This and Arcane, are probably my favorite shows Netflix has released. Absolutely a masterpiece.
The comments are all saying they have never seen anything as pretty as this and so well written, and I keep thinking that must mean you haven't seen arcane.

I find it difficult to describe the overwhelming feeling, appreciation, inspiration - the visuals are mesmerizing , breathtaking; story is captivating, characters robust, well crafted - I doubt there is anything that has been achieved at this level. A job beyond well done, only thoughts of astonishments. I certainly salute all who worked on this project. Much praise and respect for your incredible talent.Very, very well done!
Only Arcane is on the Same Level. Amazing Show
It's a style of animation that started with knights of Cydonia that seems to have been made watchable for this series. Never really liked their cell shading but this one looks pretty good.
@@Mister_Herbi I love this show but comparing it to arcane is silly. It took like 8 years to make the first season because they incorporated actually painting parts of the animation on top of the 3d models. Theyre both great but arcane took years of hard work and dedication.

arcane was 2D and they layered it with oil paint color so put depth on the scenes and some scenes are 3D .
but blue eye samurai is 3D that has been colored like 2D so the movements be more natural.
both animations use 3D and 2D in different ways .
also arcane took 8 yrs to make bc of low budget they had , not bc of the details.
idk why ppl keep comparing them , these two are soooo different in everything.

Dear disney, take notes. This, THIS is how you write a good strong female lead! Mizus story is incredible and the fact she has flaws and actually goes through some brutal fights, sustains almost fatal injuries and overcomes incredible challenge makes her a likable and memorable character. The writing in this show is incredible.

Still too much plot armor, but the flaw is small enough to be compensated by the great writting of the story.
Does the word really need yet another unstoppable Girlboss? All the men are either clowns or tyrants. She wins every time, well, except for one or two hard fights. Not very original and very Disney esque. Reminds me of the he-(wo)man reboot. Check out the number of obvious bot reviews if you are in doubt, this has heavy woke main stream backing.

I'm just finishing episode 5, which is nothing short of an amazing work of art. If this episode alone doesn't receive a swath of awards, I will be surprised. This series was clearly made by a passionate storyteller. I'm addicted.
Couldn’t agree more, the way that both characters in the story were analogies of her complex character made me question whether this is actually the best thing I’ve ever watched….. although, pretty tough to top muppets treasure island come to think of it….

Really impressed with this series. It really captured my attention, and it's rare nowadays to find shows that can achieve that, for me, personally. The fight scenes were amazing, great direction of photography, the story is so good and the characters were so well balanced and memorable. Absolutely stunning show! Looking forward for season 2! The show showcases the beauty of Japan , the women , the royal family , the simple life of poor people and the immense and complex life of rich people revolving around conspiracies, politics and power and the best one is everyone in the show has a story to tell , such a well written show with captivating animation and attention to details...❤ Hands down best series of the year .

I absolutely loved this series, it was an absolute masterpiece of animation, with the writing, the directing, the visuals and the voice acting; please give it at least another season and a planned ending

This series is absolutely STUNNING, love it. Animation, story, voice acting, everything is perfection.
Absolute must-see series and a true gem on Netflix. Blue Eye Samurai completely surprised and overwhelmed me with its story and character depth, the previously unseen quality of animation (motion-captured with real life martial arts artists), and the artistic look which reminds me of Zelda and Studio Ghibli (Chihiro etc). The storytelling is complex and is surprising in every episode, the characters - including the foes - kept me excited and had me participate in their fate. A true masterpiece which kept me focused from episode 1 to 8, something I have not experienced in a long time, no matter how many new shows appear on Netflix every year.
If Netflix does not continue this series with a season 2, I will be greatly disappointed.
Blue eyed Samurai has everything I love in a great anime: A unique and captivating story line, amazing fights/action, blood, romance, interesting characters and good length episodes. I absolutely cannot wait to watch season 2.

We watched this show today with friends and had a blast. Being outside from the 'colloquial/decadent West', this is culturally aware and egalitarian writing done right, eventhough blatant, realistic, rather than annoying. Waiting for a season two!
This show was amazing! So many surprising plot points. And the main character - she is soooo interesting, so complex, strong and inspiring... Waiting for second season!

I don’t normally watch these types of Japanese animated series because I sometimes struggle with the unusual timing of laughter, grunts, groans dialogue and the strange (to me) reactions to what’s going on. Also, I don’t think I’m the target audience but Blue Eye Samurai on the other hand was really good. I loved the story, voice acting and the artwork. I was engaged from the beginning and the pacing kept me interested throughout the entire series. I hope we get series 2.

That's what I thought. I watched the first episode and it feels like something that could have totally been a 100 Million dollar, big budget live action show. Though personally I think it being animated gives it a special flare to it. I was blown away by the first episode. I haven't seen a animated show this intelligently written since Arcane.

This was the best. I watched the whole Season 1 in 2 days. NETFLIX, Please get us SEASON 2. It is an excellent series and the storyline/animatics/etc is just superb.

This series is nothing short of a masterpiece, and a masterclass both in fight choreography but also character building and unspoken storytelling. This deserves every single award it qualifies for.

I appreciate a slow burn. It’s one thing when a story is milked for money, it’s another thing when the creators FROM THE VERY START intended the story to be told over multiple seasons, which is the case with Blue Eye Samurai. You can tell as you watch that it needs more seasons, for the characters and for the story. And it deserves more seasons.
Oh, and I don’t mean to say the pace of this series is slow - it’s not. But the story is just on such a large scale that it just can’t be crammed into one season. And the main character is so set on revenge that they still haven’t learned to listen fully to the warnings about being obsessed with revenge. The main character’s character arc is still ongoing in this regard.

Thank you to everyone involved in this project. It was truly one of the best viewing experience i have had as an audience. Every frame onscreen was pure art . The world you guys created is so devastatly beautiful that i cant help at marvel at some of the scenes. Every detail , every plot everything was perfection. Its very obvious that this project has been made with a lot of passion and love and it translated well on screen . Looking forward for more of mizus story and the chaos to come.

So i just finished watching it and its one in a 20 years type of series and im not even joking, the reason it so special is because the main character is so well written, this is how you do a strong character that just happen to be a woman, i didnt even cringe at all not even a second it was good. I think she is my new favourite main character of any animated series. For the last 10 to 20 years a strong female character is strong just because, they didnt earn their power and was strong just because they are woman, but mizu is different, she has a goal, and she earn her strengh through training and development. Amazing
