omg i relate to this comment a lot such as the reply below its like maladaptive daydreaming in a kind of way, in the moment of daydreaming ur irl environment disappears and its not metaphorical its like a hallucination and u dont realize it until u get interrupted. i cant say i have it yet tho since i wasnt diagnosed but with the so many symptoms i show and relate to i feel like its what i most likely have. all i can do is take a bunch of online tests on websites lol and theyre not there to diagnose me, theyre kind of just there to help me get a better understanding or explination but its not real help still so i dont take it too seriously. i hope u get what im coming form, pls dont think im ONE OF THOSE teenagers on the internet lol. im making an au called "Ron" where Kel struggles with his excessive daydreaming after sunny, basil, and mari's sewer slide and its me visualizing my experiences with excessive daydreaming unto kel. i called it "ron" because its derived from the japanese word "ronri-teki" meaning "logical" wish i can keep talking about it in a more proper manner but dang this comment is getting long and i just wanted to vent

@@lavenderoarfish68 basically in Omori, Kel tells Sunny the story about how Hero became broken after Mari's death and one day yelled at Kel for just mentioning her but quickly regained his senses and hugged him and said he was sorry returning Hero to himself. But I think in this AU this didn't happen.
I feel like everyone basically can't control their White Space causing for them to easily hallucinate..? I don't know it might be just for Kel since he wouldn't really get used to this
Sunnie is more like childlike and not as grown up as the others so it makes sense that sunnie is better at seperating his worlds
I would think that white space was something unique to sunny, and not a necessary part of one’s psyche in this setting. (Edit): The AU maker clearly disagreed, maybe I should read descriptions more often.

Someone noticed my greatest creation, yesss
This is where the parents didn't come to their room when they were arguing,
Hero became enraged and hit kel, almost knocking him out.
This causes kel to become traumatised and afraid of hero.
After hero cried, the parents came.
They only hugged and worried about hero,
Hero never hugged kel and kel felt betrayed.
The entire time their parents only asked hero on what happened,
Hero told everything except the part where he hit kel.
Kel walked pass them silently to his bed.
Kel cried silently as their parents walked out of the room.
Minutes goes by, and hero suddenly apologizes.
But mixed emotions and thoughts came to kels head.
"Is he actually sorry? Should I forgive him? Will he hit me again?".
Hero, assuming kel fell asleep, said "nevermind" and went to bed.
The next day, hero is shaking kels body, but he won't wake up no matter what.
Hero simply left him in his room and went on about his day.
Hours past and kel finally woke up,
He missed school and wondered why hero didn't wake him up, and even wondered why his parents didn't wake him up.
Kel then went back to sleep,
And woke up at 2AM.
Kel sneaked into the kitchen to eat, only to be caught by his father.
Kel thought this was the perfect time to ask his father the question:
"Do you still love me, dad?",
The father confused replied "of course I do!".
"But that night, you only went to accompany hero and I was abandoned.. I felt betrayed" said kel.
The father, in defense said:
Look, we didn't realise you were there alright? We thought hero had a breakdown out of nowher-"
Kel, screaming in a furious tone replied:
*I WAS WHIMPERING BEHIND THE DOOR, AND I SAW YOU LOOK AT ME! AND GUESS WHAT?! YOU DIDNT EVEN MENTION OR BUDGED TO COMFORT ME!*
"Kel calm down you're gonna wake your mom and brothe-"
Kel cuts his dad again, in a miserable and stresses out tone:
*WHY?! WHY WONT ACCEPT ME FOR WHO I AM? SURE MY GRADES SUCKS BUT IM TRYING MY BEST HERE! YOUR FAVORITE IS HERO AND THATS FINE. BUT YOU CANT JUST TREAT ME LIKE SOME KIND OF HALLUCINATION!*
*KELSEY, CALM DOWN FIRST AND ILL EXPLAIN! OKAY?!* His dad shouts.
His mom rushed over and slapped kel, and lecturing him about his attitude towards his dad.
While being lectured, kel saw hero just peeking from the kitchen.
After that, kel became a hikkikomori and never went outside for four years.
And even though he only stays in the house, he makes sure he eats healthy and exercise at night to be productive.
And while sleeping, he dreams about hero, his mom and dad come over to him to give him a big, comforting hug and accepts who he is.
And kel kept having that dream over and over, until it became a lucid dream and kel is aware that it is just a dream.
I like how you made kel more pale since he stayed stayed inside for a long time

I’m gonna throw my own interpretation in here: I see this as after Sunny and Basil told everyone what they did, Hero and Aubrey were devastated while Kel forgave them and tried to reason with his brother. Hero has all the right to be mad and feels resentment to Kel now too, subconsciously blaming him for “not feeling as upset” when Mari died because he “didn’t care”. Kel’s mental health has deteriorated to the point he’s become a shut-in like Sunny was, and can no longer bear being around Hero nor Aubrey

You should read the description. It says that this is an Dream Shared AU where everyone shares their headspace. This may be before the truth came out, if at all. I'm kinda curious as to where this is going.

I think kel feels like overwhelmed by his brothers success, or something. Basically kel feels like his under appreciated, with the amount of hero related items and pictures and trophys built in that little section of the start, it kinda seems to be pointing in that direction.
I can't really piece everything together, does Hero in this AU never fully recover from lying on the couch and crying and is as cold as Aubrey? Is that why Kel can't bear to see him? What horrible way to die resulted in puddle-shaped Something?

Dude, the Headspace version of Kel's house looks so cool! It reminds me of maladaptive daydreaming, where Kel was just wondering around his house, so entrenched in his fantasy world that he didn't fully register what was actually happening till Henry walked in. Also, love the little details, like the pictures of Kel, Hero, and Omori on the wall. It shows how much Kel probably still idolizes Hero despite... what comes next.
And oh boy, was I was not prepared for him to be such a nervous wreck when his brother showed up. It's obvious he wasn't expecting Hero to come home when he did (despite his mother expecting him that evening), so he was probably just too detached from reality to even notice that was planned.
I think I have a decent idea of what's going on though. If Kel, Sunny, Aubrey, Basil, and Hero all have a white space and Headspace is a shared dreamworld, then it can be assumed that they ALL partook in something deeply traumatic. And as a result, each character mentally regressed in some major ways. Kelsey became an intense daydreamer, and no longer wants to focus on reality. Hero, like Sunny had before, repressed his emotions so as to avoid feeling pain.
Given the puddle shaped something, I'm... almost inclined to put this after the bad ending of the game, where Sunny jumps off the hospital. But that doesn't seem write based in the author's notes. So perhaps they all knew the truth about Mari's death from the very beggining, and all have to bear the guilt and resentment came as a result of it being covered up. If that’s the case, then it makes sense Kel's so nervous around Hero. His brother was probably enraged about the whole thing, and perhaps Kel thinks he's capable of dangerous behavior (despite his Headspace home implying he still idolizes him).
Calling it: Puddle Something is Kel’s guilt for spilling Orange Joe on Mari and Sunny’s carpet.

So Kel is a hikikomori and Hero arrives on day 2 until Sunny's departure.
Does that mean that everyone in this group forgot about Sunny? Or it was Kel who pushed Mari and someone else helped him? Hero is acting pretty cold here, you can tell if you played the original game, he's more quiet and serious. Maybe Hero, not Basil, helped Kel? Either way, it's going to be an interesting au!
Don't think so, everyone has a shared dream and their own white space and black space (the description says so), Sunny's something would appear and the others would see it because they're in the same headspace but maybe they don't know what happened and are just traumatized, or Kel and Aubrey were fighting by the stairs and Hero and Mari tried to stop them and accidentally pushed Mari and Sunny and Basil saw everything

the way “HERO?” changes to “HENRY”… really makes me think KELSEY is used to how HERO is friendly with KEL in Headspace… and it makes me sad seeing how reality is jarring to him in this AU, considering in the main game KEL is the one most attuned to reality and the effects of grieving without being aware of what’s going on around you.

I think the color scheme would be a bit different because, SUNNYS headspace was mainly purple because MARIS favorite color was purple. She was also gonna dye her hair purple, with AUBERY i think. Which is why everyone but BASIL is purple

My theory for this mod is someone in the friend group was killed by kel nobody knows kels did it except hero who either called an ambulance for them like in the omari au or staged it to look like something else like basil in omori

That's an interesting concept! The characters seemed to have developed pretty differently here. Kel is very silent, and even his whitespace doesn't have any dialouge at all - which is interesting. And Hero seems to... Not be here? Or be named Henry, at least.

Ahah, the next part was in working and then stuff happened... Quarantine also ended and we got busy again, we have projects for other fandoms we're working on and even that's going very slowly. Gosh, I'd really like to come back to this concept though... Most of the storyline has already been decided, we'd just need to make it...
My theory from watching the other vids:
Each character has their own headspace. In the headspace Kelsey is Kel and Henry is hero. When’s he’s walking to the door his mind is in headspace. Kel can be in his headspace during the day, unlike Sunny. When he opens the door he gets brought back to reality. I’m not sure why he’s so pale and scared though.
Mannnnnnn this seems so interesting! This shared whitespace au is actually so cool, I wonder how basil fits though? He doesn’t have a different name like everyone else, I wonder if he realized what was happening and is now trying to save everyone from going “oyasumi”? Very cool and exploratory stuff! Can’t wait to see more :D

So I have two ideas of what's happening here, so Kel could be hallucinating all of this, or he could be sleepwalking and the first time he did it everything was nothing until he started walking, he most likely definitely got injuries which most likely woke him up during it. I do like the idea of sleepwalking though. No wait sleepdreaming is better.

So, considering this confirms none of the main four uses the exact same name for their dream selves (be a close enough nickname like Kelsey->Kel, or a completely separate name like Aubrey->Dorothy), I suppose Basil is not named Basil in this AU either.
Basil's name is close enough as well! But it's possible it's so obvious it's hard to guess, lol

You should read the description. It's still the same as the main story except for the fact that everyone shares their headspace. Sunny is still alive from what the description implies.
Basically, instead of Basil and Sunny being the only people who have had to deal with the trauma, it's all of them. They all have coping mechanisms, as their White Spaces aren't exactly going to be the same for the group.
this video popped in my recomendations before previous parts, and i thought this is a AU, whete HERO killed MARI and only KEL know that this wasnt a suicide, and while HERO was in college, KEL just started recovering in his own headspace, but then HERO get back, and KEL is schoked again

All the group(Aubrey, hero and even sunny and basil)decides to reunite at least one last time to help kel
In the process of finding him they separate.
Aubrey with sunny and hero with basil in the process they end up forgive at all sunny and basil and when they reunite sunny and Aubrey are...strangely holding hands(:////////// suspicious)Anyways kel it's nowhere to be found but...sunny remembered something(NOT THAT SOMETHING)
in the way to it's new home he managed to see a warning that stated a canyon nearby and he fear's the worse he tells everyone he's ipothesis but they think he's exaggerating but knowing kel it's been through the same thing sunny did(an hikkikomori sindrome) and sunny telling that during that time he had suicide ideas they give it a try
In the way near the cartel they ended up almost catching up kel but he runs faster to the canyon now they know they need faster to catch kel unless they want to say an eternal Oyasumi(good night).
They ended up catching kel
But he's about to close his eyes to leave this dream
Luckily hero grabs his hand
Now safe kel have a mental breakdown saying sorry about how careless he's been to anyone
For not being there for Aubrey
For not trying to help basil
For in some (strange) way pressure sunny
And
For not caring about happened to Mari and ESPECIFICALLY apologizing with hero about that.

He wasn't there for her
Neither for him
Leaving saying
"I can't believe i have a brother like you"

At first I actually thought this was an Au where Kel pushes Hero down the stairs instead of Sunny and Mari, since Kel and Hero also have a younger-sibling older-sibling dynamic.
