyed them, I guess. Poor Biden and Harris couldn't draw crowds- though for Biden, it was earlier on a multi-candidate race, for which he was considered an also-ran; and later, after his nomination, there was a pandemic IIRC, so really an asymmetrical comparsion; and anyway, he and she ended up winning, if you think about it- I guess that was an adequate consolation prize for him, not being such a celebrity and such. Of course, actually winning and then steadily crafting government policy is pretty old-fashioned, nowadays- I guess that my opinions are behind the times.
@@lotusholder Hhhmmmm, let's see, nothing even remotely resembling grassroots support, no enthusiasm, his approval rating some of the lowest in history for a newly elected president. A sizable number of those that voted for him expressing buyer remorse. An overall disastrous start to his presidency. Still, some serious questions about the election itself and I am just scratching the surface.
@@KingCatsTube Hmmm, let's see- trump lost the last election (crucial); Biden's approval ratings, as low as you think they are (and in reality, not high by historical standards), have always been markedly higher than trump's, even according to Fox News's own polling; and those expressing remorse are unremarkable, as numerous people who voted for trump and other presidents had the same experience; and in fact, Biden's polling since election and inauguration, unlike trump's has stayed fairly consistent- trump's started lower and soon sank still lower. Still, the guy who starred in 'The Apprentice' will likely be able to attract large crowds of rabid fans of his for years to come, while never having even won the popular vote. After a review of the evidence, questions about the election were almost unanimously dismissed by the judiciary, including the SCOTUS, many of the former and latter being republicans and even trump nominees themselves; and in the swing states being questioned, republican election officials involved nearly unanimously vouched for the integrity of the election process. The questions, if ever serious ones, are no longer so. Biden's presidency so far has included a large legislative package passed, a recovering economy, a steadily rising stock market, cabinet positions soon filled, professionalism and a respect for science being restored in federal government, all rather than drama revolving around a president's pathology, as was the case during the trump years. Also, signs so far point to a much lower degree of criminality in the executive branch at this time than under the previous admin. All of this undoubtedly uninspiring and even boring stuff to you, but nevertheless useful to the U.S. Still, there will always be trump fans and Biden/Harris haters who will emphasize questions of fandom, or peculiar notions about charisma, or raise fringe doubts and questions, and who are bigger fans of all of that than of the more consequential aspects of reality- but those people, and yourself, would better serve themselves and others by bringing a more serious attitude to questions pertaining to governance, than to 'likability.' You're just scratching the surfaces of your biases. This whole exchange between us started after you expressed your focus upon huge crowds, and continued as you expressed your youtubistic/social media-oriented concerns about doubts about Biden's popularity, and swiftly added conspiracy-tinged musings. Better, rather than emphasizing your notions of popular support, to focus upon the real election outcome and upon real matters of governance, which are much more important to the well-being of this or any other nation.
The music is kind of solemn and maybe austere. I close my eyes and I see a mule train slogging across a dessert or a guy manning the oars in a roman slave ship.

The reason Americans work so hard is because of the Calvinist work ethic many of the first settlers brought with them when fleeing Europe. In Calvinist Protestantism, the harder you work the better your chances of going to heaven. It’s ludicrous as we have a “live to work” mentality compared to other countries who have a “work to live” mentality. One I much prefer to be honest, even being an American.
Americans have hardworking and dignity of labour. Less elitism /feudalism/class system unlike British ,some other European & other countries. After all they fought and won on British colonialism and Hitler’s naziism. Has flaws but still the best.

@@nolife1199 which is usually healthier to see it that way even if it would be overrated, either way it's better to keep implementing better values and goals, then getting in use to fall in worse
So cool you guys visited my state!!! Really enjoying all the VA videos :)
Another great video, Slava! Virginia is beautiful!
Thank you very much!
In an odd twist of fate, my wife and I from Charlottesville VA just met Slava and Lena while we were all in Lubbock Texas. The US is big, but it can sometimes be rather small.
So glad y'all are having a great time ! Hope to see y'all when you get to Texas?
Hopefully if this wonderful couple makes it to Texas, they’ll realize we just want to be left alone from an overbearing, ever growing tyrannical government. And we get sick and tired of being told what a bad country we live in. I’m blessed to live here.🙏🇺🇸
@@ramongonzalez2112 Same, Texas is wonderful. There's only one negative thing about living here, it's ridiculously humid right now from all the rain haha 🥰
@@adrianas4341 I know. I have family in Miami😁. California, where I am, has it all: Climate, beaches, mountains, technology; but with socialist bozos in power, it has been ruined. And sadly, when they move to AZ, TX, or NV, they continue voting for Dems😱!?...✌️&❤️ to you and enjoy this wonderful channel!😊
@@ramongonzalez2112 I am not political so nothing effects me. lol I just do what I'm supposed to do. Neither party satisfies me LOL I'm originally from Northern California I moved to Texas 15 years ago. I miss California it's absolutely beautiful but I would never move back there due to the high prices. And after moving to Texas I was able to afford my own home my husband and I own. I love it here
I hope your family love America..
I’m from Cambodia and I have lived in Virginia over 30 years..
Arlington. Virginia.
Slava and Lena, What a treat! Great video and wonderful insightful hosts. Cheers! And happy trails guys!
Such a peaceful video, that's one hell of a day
Michael is from Richmond, a little college town to the East of Charlottesville.
Not only founded by TJ but much of it was designed by him, too. Did you get to Montecello?
RVA is a huge area. VCU is in the city. Nothing like UVA.
Michael, if you ever get to Athens, Ohio check out Donkey Coffee. It’s my brothers shop and you guys could probably talk all day about coffee. 🤣
Shit town same as Richmond
FACT!!!!
I love watching your videos... 🥰 I'm from Philippines by the way... 🤗❤️
Wow. So cool. Used to go to Beaver Creek in High School for parties. Lived in Charlottesville for many years. Sorry I am not there now to say hello. Hope you enjoyed the little town near the Blue Ridge.
Great places to hike along the blue ridge parkway if you are in the area for a while.
You're just an hour west of me in Richmond! Have fun!
Wooo lot of fresh strawbery pick it up directly in the garden, amazing guys
What a pleasant group of young people! :-)
Nice scenery through that area, just through there a couple of months ago to see my Brother. Strawberries look really good. Time for some strawberry shortcake!
That sounds good! I'm making omlets tomorrow morning.🌄
I like the discussion of this channel
These seem to be dropping not in order. Charlottesville would be before the two Blacksburg videos in the flow on the map right?
you're correct
Welcome to Virginia! Enjoy your stay.
@RussianPlus If you're leaving from Miami or Ft. Lauderdale, I'd be happy to show you around if you're coming or are still here
I saw you at that strawberry patch! I thought you looked familiar and now I wish I said something
I think it would be good to get out to the countryside from city. So peaceful. :))

Michael, Capt. Janeway is looking for you. She heard you had fantastic coffee.
man i have watched almost 20 videos of you in a row 🎞🎞, really entertaining
Thank you very much😃
interesting video, you are correct about the echo chamber effect in our politics. But let's be honest, where are the huge crowds of fans for Biden/Harris? There are none.
At the victory parties for him and her back in November, actually.
So beautiful there ✨✨😊👍🏻
i wish i could better my english accent plus pick up some russian words....watching fromm Nepal 😍😍😍😍😘😘😘🤗🤗🤗🤗 thank Russian plus

Love your trip.
Nice drone work ✌🏾
That dude looks like a distance runner
The music is kind of solemn and maybe austere. I close my eyes and I see a mule train slogging across a dessert or a guy manning the oars in a roman slave ship.
Nice video. I haven't seen too many large Biden rally’s. He doesn't draw flies. Beautiful strawberries.
Big crowds celebrating out in the streets after he won the election, though ; )
The lady who has the bakery does she have a UA-cam channel?
Wow !! I was first here , all the way from Jamaica

Visit Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Great video but I don’t know why the transatlantic slave trade was completely glossed over as a contributing factor to America’s success. Prisoners of geography by Tim Marshall takes a more objective approach to world development, I’d highly recommend it.
To your point about Russia being lazy (I appreciate it was said in jest), Germany ranks pretty high in the number of public holidays globally but happens to be one of the most productive countries per capita. Japan on the other hand is a polar opposite.
I’ve been enjoying your videos so thank you for sharing these stories with us.
Хорошо
Va?!? Y'all on the wrong side, but the more beautiful side of Va.
Beautiful video and country side...from a eastern side Virginian. Blue Ridge area is beautiful. As for the political topic, just stay off social media and you'll be fine. Most the extreme types on either side are online and YouTUbe cause no one can challenge them really. I wish the Internet would just go away or back to dial up, even if that means no videos like these
Actually America kind of had a role model to start...if you buy into it...modeled a bit off the Roman EMpire with a Senate and all
Guys why are you not posting us videos in your main channel cool vision
I got behind on your video's. I just watched 3 that I missed. I don't think the Gas thing is Russian Hackers. I think it's from the Native American's who are into Standing Rock and the fight with the Oil Company's.
👌 i am india
I want to work here
You call America to the United States of America; but America is from Alaska to Argentina.
