This is why Spinos are my favorite base map tame. Sure, it didn’t win, but it also didn’t have the water buff. Combine that with a spino’s durability and zero point turn radius, and it’s a great everyday travel mount, especially being great for clearing out an area for more stuff to spawn in.

And if th Managarmr used it's dive attack, well the result would be the same but the margin bigger. Think them not using specials is part of it though.
@@ZaChemas not really because they just fly at a slightly faster speed than normal but they don't have a huge ass burst of movement like the managarmr or rock drake (even though the managarmr got nerfed long ago)
Reminds me of competitive dodo races we had on the one server me and some friends where on. I spent like, 200 hours breeding the perfect racing dodo. Everyone knew that Shwohle of Clan Buff had the hook up for dodos. We even had 5k HP hyper bred dodos for 'tanking'. It took, far, far too long to breed that much HP into a dodo. You have no idea.
Some of the creatures were not using its full potential and some creatures were not even running. For example the kaprosuchus was not even using its jump ability. That would have made it have a bigger chance of winning
Might I propose a different strategy to these races. You individually race each rideable Dino and start the timer the second there is clear movement, if a Dino can’t be tamed then forcetame it, and if it can’t be ridden then repeat the format you’ve been doing. The rider is allowed to use any techniques they think will get them across the line quicker (e.g a rock drake can jump then dive, a procoptodon can jump, and a dire bear can charge). This way the fastest possible speed of the Dino can be attained, and less anomalies can occur (such as iguanodon on two legs, megalosaurus waking up etc). Then compile it into the top 10 or 20 best times (ensuring that you can skip some of the obviously slower dinos). There are still some anomalies such as spooked Tapejaras and Quetzels not working, and it’ll likely take more time; but it’ll finally silence any of the critics stating that their favourite Dino got cheated.
