We love visiting Whitby so it was like being there again, great stuff. You need to do a walk during the Whitby Goth Fest though in October, it really is a sight to behold.
As we're visiting on Saturday it's nice to get a preview, Not keen on too many people near me so the narrow roads may avoid . Good to find out all the pubs , eating places and shops too. Lovely day expected (23c in Oct) ! so a sea walk likely
My favorite place on this earth. Old lady in NZ now. Yorkshire born, love the video. Remember lovely school trip, my first introduction to Whitby, then holiday to follow.
Am off for a trip here day after tomorrow with my sister and I can't wait! Only been here once before but have been waiting five years to get there again! Lovely place! We are leaving on Tuesday which is going to be in the 90's! 4 and a half hour train journey!
Another great & fantastic video of WHITBY | 4K Walk through Whitby from Whitby Abbey to Whitby Beach via the 199 Steps and Harbour i once went with my brothers for a day!.💖💖💖
I have to say I adore the quality of your videos which really bring all the lovely places you visit to life and this was another excellent one apart from the fact you missed shots of the Abbey out at the beginning while on the top of the hill ........... the icon of Whitby!!!!!
Thank you so much! This is so helpful because I'm rereading Dracula right now (together with the email newsletter going on right now of course). This makes it so much easier to visualise the location! Sadly I can't go to Whitby right now but now I really want to.
Never been to Whitby but have heard some good reports. thought I would look for a video to get more info and how it looks. Got to say what a nice place and captured in this amazing video, have you been to any other resorts?
Loved the video loved the views I like Whitby Nice place plenty to I don't think I could go yet because I'm not very well and have just started taking iron tablets Hope you are keeping well enjoy rest of your day ✋👍😂🤗⛱️☀️🍦
Personally i love the North Norfolk Coast, especially Wells-Next-The-Sea. I've got so many wonderful holiday memories both as a child and as an adult. I also subscribe to Walk With Me, (Tim) another UA-cam walking channel. Tim filmed there last year, and did a cracking video tour. It always lowers my blood pressure whenever i'm there, you can just shrug off all your cares and worries. If i could live there i would, it's such a calm and relaxing place. Sorry for giving a shout out to another UA-cam channel my friend. I hope you're not annoyed with me?. But i'd invite you to check out that tour around Wells-Next-The-Sea Harbour & Beach Tour. All the best my friend, keep up the good work.
@@GimbalWalkTV Cheers my friend, i'm glad you're okay with me giving him a shout out. I take it you've seen the Wells-Next-The-Sea Harbour & Beach Tour?. If not, check it out my friend. All the best.
Some questions, if I dare ask. Some online guides say the cemetery is partially closed, is that true? I’m reading Dracula’s annotated version by Klinger. There seems to have been some benches at the border of the cliff, facing the sea. I don’t know if they are reachable. Lucy walked about a mile from her house to the graveyard, where she was “assaulted” by the vampire. Any clue about Westernra’s house? It’s also told that bodies usually felt off the cliff, even in a recent period. Any story from the locals? The city is almost 1500 years old, is there anything else remaining apart from the destroyed abbey? Kind regards, and sorry for the amount of inquiries.
Hah, the sounds of the streets are much nicer than background music… but you’ll always run the risk of overheard conversations like the gentleman at 0.28….
@@GimbalWalkTV thank you so much. I'm going to Whitby next week for the weekend. I've been before on day trips. I love Whitby its a stunning seaside town, I wish I could afford to live there.
Just an opinion but you really need to tone down the size & quantity of the subtitles & channel logo. They take up too much screen space, getting in the way of seeing the sites...less is more.

It has kept its charm of old. A real sense of history is everywhere. Stunning views and very clean. A gemstone.
True
I cannot wait to get back to Whitby, makes my heart jump seeing it. Thanks again for the fantastic video.
Any time!
Right there with you

Yes definitely
I keep forgetting and missing it!
I live in Cornwall now. Lovely fishing village's but I miss Whitby a lot. Thank you for the tour.
Reminds me of York with all of those narrow streets and little shops. I'll have to visit there soon.
Yeah it does me too!
Absolutely brilliant. A very beautiful and lively place.
It really is!
Love Whitby, thanks for the memories.
One of my favourite places. I love to walk up the steps and then come down via Caedmons trod. Great video, thank you.
Our pleasure!

I read Dracula so much my book fell apart. Managed to find a new copy in a shop near the 199 steps.

It was fun to see the video 🌼
Thanks
Thank you very much. Can you do a walk and history of GREEN HAMMERTON? In Yorkshire, as my partner was born there.
18:21 went in there when I was a kid
What a great opening. Couldn’t give a monkey’s arsewipe! Welcome to Yorkshire.
ha ha I wondered if anyone would spot that 🤣

What was the date of your trip? We are visiting in September. Still warm?
How hot was it on the day you filmed this. Wondering cuz a lot of people are wearing trousers
Good question! I'm not sure - can't quite remember as it was a while ago
I know that when I film Whitby I usually only film when it's quite warm
I prefer Robertson fish n chip restaurant over the bridge.... They do lovely fish n chips, followed by a dessert if your not too full afterwards!!
Will try that one!
I agree that the chippy just over the bridge on the left is better than the magpie.
Are there any hotels in Whitby? We want to visit after seeing your video 🙂
Yes there are - however best to book very early as they book up and get more expensive the closer you get to holiday season
Do a video of Hull old town and marina
Just loved Whitby. My daughter and I travelled and stayed there. BUT I had the very worst fish and chips I have ever had. OH my!
Oh no!! That shouldn't happen! You shoud be able to have amazing fish and chips there!
I think it is important to know where to go.The locals will be your best guide
Would love to know what that first guy was talking about 😄
🤣🤣🤣
I couldn’t give a monkey’s arse wipe for overdubbed music ever again. This was wonderful.

Struggling up and down those stairs. Now imagine the poor people carrying coffins up to the church up those stairs in the days of yore!
