Was a pleasure to serve you both yesterday! A friend in the village follows you and sent us the link. Lovely to meet you both
Thank you so much, we loved it!:)
Hahaha
Freddie “you don’t need to get a close up on the chain it’s embarrassing”
Monika “zooms the camera all the way in to the chain” 😂😂😂
It is so nice to see that these English villages are still largely unspoilt. Like stepping back in time - for the better.
Sadly not many locals can afford to live there. Alot of holiday homes in that area. Pushing young people away.
This channel is head and shoulders above any other on UA-cam. Although it's called Freddie Dobbs, I think everyone will agree, it's the partnership between Freddie and Monika that makes it so special, they are inextricably linked.
Your articulation, the way you deliver the reviews, the flow of the videos, the background, everything seems so perfect! Found the channel last week and already my favorite moto channel 😍
They are a nice couple. I love the British countryside adventures.
shout out to Monica! Everyone needs a "Monica." Even Monica!!
When I arrived in the UK after WW2 I grew up in an English village with a Norman church built on the remains of a Saxon one. The Romans farmed the hilly fields around it. It remained fairly intact as far as population and amenities went but today has become a trendy dorm for the nearby town. It has changed dramatically. This Suffolk village has not fared so badly but many of the once small and agricultural villages of England have become swamped with weekend warriors who can outbid locals on most properties.
All changes: what remains for many of us is the memory of a different time.
Can't believe you rode passed my house (Little Glemham) and didn't pop in for a coffee. You're gonna miss Suffolk for all the reasons we moved here.
So amusing to see you are nonchalantly walking through Westleton like you are on your own. 😊. Not a criticism - my wife loves you Freddie!
Sneakers and pajama pants... On a Harley Davidson! No Freddie, that guy in the book might have a great tan, beautiful body and gorgeous hair, but sneakers and pajama pants!
You have the ultimate look not only for motorcycling but for everyday wear. Button down shirt, jacket, jeans and boots. I love it because that's my style and it has been all my adult life so thank you for looking so good. And as usual, Monica is not only a wonderful partner for you but a great cinematographer. God bless you both.
PS, Sneakers and pajama pants, I'll bet you could kick his butt, that weenie!!!
Freddie and Monica , you guys inspire me so much , love your work man😊
Thank you so much, all my best to you🤜🏼🤛🏼
I love the village visits, and I'm with you. I never shine my boots they look much better rugged 😅
i have a virago 535 1998, and its the love of my life, bin with me for over 20 years, i have done alot to it,but she is going no were.and love your channel freddie.❤🙏
Filled with fun and relaxation -another great effort guys -thanks
Lovely video Freddie. Reminds me a lot of my days in England and Ireland. Thank you.
Aww Freddie, your videos are the best! I love the little tours of the English countryside that you take us on. I wish we had quaint, picturesque small towns like that here in the southern U.S.A. And you're making me want a Triumph (Riumph?) more and more. I think it might be as good of an all-around motorcycle as my beloved Sportster. I'm sure that it would be a good...what we used to call a street bike...without the image and brand-consciousness that comes with owning a Harley (even if you don't buy into it). Great videos by you and Monika - keep up the good work!
I second your motion, Freddie. I consider a centre stand an absolute necessity on any bike. Invaluable when doing DIY work chain, tires, brakes, rear wheel etc. To me, a no brainer , but with the exception of RE, I don’t know what other bike manufacturers have them as standard equipment. When I am parking ,I always use the centre stand. More secure IMO. Cheers to you and Monika and keep on producing fine videos. Dan. ✌️🏍🇨🇦
Hate centre stands Freddie, heavy awful things, just as easy to walk the bike to do the chain, I simply mark one link so I know when I’ve done it all and lube top and bottom to be thorough 😊
Was that garage also a Husky dealer? 🏍️
*but more to the point… the errant tank badge 🙈
JB 🏴
I am presently riding a Royal Enfield Himalayan (the two wheeled Land-rover) across Morocco and doing the Chris Scott off piste routes - currently in Western Sahara and the centre stand on my bike is essential - maintenance, chain oiling and of course, puncture repair + a bit more secure and safe when parked up as side stand buries into sand and gravel easily.
Can’t help feeling a bit sad you’re leaving that area. Suits you both so well!
Please sort the riumph on your tank out!! 😅
brilliant episode Freddie and Monika!
Lovely video Freddie, but you will never be allowed in Cornwall again putting cream first🤣🤣
Hi Freddie nice to see the Riumph😮😮😮
My wife has that jacket too, they are great!
Good luck with the centre stand, I fitted one to my scrambler and Ive never encountered a bike with such poorly calculated centre of gravity. Its like lifting an elephant onto a table😁
Hey Fred, you need a T for your Riumph and either silver paint for your front pipes, alternatively use black wrap.
Freddie - re the post boxes, an interesting fact I overlooked for years, but it obvious once you see it. They each bear the symbol of the reigning monarch at the time they were installed.
So that one, G-VI-R:
George 6th Rex (King).
Most are E II R (Elizabeth 2nd Regina).
So that post box would have been isntalled between 1936 and 1952.
Great video Monicas camera work is stunning 👍
Thanks Will🙋🏻♀️
Nice video Freddie........always jam first though 😊
Love that little Harley book lol. I'm from the US, started out with my first bike being a Triumph but now ride a HD Low Rider ST. Couldn't help but laugh when you said Europeans would have a seizure seeing how lax Americans are with safety. I see Harley riders all the time not even wearing a helmet at all, no gloves, nothing! It is crazy! I always gear up as much as I can, although I do admit in the summer time it gets so hot that I don't have protection on my arms haha. Ride safe sir, cheers from Houston Texas!
once again Freddie another great video such honest input in every biking matter you post . look forward to every video you keep me like many inspired during the winter months thanks again chap
Beautiful episode 👌🏻
As much as I love the Bonneville, and it’s a beautiful bike, I feel you deserve a RE Classic 350 permanently in your garage.
Oxford heated grips game changer . In my 44 years ride, I never had them on any bike until my 2016 tracer 7 . Well worth it for winter.
These villages are so beautiful. Nowt like where ilive. Thank you for bringing them. England at its best😊. When my dad owned a garage in the 60s petrol pumps were like that and older. All petrol was served by a human no self fill. At 5-6 yrs old I used to do it. They also gave gifts like a “tiger in the tank”. By changing the exhausts the fuelling may be wrong but not thought as bad as that. S
Great vlog awesome weather 🎉🎉
Nice tour video Dobbs🎉
Sorry you are leaving . You have done a great job off showing of Suffolk.
Think you will be back.
Can I just say I love the front wheel pattern on your bike !
I love your streams . I am also a Landrover fan so even better . Thanks for a brill stream . 👍👍👍
You've encapsulated perfectly, with your comment on the Harley book you purchased, the divide between love and hate for the HD marque. My feet aren't firmly planted in either camp. There's a part of me that recognises that the V twin configuration of the classic Harley is almost exactly a perfect fit my riding style. I've ridden a couple of Sportsters, so I can confirm thats the case. There's an equal measure of opposite pull when I consider all the cultural baggage that comes along with Harleys. The fact that the brand is entirely synonymous with a whole biker life style schtick that's both authentic and phoney in equal measure.. Ask any non-biker to name a motorcycle brand and odds on, it'll be HD. So I guess that makes me a contrarian of sorts. There is indeed a thin line between love and hate. Love to ride and ride what you love.
As an American who came across your CB350 video (i'm currently finishing one up myself), I laughed at your Harley photo book. Yes, we see so many Harleys so that was a good laugh. You also need to try chile con carne here in California.
Chile is a country.
100% on the centrestand being a necessity! Good old Triumph, good to see it back, sounds and looks soooo much better with the twin silencers
Beautiful as ever Freddie ….. only one disappointment….. how could you put the cream on your scone first!! 🙈 You’ll be banned from Cornwall!! Lol 😂
PS…. One motorcycle book costs you three cups for Monica! Lol 😆
Thanks for the vids Freddie.
little tip, while the bike is on it side stand, you can lift the rear wheel using a car jack on right side of the swing arm below the axle nut.
Nice video again, really glad to see you putting the cream on first then the jam even though you’re parents are in Cornwall
Looks like you could stand to find a stock front fender (mudguard) which would help keep your bike clean as it's hard to imagine you're getting much help from the one on there now. As always great video!
Loving you having the Riumph back, such a nice exhaust as well
Don’t see many GR post boxes any more. That’s a nice find too.
Great camera work by Monika. Like her editorial guidance input from time to time.
Are you flying off soon to somewhere warm again to miss another UK winter?
Hi Freddie and Monica. Long time subscriber and enjoy your channel. An (cheaper!) alternative to having a centrestand is a 'prop stand'. I've had one for ages so not sure what might be available now. In essence, it is an adjustable stand that will sit under the right side swing arm, so that the bike's rear wheel is off the ground while the bike is balanced on the side stand (LHS) and Prop stand (RHS). I also use a little tripod camp seat, and can sit and attend to my chain without all the micro movements! Of course even better is my Moto Guzzi V7 with shaft drive so I don't ever have to bother about cleaning and lubing chains. 🙂
Thats hilarious 5:55 i used to own that model Harley, never took it on the beach though
Freddie, you dont neet a center stand. You need a stick. Get a stick. A good old fashioned, strong stick. Put your bike on the sidestand, go around, take your stick, lift the bike over the sidestand a bit and put the stick under your swingarm. EasyPeasy.
Yes!! First comment I've read that says this which is odd lol.....I've been doing this for the last 30 years...I have a bit of velcro strap that I use to apply the front brake (or a cable tie loop, whatever you have) just prevents the bike rolling forward of the side stand....makes cleaning and lubing the chain a breeze!
Monica and Freddie, I have said it before, but excellent video, everytime really... Monika's eye for the videography is always awesome! Always a pleasure that I look forward too. This you tube channel is the only one I eagerly await the next installment.. also on another note Tuesdays at Dobbs... also watch.. I did think what are people talking about when they mention the decor in the room etc. etc., I am not there for the decor, I am there for the content, I wouldn't be overly concerned about such comments.... if I consider other channels I kind of get the angle, but it is not even a factor for me... Still surprised how that channel doesn't have more subs, love your video's.... please keep them coming... have a good weekend both...
Totally agree John. I'm always pleased to see when Freddie and Monika post a new video. Tuesdays at Dobbs' is always a highlight in the week.
Totally agree Freddie, all bikes should have a centre stand, it's so annoying trying to work on the bike without one. Great video, quality, content and entertainment always guaranteed, thank you
Great video! The Harley book description was classic!
Need to get the tank badge sorted 👍😎🇬🇧
I do. This weekend I think👌🏻
Holy that chili con carne looks so delicious. I'm so hungry now but I'm at work 😫
My family tree led me to Westleton and Dunwich so I jumped in my Triumph tiger and popped over for the day. 525 miles round trip from the Bristol area!
Lovely part of the world and being a Land Rover nut I also stopped and had a look at that garage.. there’s a church up the slope near where that silver discovery 2 was parked and I had a look around the church yard to find relatives.
I actually recognise it straight away from the thumbnail lol
Oh Freddie I love all the little tea houses you find, there just so cool. And I got to tell ya, the old triumph looks just so good with the nos exhaust. Now it’s time for the new tank badges. One thing at a time. Hearing you talk about the Harley culture you saw in that old book you found just made me laugh. Ya were a little different over here. But your old triumph would be accepted with open arms in the Harley would.
The same HD book is in my bookcase, had it for years but still only looked at the pictures. Will make some good reading when i've sold my HD and want to cry over my finished riding days! The Scone was obviously too fresh, falling to bits like it did. The dark winter evenings and long wet weekends are nearly here, time to get that tank badge done, ready for next season's rides, to far away lands.
Freddie, I just watched your latest video, and stepped back to watch this one. I cant help thinking there is something wrong with your headlight. It appears to be pointed too far up. Just thought i would mention it. Love your content. Cheers...
completely agree on the center stand
Great video Fred. Can’t believe you missed that Dolomite Sprint in the Landie garage 👌🏻
great camera work Monica!
Riumph looking good and and sounding good too. Whenever i see those bags i think about getting them for my T100
You should get Mr Downpipe exhaust cleaner, should bring the front Downpipes looking much brighter, seem to work well on the examples I’ve seen.
My T100 2014 Special Edition. Cold hand-painted Pin Striping. Mine went in the opposite direction. Hasd a bottom end rtebuild. Tried to be a backyard mechanic an resulted in replacing bottom cashing. Now I get more mileage, like 100 miles on a full tank of supreme gas.
with your tec exhaust your bike may have been mapped for that exhaust, now you have put a stock exhaust back on you need to map it for that
the tec exhaust will let bike breath a bit more, if you know anyone with a comp and ttp program they can at least check what map is on it.
this is different to letting the bike idle for 12-15 mins to let the fuel air mixture adjust.
You cannot leave apple pie !! You guys produce some lovely videos, thanks.
Monica- Legend... she's hitching her wagon to a true motorhead... love the videos Freddy... keep safe... come to the US next summer
This comment refers to the algorhythm to support your videos. #7
Greetings from Zurich
Freddie you,l to try and clean up those down pipes thought you’d a tackled it
Before the install great videos all the best from Cumbria 🇬🇧🍺👍🏻
I got a TEC centre stand for my Bonnie, fitted straight on easy peasy. It’s most annoying that they have stopped fitting them as standard.
Freddie get that tank badge sorted 😅
Hi friend . I like watching you. I like super sports bikes, but you have your own style. You are doing well!!! Your videos are excellent. it doesn't matter what you ride, bikers are one big family.❤ 😊
I expected to see a chap chug pass on an AJS smoking a pipe and wearing a flat cap, lol, a nice laid back video, thanks peeps.
@11.50 “This must be so old” - the post box and sign are both marked GR - George VI became King in December 1936 so this box would have been made sometime between 1937-1952. I’m a lot older than you Freddie but I’ll be very surprised if we are still posting letters in ten years time, but hopefully the post boxes will remain in place 🇬🇧
Before you get a centre stand Freddie try one of these for cleaning and lubing your chain
Motorcycle Motorbike Swing Arm Jack Lift Rear Wheel Maintenance & Servicing on Bay of Fleas
Lets you jack up the rear wheel but popping under the swingarm on the opposite side to the side stand
The new exhaust is so much better.
Freddie, I understand that this channel is not solely about Monika, but what I keep noticing is that you want to entice here to ride more than 30 minutes. . .I have a Triumph T120 so I know that the triumph backrest with the same size rack is readily available. When I first got the bike I took mine off, but my daughter’s boyfriend wants to got with the family for rides (my 22 year old has a Honda 500 Rebel), so I offered to take him. . .one ride without the backrest convinced me to put it back on. . .took ten minutes, and he being able to lean back and relax changed everything. For the love of all that is holy, let Monica be comfortable and get the backrest! I don’t take it off because it doesn’t look dumb at all. . .Please don’t be selfish!! Best, JABJAB. PS. . .if you want a pic of the backrest let me know. It does change everything for passengers.
Hi Freddie.....I took my centre stand off. Firstly, ground clearance issues....secondly, at 5'7" and over 70 I couldn't get it up, I think it was designed for the T100 with 19" front wheel ? I was told that if you put a small block of wood under the rear wheel ..when raising the bike.
Come ride in Australia nice weather here. :)
I see Andy the Missenden flyer has managed to blag a set of panniers like yours. He did mention he'd spoken to you about them 😊 I wish unleaded fuel was the same price as at that garage 79.9 😊
They look great on his Speed👌🏻 They’re the best panniers I’ve tried🙂
I remember this was the price when I started driving (2003⛽️)
Remember not believing petrol would get to £1.00 a gallon.. 😂⛽
@@yamark02oh yes those were the days. I started at 50p a gallon
Westleton is famous because Prince William and Kate stayed at the Westleton Crown pub in the early days of their relationship. They were attending the wedding of a friend who lived locally.
Thanks
These videos bring back amazing childhood memories, Suffolk is such a beautiful county, I had family living in one of those chocolate box cottages and spent a lot of time there. Thanks for sharing with the world, but the way you butchered that scone 😂
Fuel usage can increase if the O2 sensor is not connected or working.
Yes Freddie if you change to a k and n filter or change exhaust system; I always start my bike ( don’t touch throttle) leave engine ticking over for around 12 minutes then turn engine off, then restart engine as normal and ride off into the sunset, happy riding. I’m not certain if this will get your fuel economy back to normal but it’s worth a try.
That chilli looked amazing 😜I wonder if the Father is a naval chef? Allegedly the hardest course in the Navy to pass 😉
Freddie have you thought of doing a follow-up on the BSA Gold Star. I've seen your initial review a few months back but would love to see you review it in depth now that the bikes have been on the road for some 9 or so months.
I got the paddock stand bobbins from TEC in the uk for my triumph, instead of centre stand. Keeps the weight off the bike but allows easy servicing
The bags really complement the Riumph well. Definitely going to look into getting a pair. Congrats on 110k subs too Freddie & Monika!.
11:30 you tried your best 🤣 love your videos. a fan from singapore
Good job it was cream first on your scone great adventure
Nice quality video, I live in the Cotswolds and have a very large love for all the little villages
Centre stands should be standard equipment. Buuut I’ve gotten away with just using my scissor jack at the centre stand mounting point where the pivot bolt hole is. I’ve got Thruxton length Hagons soo a centre stand wouldn’t reach the ground anyhoo🙃. Lean bike on the side stand , or in my case, side stand with block of wood underneath s stand and jack at the point mentioned earlier. You can chock the front wheel to just keep her steady. You can also safely jack the front end off the ground using the section of frame near the starter . I’ve duct taped the jacking point of the jack to keep from scratching frame. Both wheels (not at the same time) have been removed loads of times for various maintenance and cleaning tasks. Having said all that, a centre stand is still the best option 🙃.
Keep up the good work guys. Always look forward to your vids 🍻!
I love your bike, only think I would change is the wheels I would put spark wheels on it , great videos
You two inspire me so much and remind me of our selves twenty years ago love you presentations, cannot wait for the next, must go out on my 350 hunter tomorrow, I live on the south edge of the Lake District on Morecambe bay,but love the areas you explore, thank you both
Freddy, why is your Bonneville headlight pointed upward? BTW, I enjoy all of your videos.
Still sooo much to see in Suffolk! …Just a mile up the road in Yoxford is ‘ Yoxman’ !
Also from Yoxford it’s a nice ride to Framingham. Beautiful castle and village. And a well known pop star owns a good chunk of property there….
