    Good timing. I was just thinking of trying the free motion option. Thanks.

    I use the ruler foot for free motion. This machine is fabulous for free motion. When I'm in class, I'm sewing while everyone else is fidgeting with their machine. This machine pretty much sets itself. Minimal adjustments! I use bottomeline thread in bobbin and a 90 titanium needle. I also change the needle frequently. This is a powerful machine. Low shank rulers are best!
    When y ou can free motion quilt without a great deal of adjustments and your machine just sings away...it's half the battle done!

      Are you able to use some of the templates I have seen with this little squarish quilting foot? I have been trying to find a universal quilting foot that works with Pfaff.

    Thank you. New FM quilter here and new to the machine too. Didn't know where to find the settings to lower the foot and now I do! Will give it another try tomorrow :)

    Hey Sara, I am not new to quilting at all; am highly experienced; however am new to 720 and Pfaff. I put on the spring foot (not the 6D but other one). I selected it after the "spaghetti" button, but then I chose a stitch from the 2.2. I immediately broke a needle because it hit my foot. OK, so I am thinking: Are these stitches for the machine to do and not me to do free motion? Do I need a basic utility stitch when I use the free motion feet? I am puzzled as to why the "spaghetti" icon was even available when those stitches were selected. It seems to me that if a foot is selected through the FM option, it should warn me if I select a stitch that won't work. I am really puzzled by this. All previous machines didn't give me stitches to select when I did free motion; only what was available. Also, I am wondering how I know which foot I would prefer between this one and the 6D. What's the diff? BTW, I am also in your Cosmo class. Just trying to get to know Pfaff machine.

    I seem to have a problem with free motion on this machine. It seems to be working perfectly well when sewing normally with feed dogs up, but when I go into free motion mode my top thread always breaks, it seems like it is catching something at the bottom ant doesn't pull up fully. I am really upset about it as the machine is great, but free motion which is one the important quilting features just doesn't work for me. Do I teen to take the machine to be serviced?

    I t keeps breaking my upper thread, I’m using Aurfuil….top and bottom and is shredding in the second tension loop before getting to the needle, (yes I’ve tried other thread also )😮if I change tension it is making no difference keeps breaking in the place with the rubber in it. Help has done this ever since I bought it. Hate this machine.

      I know it's been a month, but that's what I said, "I hate this machine". I found a top stitch needle 90/14 did the job. I also got the #6 foot. That's when I had problems with a regular needle, so topstitch imperative for that foot, and that foot is easier. The stitches were terrible with the #6 foot and no topstitch needle. I also changed the thread, thinking it keeps breaking and maybe too old?

    hello i know this is an old video but I just bought this machine and only thing I don't care for is the loud grinding noise from the thread cutter. Not sure why it sounds like this but other models in the pfaff line do not sound like that. Even my baby lock brilliant which is a $1000 machine is much quieter. anyone else notice this? all the youtube videos sound just like mine like a grinding sound so I know there is not an issue with mine

      this is an older comment, but just to assure you, my thread cutter sounds awful as well. As a matter of fact, I can’t use it for more than a couple times before the whole needle mechanism locks up! It’s in the shop now and I’ve told the technician about it, he said he’s going to take a look and maybe give me a few hints to use it better. Not sure if that thing is worth it, it just seems to screw up my bobbin thread. I don’t mind just using the manual thread cutter.

    Took me 10 minutes to turn off freemotion on my 710. That extra step in video would be appreciated

    • @nicolechambers9828
      @nicolechambers9828 2 роки тому

      @@lindaosterberg8782 I think I found the answer on the pfaff website. Turnoff the free motion, and when you make your first stitch, the feed dogs come back up.

    Wish I could have actually seen what you did with the foot. Your hand was in front and the camera was too far.

    What's the point of this video? '
    The picture is overexposed and most of the time the hand is in front of it and you can't see anything.
    Total junk
