    Here we are, at the end of my Collings story .... or are we? Well, probably.
    So, in this video we meet my DS1ASB (adi-sunburst) and my Waterloo WL12, and my 002h!
    I hope you found this of interest, and I'll be talking about some other stuff soon -- BUT - What would YOU like me to make a video about ?????

    Andy, you have a lovely stable of guitars, and I enjoyed your 3 part love affair with Collings. Whether you admit it or not, you are truly a member of the brotherhood of G.A.S. 😂 I am a member as well!! Cheers from Sherman, Texas, and here is wishing you a safe and Merry Christmas!🎅🎄🎸

      Sherman Texas! I've been there! I was made an "Honorary Texan, in order to play at the "Beanstock Acoustical Music Festival" at Coyote Ridge Ranch, Tom Bean, Texas, in either 2004 or 2005.!! Great memories, great friends!

    Great series and incredible collection! I really like your 0002H, it has a very rich sound and seems like the happy medium between your 00’s and dreadnoughts. I have two Collings myself - a 2013 D2HA and a 2019 Waterloo WL-14x Mh. It doesn’t get any better than Collings. Looking forward to future videos, cheers.

      Hi Jackson, the 0002h really is a gem, and as I'm playing out less now, it tends to be my favourite, certainly for teaching. And once I've got the 00 "tamed" it will be there when a shorter scale suits my old hands better. Thanks!

    Thank you for your reviews. Your previous review of your Waterloo WH-12 is what inspired me to get one myself, used and broken in already. Glad to see that you still have yours. Happy holidays from New York!

    I enjoy listening to your stories about your guitars. I hope you will have more to say at another time. I noticed a statement you made about buying guitars. I only ask, do we ever really stop buying guitars that we don't necessarily need? I know I don't. What is worse, is that my wife encourages me to keep looking for my next one. (and I only play at home for my own pleasure) Current count I think is about 10. Looking forward to your next story. thank you and Peace from across the pond.

      Hi, I hope I'll have more to say soon, as well, in fact I'm planning a comparison of my two latest acquisitions, whilst trying to minimise the fact that I've bought the same thing twice! I really should stop! Especially as it seems, the world has decided that my gigging days are over. Thank you for your interest.

    What a fantastic collection of guitars, each with their own story. As a mainly electric player, I bought an Eastman slope shouldered dread a couple of months ago, hoping that it would encourage me to play more acoustic, especially fingerstyle. Well, it certainly has, and I'm now finding out about OM and OO style guitars. Would you have any recommendations of such guitars in the Eastman range? Many thanks.

      Not really, without knowing your specific requirements. I only use 12 fret guitars with wider fretboards. See : ua-cam.com/video/7ZOTW1vp67c/v-deo.html

    You have a wonderful collection of guitars. I am a little jealous, even though I don't play a guitar. As usual great videos. George

      Hi George, fast to react! Yes, I do, and I'm grateful - took a long time, and looking for the specific item! All but but the Waterloo bought used - mostly via ebay, and the 0002h was from a dealer. Thanks as always.

    Andy
    On your secound DS1 that you initially pased on and then ended up buying you said that was "Sunburst "? Note i am a bit color blind but to me it looks like Collings "Western" color. Is it indeed sunburnt or western? Either way its a beautiful guitar and more importantly wonderful sounding. Also, you didn't specify if the top was Sitka or Adi? On your secound DS1. Thank you again for your time.

      Hi, it is a DS1ASB which I understand means DS1 with adi AND sunburst. The burst is not great - a little pale, but in 2003, maybe they hadn't thought of differing terms back then.

    I hate the❤ slotted headstocks…no sure why. Please consider a Boucher guitar… experience with it?

    • @SillyMoustache
      @SillyMoustache  6 місяців тому

      Hi Jasper, They are my preference, simply because they tend to come with 12 fretters, which tend to come with the wider fretboards that I need. In this video I explain why I find them superior: ua-cam.com/video/XqhmSX8Zuss/v-deo.html
      I am "aware" of Boucher guitars but never encountered one in the flesh (wood?). Thy have one dealer in the UK, so ... you never know! although I think I have enough guitars ... for a while! Thanks for watching.

    I believe you don't talk about the differences between tonewoods bzw. rosewood vs mahogany. Do you have any preferences or observations regarding these two?

    • @SillyMoustache
      @SillyMoustache  5 місяців тому

      Hi Mr Turnover, or may I call you Apple? I have both mahogany and rosewood backed guitars, and whilst they are slightly different tonally, so are similar instruments, but thanks, I will do something about tone woods.
