Are these flatfish nets? And what kind of mesh size/length are they. Commercial pot fisherman here looking to start gillnetting in area where noone is doing so
Hi, they’re called bass nets but seem to catch sole and plaice also. 4 inch or 4 1/4 inch mesh diameter, sit from the seabed to about 6 foot above. 100 yds / metres long and I link 2 together to make 200m
Hi Chris, try not to break the nets if I can help it, some break a little bit but not enough to damage the net too badly To untangle put the net over a taught line or metal bar and untwist, actually not as bad as it looks on the video. I don’t have the luxury of a mechanical net flaker that the bigger commercial boats would have, or the ones set up just for netting
Why are you getting so much weed? Are you shooting your nets across the tide / against the tide / or with the tide? Are you shooting your nets when there is too much tide? Why not haul directly into a net bin and hang any fish over the side of the bin? Would save you so much time.
Nice video mate 🎣🎣
@SMASHFISHING Can you do another collaboration with Wahoo Guernsey?

Nice to see you coming along tom crap load of weed in net but some nice fish too bream sole huss nice one 👍
