That's at least good for people who hate waking up early to go to school or work. That way they don't have to wake up in the dark.

I see y0ur p0int that standard time should be permanent but I think not… because we have automatic clocks that change themselves and the sun wouldn’t sett at 8 9 pm central time and everything would stay the same.

Not every clock sets automatically and the sun not setting an hour later in the summer is no big deal, you still get extra hours of daylight.
