In some interviews people go from "I danced some cumbia" to" I became a salsa teacher" nearly in the same sentence. From what I gathered, you, Laura Canellias and Albert Torres must have played a big part in the development of LA salsa. Did people like you and Laura trained the Vasquez brothers? Was Alex da Silva a street dancer or a trained dancer? I saw a video of Luis dancing in your group...
@@drbravo5072 Hi, The answer is long and debatable. There is no origin point. All dance "styles" evolve over time. I just did a three-hour interview with Andrea Stewart Welsher on her Andrea's Dance World podcast. Explained it in great detail. Albert, though he taught occasionally was a promoter who drove the exportation of LA Style by creating Worldwide Congresses. The Vazquez brothers can answer that question better. I do know that my mentor Joe Cassini also worked with Francisco to teach him to count music. DaSilva- gotta ask him.
