    I watched this video on a whim. I often wondered how customizers made their own packaging. I dont sell action figures but i do like customizing as a hobby. I still think it would be cool to make backings for display purposes.

    You could always line up the art in a top corner glue it flip it and do the same in the same corner, that way they are completely lined up.

    Yes, yes...a photoshop tutorial would be amazing! I have searched for a user friendly tutorial for ideas like this and custom baseball cards and there is no easy introductory video that focuses on card backers or custom trading cards in particular. That would be amazing if you did one!

    Man, I love so much how specific and minut your instructions are, drawing attention to all the places where we would just assume there is nothing to it--then be so frustrated not understanding why the fold does not line up, and then likely redo the same damn thing again without realizing what minor precise techniques are needed to really make this look perfect. I'm confused how you only have 1000+ subscribers, but I assume this is a temporary situation. Subscribed!

    OR, instead of putting the front graphic in the center, glue it down along the left edge, then flip it over and align the back along the right edge. Then trim the excess. Done.

    Or you could just use 'repositionable for 1-2 minutes' spray adhesive, such as CRC Ados Multi Purpose Spray Adhesive.

    do you have a method for curled carded figures.. I bought a dozen or so figures in their original packs, but they are all curled, bent.. not creased .. I was thinking an iron .. just now searching for examples on youtube ..

    Easier way make a mock up of your backing and go to staples and get shipping label 8”x10” sticker print using a printer from home and buy comic book board cheap cheap like you get 100 boards for $10 basically :)

    why wouldn't you just get both of your aligned printouts and put the front piece in the lower theft hand corner perfectly square, and repeat that on the back with the back piece?

      No glue!! Use double sided tape.

      @@ToyKings Did you try glue before settling on tape? It looks like Star Wars bubble cases are attached by an adhesive glue. I wonder what they use?

      They do but it isn’t something that’s easily purchasable or a process that’s easily done. Tape is cheap and effective

      @@ToyKings Thanks. I think I found a way to use the glue now. I have to be careful because if the bubble moves at all before drying, it pulls ink off of the card. One more question if you don’t mind...do you print your cards with an inkjet or laser? My inkjet printer at home went out and lately I have been printing with Fed Ex and they use a laser. I spray both with a chalk clear coat afterword. Do you spray with a clear coat? Thanks again...we are trying to work through some engineering troubles. 😂

    Second, I am considering making a card back. But I wonder how different the in-hand look and feel of this method is from (I may misapply a term here) the lithographic printing of a manufacturer's card? If you had to rate the finished card using this process on a scale of 1-5 (1 being macaroni art and 5 being holysh*t), what's your objective call?

      It depends on the Printer quality but this one is pretty good I would say 4

      @@ToyKings thanks, I am considering giving this a go for a figure I just commissioned. One thing I was also curious about: you used white card stock for your boarding, but is the gray boarding (or is that brown) normally used for action figures something that can be sourced in retail quantities? I have no idea how to about googling that.

      It’s just going to have to be trial and error. I personally don’t care about it being the exact same as a vintage star wars card so mine are a touch thinker then the original but I’m sure you can find something equally the same as the original you just have to look around. I would start at the $1 store

    Hey Sherlock if you glue the front part down o the white paper and wanna match it exactly on the back… CUT OUT THE WHITE PARTS FROM THE FRONT WITH A RULER AND BOX CUTTER OR EXACTO KNIFE. Trumpty Dumpty and the Kardashians have done a number in the worlds attention span and awareness I swear.
