@@darrenwilson8042 that's an issue that could easily be corrected. Even though I kinda like the elevated rear cushion, which makes for a loft bed for the child, while the adults sleep in the recliners below.
For anyone watching who owns a TS,... 195 front, 175 rear tyres, and match the exhaust pipe to the manifold flange inside diameter instead of the stock drinking straw pipe.. transforms the car in to what it really was, the First Hot Hatch, able to frighten Mk1 GTi owners in a straight line, and out corner them everywhere else.
I drove a 16 TX for more then a year and my uncle had the 16 TS back then. I loved it, electric windows, arm support in the middle, tainted glass, fifth gear, fifthe door, position of the levers, steering wheel size and upward positioning. I would like to own a Peugeot 404 or a Citroen DS somewhere in the future. Ah, yes, cars from my childhood, gotta love them.
This is still a modern car. Adapted to today's safety requirements and equipped with an ecological drive system, this car could still cause a sensation.
This is the most important car EVER without a doubt, it even looks like an SUV so far advanced and perfect in design, Steve Jobs would have approved I believe.
R16 was far from simple to change starter motor. My dad spent many hours into the smalls changing one over on one of his '16's first one a brown tl the second a silver ts. I can still recall all the swearing coming from the garage.
Beautiful video of the era of the French RENAULT 16 L the only car more versatile than cars of larger dimensions ... wonderful video !! RENAULT 16 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 😍😍😍😍😍😍
R16 was presented to the public for the first time in the Show of Geneva in March, 1965 (not in 1963)
I think automakers should re-release their highly successful models that have reached iconic status. Albeit, retrofitted with the improvements befitting the times. I'd definitely be interested in purchasing a 16, DS, CX, or 404.
The French have so many great designs from the past. The new Renault 4 and 5 EVs are a great start but imagine a new version of the Renault 16, Citroen DS or 2CV.
This car was way ahead of its time and the competition. By the time the awful Maxi was introduced, Renault had developed it even further. Wasn't a huge success in the UK though.
PAF !
Who else, 48 years later, still think this design and execution is still fresh and viable for today's market?!! 👌
I think it would need what we now consider a conventional folding back seat for todays market tbh

Only if the teddy bear is included.
@@paulgoudfrooij6561 And burro too!
I owned a 1969 Renault 16. Great design.
This is too nostalgic for me.
It takes me back to my childhood.
A car so far ahead of it's time and with real charisma , really charming .
One of the best cars I have ever had !
Super car. I would even buy it now (2022).
One of the most comfortable car ever ! Loved the column change too , such character .
Reminds me of vacation with the parents as a child. Those cars were ahead of their time... like the Citroen CX and the likes.
Aside from the gorgeous Renault 16, I find myself replaying this video numerous times for the music.
Have a listen to the music from Monsieur Hulot's Holiday :-)
Great add/reveal! Great car!
The music to this video is also fantastic.
I had one of these. Bought brand new . I loved it and miss it.
My father had a TS in that green I got to drive it a lot and loved it.
I had a 1969. Purchased for $500 in 1981. I drove it everywhere; awesome car, very comfortable

a true delight to watch

This is my dream car. Simple, comfortable, elegant.
Achilleus Adolphus hai ragione.

I was born when R 16 was born, my brother had one in the seventies.l still remember the beautiful and comfortable and white colour car.

😍😍😍😍😍😍
séquence nostalgie ! j'adore !
Does anyone here know anything about this powerfully evocative sound? It evokes nostalgic memories of a bygone era...
It's killing me! Very nostalgic.
Has that Santo and Johnny surf Hawaii sound mixed with Acker Bilck
Nice to see how cars were shown years a go nice cars to
That's a brilliant video for a brilliant car . And that little boy is really cute .

Beautiful woman and beautiful car:) Real retro-spective clip this one.
+parreraz today she is 80 - 85 years old

Very beautiful, one ahead of its time!!
One of my friend s had one and he gave me a lift from Dusseldorf to London . Very comfortable
HA QUELLE BELLE EPOQUE !!!
I love the music. Shazam and Google could not find this song. Anyone? Must be the Amazing Renault Cantine Swingers or something like that ;-)
Quel charme !

Those were times when people drove their cars with the smoothness of a chauffeur.
Bellissima.
That boy seriously earned his chocolate that day.

DS 21 EV would sell like crazy.
Way ahead of its time. Wonder why the other manufactures didn't take the hatchback idea on board till more than a decade later?
Public perception of hatchbacks at the time was they were too "utilitarian" looking.
I miss that car!
La Renault 16 est sortie en 1965 et non en 1963.
The launching of the R16 is of course 1965 and not 1963.
I didn’t even know it had all those seat adjustments. I mean, it’s crazy in a good way.
It`d be pretty interesting driving one of these!

back in time in Algeria i heard that R16 wasn't allowed to park by the banks because of it's speed capabilities, any one confirm that?
😍🥰
The updates needed to make this model legal for our times are; seat belts, airbags, a more powerful clean burning and fuel efficient motor.
Very French I like it
have one but is in ruins idk much about cars but trying to learn how to restore it before my family sells it off
1963 or 1965 ?
Wonderful!!😅😅
1965

Great car , had TL 1973 model, clutch went, boo hoo, no money,
Council took it away, goddam bureaucrats
R16 in 1963 loooollll 🤣
Heiße Mama😬
MAKE your child work for you ha ha ha ha
Das war ein super Auto
reveal in 1965 not 1963 !!!
