    I just bought this yesterday!!! I absolutely LOVE this machine!!! I tried the Bernina 580 and hated the clunky presser feet and the clunky dual feed….this machine is very fun and easy and it gave me my passion for sewing back after using a crappy machine for several years….I did struggle with the top loading bobbin but as soon as I saw the feature that you don’t have to pull the bobbin thread through the top with the needle thread that the machine does it for me I was sold!!! Also with all the embroidery built in and the free motion and phaff’s dual feed system all in one would have put me in the upper amount of $6500 before tax for the Bernina 580….Not to mention, the looks of this machine are modern and pretty 🤩 and I also love the 10” sewing space beside the needle arm!!!! I am very happy person to say the least!!!!! Plus the cutting feature button and stop and go button!!!

    Thanky you so much! As always, your videos and your unfathomable pool of experience and hands-on advice are a pleasure to watch and learn from! Only (typical, high-handed German) comment from my side: The brand name "Pfaff" rhymes with "tough" :) Cheers, Martin (Wiesbaden, Germany)

      Thanks. I have a German neighbour and she pronounces it like you do too and there's no denying we pronounce it incorrectly. In New Zealand, I've never heard it pronounced any other way than the way I pronounce it (except by German people). Apparently we also pronounce Husqvarna incorrectly here but even the television advertisements pronounce it incorrectly as well :) Thanks for the tip.

    Thank you. I have 2 Faffs and really like them. I’ve been looking for 1 with the 10” throat as I quilt.

    I bought a Pfaff Quilt Expression 2.0 second-hand and I fell in love with Pfaff.
    In addition I now own a Quilt Expression 4.0, a Grandquilter, and a Hobby-lock 796! They are really nice machines.
    Congratulations on your purchase!!!

    Wow, not only a 222K but a Centennial 222K, how cool is that?
    I have a few German made Pfaffs, an antique handcrank, a 1209, 1222E and a 7570, which I think was the last model made in Germany. They are all excellent machines.

    I’d never looked into Pfaff until recently. Looking for a change from my Brother NV400, which has lots of features, but still seems lacking in some areas. I will keep watching you. Keep us posted how it’s going.
    Cheers from Auckland

    Pfaff seems to have some lovely machines. I find the older mechanical machines do not have the ply shift problem as much as the newer computerised machines. I tend to piece using my Elna SP or Juki 2010.

    Congratulations on this beautiful new machine! I went back and forth between this and the Bernina 500 series because they also have their IDT as well as embroidery. I ended up with the Bernina but decided to keep my Pfaff Passport 3.0 as my back up! This machine is a real contender, that’s for sure! I would have been happy either way, it’s just my dealer didn’t have the expression at the time I got my Bernina. I do much prefer the pivot function on the Pfaff, it’s much faster than Bernina’s.

    Congratulations Gary on the beautiful new Pfaff, excellent choice. I am also thinking of upgrading to this model,(I am currently using a vintage Tipmatic). So now I can watch you test drive it for me ! Thank you, and the paisley fabric of the shirt is very nice, regards, Ann

    I have a sweet little Singer Featherweight 221, and my new sewing machine is also a Pfaff Quilt Expression 720. I am so happy to find your Channel with more
    information on this machine. I wanted to replace my Pfaff 1473 machine, which was destroyed in a fire, so read up on the features of the newer machines -- after first trying to find a used Pfaff 1473 (especially because of the IDT) however they were ALL in the US, and with the exchange rate, although the Canadian Government does NOT charge duties for used machines -- the US sellers DO! The duty and shipping brought a $1,200.00 US used machine up to the price of a current date machine -- so I read about the 720 some more, and bought it during the Covid Lockdown from a store 2000 miles from me. I am REALLY LOOKING FORWARD to anything you will be able to demonstrate on You Tube. THANK YOU for today's overview.

    Hi, I'm a primarily featherweight user too so your review means a lot to me. I primarily sew garment and bagmaking. I am considering Pfaff 720 and have a few questions and I'd appreciate your input 1. How would you compare the quality of straight stitches of Pfaff 720 with featherweight? Do you miss featherweight in that aspect? 2. Can it handle leather and upholsery fabric (like awning fabric)? 3. I've never used Pfaff before, would the upper feed dog leave marks on leather/ vinyl? Thank you!

    Hello there, greetings from Nova Scotia, Canada. I am looking for help with the lovely rescuded Pfaff 360 which has the zig zag lever stuck at 4 o'clock spot and will not move. Any special trick how to loosen it? Thank you.

    That's a pretty nice machine, I've had a few Pfaff machines with some of those features but I really like the needle down and slight lift to turn the fabric on yours.
    I'm having a hard time understanding how it can stitch sideways, it looks like the feed dogs side movement is limited by the cut outs in the needle plate, what's the secret?

    • @InStitches
      @InStitches  2 роки тому +2

      The sideways movement of the feed dogs is restricted by the cut out in the needle plate but the machine also uses the sideways needle travel to achieve the larger designs. Thanks.

    How would you compare it to Pfaff 630 or 635? Except for the smaller sewing area size and lack for 4-directional feeding, are there any other notable differences?

    Hello,
    Is it possible to set your length of the thread cutter

      Not that I know of. It's predetermined by design. Thanks.

    The priblem with Pfaff is parts break and cannot ger repair parts.

    • @InStitches
      @InStitches  Місяць тому

      Not being able to get parts is not true for the newer models and the comment re parts breaking is not true across all machines manufactured by Pfaff.
