This game is burned into my memory for life. Literally the second game ive ever played in my life at 4yrs old. I hated how hard those first three levels were and didnt see the maze level until way later in life due to how damn difficult this game was for me. 😅
I never beat this game as a kid, but it does have a reverse difficulty curve. The game gets much easier once you get the upgrades (I didn't even know about those until I grew up)
Back in the day, I was too afraid of the game because of the reapers. I told my mum, that they scare me too much and my dad told me:" Flo, take a knife out of the drawer and if it attacks you stab it. For each one, you get 50 Schillings ( pretty much for a smurf like me at the time - in Austria, we used to have Schillings before the Euro)
There are 5 endings. The best is when Pit becomes big at the end. It requires all 5 damage upgrades and all health upgrades, the Holy/Holly bow (depending on who you ask or what manual you got), and the fire arrows and the health refill potion. Plus all 3 sacred treasures... Which there is a bad way to where you get to Medusa and are not able to kill her and have to start at 1-1 again because you were too weak. (Had it happen to me as a kid).
@@talongaudio939 There are actually two endings where he get`s big. One is really just that and the true best ending is where the godess falls in love with him, with kisses and flying cupits and all that stuff.
This is a great example of how bad the original games were if something as monotonous as this is considered a classic.there’s a reason most people gave up before beating the first level. The next two aren’t much different either and the side scrolling is a terrible auto scroller. AVGN should do an episode on this.
This isn't a great example at all. Once you understand this game's mechanics its a fun experience. Of course seeing as its old it has flaws, but it's nowhere near as bad as you're making it out to be. An actual good example for a monotonous game thats considered a classic would be Ice Climber

Subspace Emissary 8-bit looks cool.
Wait there are bosses in this game? And gameplay that isn't vertical scrolling? And more than one song?!
Once you master 1-1 (and to a lesser extent, 1-2) you’ll find a truly amazing game
I've spent 16+ hours and just got past world 1. This game is tough
Oh boy you're in for some treat

FBS, you’ve done it again!
The jumping and timing precision on display here is very impressive
It's been an awesome journey watching you destroy this game the past couple years FBS. GG!
I like the Metroids at 14:23. Nice touch Nintendo.
@@hawaiidkw1 Thank you! I definitely didn’t know that…😁
Jesus beating this game was SOOOO fucking rewarding at the time.
I really like the Metroids at 14:24. Such an interesting guest appearance!😂
That shop wasn't lying, he really did have everything.
This and Zanac were some of the toughest games to beat.
19:04 such a good flex
Mario movie brought me here
Even the TAS fears those infernal cringy death things
You mean Reapers?
For some reason when I was playing Metroid dread and finally got the gravity suit I thought of the last stage music of this game
This is an interesting TAS. Unfortunately, some frames were lost.
No frames were injured in the making of this video.
And where would that be?
5:07 Huh, this is interesting to watch. Nothing to exciting, but it's fun to watch the move-WHAT THE FUCK
i love how youtube says this is super mario bros
I think I saw such door design in Rygar... hmmm...

You? We have everything.
I wonder what the real speed run time is, one without cheats and glitches
2:38 Rude
I wonder if those wall clips in dungeons are RTA-viable, especially the dungeon 3 skip.
It is. Sgdq 2020 proves it.
2:37 how did he "walk right past"?
seizure warning 13:28 - 13:35
If someone tried to say this was a real run id say there is no way in hell you got past those damn frogs without getting hurt yes im aware it's a tas
It's a TAS.
jk
I wonder, would this run be even faster if it wasn't limited by the game's auto scrolling mechanic?
Probably
Absolutely
I didn't realize it was published along with Metroid and Zelda
Such a flop compared to those two
Damn, I remember trying to beat every game I could. Lol some where straight up garbage, others were golden.
I never beat this as a kid, only after the 3DS version that gave you save states.
Is there a "best ending" TAS out there? This seems like a low score%

Apparently he's turned into a farmer, but I think he looks more like a bug trainer from Pokemon.
@@Allafif there is also a roman centurion, and one other besides what I mentioned already. It is based on how much you complete.

YUMP 2 ?
100% , please 🙂
Who tf names their kid "Pit?"

Kid Kratos..
Kid Atreius
Yes profit news: Year-round fundraising ideas
Story: Saint Seiya + The Legend of Zelda.
Ending: One Piece.
I never understood why so many people liked this game. I thought it was freakin' awful.
Isn't TAS measured by how long it takes in real time, not game-is-unpaused time? How could the pausing thing help?
