Hello - the boat, the Poem, is a good reminder of the hard work it takes to keep up with a wooden boat. Congratulations on the gift of the Poem. Cheers.
A gifted boat for the Chanel wowsers! Yes a poem is needed kind of the old man and the sea, everything about him was old except his eyes and they were the same color as the sea and we're cheerful and undefeated Ernest Hemingway
Roses are Red Violets are Blue To the followers of Geordie This boat is gifted to you! Lloyd, that's a beautiful thing you have done! God Bless You!!!!
Awesome Opportunities ahead. What a wonderful gift from a wonderful individual. Thank you, Lloyd your songs will be sung through the ages, what a Poem.
Lloyd what a generous man! Poem will be a great addition to the channel. I can not wait to see what she comes to be in her new role. I for 1 would love a B&B for boat building geeks like us.
Hi Peter You have motivated me to restore our 47ft Storm Strutter. Last spring we cruised from Ladysmith to Northern B C, we took 10 days and ancored out every night. Our boat only burned $450 in diesel. We just used the tide to our advantage.
Sometimes hax can be the answer, great and simple on how you pulled that floor straight! Maybe when you want to "temporary" fit things together you should actually fit them together to start with. It only happens to the best ;) Don't lose track of things on Geordie now you are gifted a new Monk, a very great gesture though of your friend. I wish him the best of times with his new endeavor!
Peter, you have become a true yachtsman. You now have the responsibility of three boats. no, four counting Zephyrs (I'm also counting your tender). As a wooden boat owner and past commodore of the Classic Yacht Association I can, with out hesitation proclaim that you have lost your "friggin" mind. But such a state or loss is a wonderful diversion from sanity. My own has gone on for 35 years! Cudo's to Lloyd. 🤪
To be gifted Poem is something truly amazing, and incredibly generous of Lloyd. Looking forward to see where this goes. Lots of ideas, but I think a lot will depend on how much red tape / logistics would be involved with things like insurance etc. depending on how you make use of this beautiful cruiser. Cheers, T
There once was a man from Nantucket..........no, that's not a poem. Anyway, Lloyd you are a very generous person. All the luck with the Sprinter and we would love to watch the refit if you are game for that.
A very generous gift of Poem by Lloyd. I would be very interested to see Lloyd fit out his Sprinter Van and take it out on road trips. If he doesn't intend to have a you tube channel then perhaps he could send occasional short videos from wherever he is as a catch up and show the clips on this channel and call it 'Post cards from Lloyd' or something.💭🍻
What wonderful news to hear and most generous gift! My boyfriend and I have watched your adventure for years and are excited to see the next chapter! Pure poetry, eh? Speaking of, I won a contest for my POEM when I was in the first grade - wanna hear it? Here it goes... "Pussy willow, pussy willow, soft as a cat's tail. Sits on the bush, in the summer's light." That was my poem, cheers to yours!
Just finished putting in a teak deck on my boat " Miss Toni" and if you can measure how much you need I believe I have enough left over to cover your deck.
Having now seen this in context (I just arrived here after starting at the beginning of the all TWG playlist) it seem Lloyd hardly knew Poem. I'm glad you are able to give it a good home.
Very cool, a working school it could be To share adventures with you and me People learning, people staying Poem just might be a sight to see Congrats Peter!
I will be signing up to join you for a cruise on M/V POEM. I’ve been thinking about how nice it would be to spend some time in that area. I’ve spent about 10 days on a 50 foot sailboat in the area several years ago and had a wonderful time. Thanks so much the Lloyd for doing this for the channel.
What a surprise that turned out to be! I was expecting something like “More Electrical”! What a generous and amazing gift that is. Thanks to Lloyd from all of us who get to keep watching the channel and see all the new variations the addition of POEM will add!
I seem to remember that sole going down and at the time it being 'very temporary' 🙂 it's always the same with these projects, once that temporary fix is in place there are always more interesting/exciting projects to do. 😄 Glad the frame-fix was, in the end, very straightforward and it shows that you did the right thing by fixing it the way you did. The news about Poem is just amazing, can''t wait to see how the story develops further
Show me the way to go POEM, I'm tired and I wanna go to bed, I had me a Beer of the Week about an hour ago and its gone right to my head!! Fantastic generosity. Sean
omg! Lloyd is a star. Poem is a great wee boat. we are so looking forward to what you do Peter. Sarah and I have been talking for years about coming over....please book us in for a week or 2! 😊
Such a wonderful man Loyd is for gifting MV POEM to TWG channel! Looking forward to learning more about this gift. I'll never get to Victoria, but I'm sure other followers of the channel will.
Congrats on the big news Peter. Poem is a great way to make whatever-it-is-you-do-here much more participatory, enjoyable and helpful to your community. Looking forward to what comes!
I saw a poem in my mind and couldn't see the words. I thought some more and the poem was floating not on a page but in the water. As a written poem has rhyme so did this floating vision. Its timbers and planks fit together as smoothly as words upon a page. Great news. All the best, Hal
What an amazing addition to the Geordie chanel, so many possibilities 😊 On a different note, to help get rid of the oxidation on the mahogany, try a weak solution of Oxalic Acid, it works wonders 👍
Great problem solving, Peter. Yet another informative and entertaining episode, and what a blockbuster of an ending ! MV Poem added to the TWG fleet ! WOW what a fantastic dilemma; I’m sure an answer/answers will become clear. All the best for your future travels Lloyd, may you enjoy many more years chasing your dream.
What a great gesture that Lloyd would gift M/V Poem to your organization, I'm sure you will get some great use out of it for the channel. Looking forward to the live stream tomorrow. A Poem of a gift and a gift of the Poem!
Hi Peter. Happy to see you. Hope the weather improves. Dont let the cockpit thwart you. Just finish the finishing and be plumb done. Have fun and see you next week. P.S. Don't PUNish me for my POEM
Peter, congrats on the great concept to make Poem part of your channel. Cruising on it with my wife Lorraine would be amazing but we are on the opposite coast in Chester N.S. Really enjoy watching every episode as we have an old wooden powerboat ourselves. Her name is the Wild Goose and she is a 1973 Rampart 48.
Be careful Peter! Start collecting boats and spreading the word, you could end up like my old friend Dick Wagner. He was much loved and spread the joys of wooden boats worldwide. Next step is to collect every Beatle Cat in the neighborhood and open a boat livery.
I can absolutely see why you would like your door be straight! And once you pulled that deck up right, The door closed well, and all was great. Things were just like they ought to be. And suddenly you got great news: While hoppy beer ran down your throat Lloyd gifted “Poem", his nice boat To have some visitors afloat And walk a few days in your shoes. Hey, when the word of the week is “poem” - why not write a small one!
Oh I would so fly out there and stay on Poem, air b&b style. That would be an experience to help out on mv geordie and to see Victoria BC. You should do a lottery or something, great idea and that was so nice of Lloyd to offer his ship up.
Oh no - its mothers day tomorrow in England so I will miss the live stream {out for a meal with the family} but what a dream - to stay on POEM and cruise around a bit wow someone is going to be very lucky ! How wondefully generous of Loyd to do that
That is amazing news, and enormously kind of Lloyd. What a thing to do! Looking forward to how the channel will evolve, and I totally get Lloyd's desire to take his cruising over the road for a time. Also, sign me up for brightwork. Will sand for lodging. I need a healthy outlet for my polishing fetish. If I Brasso a hole in another antique coffeepot my wife will kill me.
At least the twist didn't start at the keel. I have seen a sailboat so hogged that you could see it in every cabinet and door. MV Poem, what an opportunity. Monks are certainly of the most handsom and practical style craft designed and built. I rather had expected a project case had been donated.
Interesting episode. I’m not sure why you don’t realize that exterior (and even interior wood) will benefit form using epoxy to join/bond the panels and you NEED to seal all sides of the panels. This simply is the key to stability and helps minimize the refinishing efforts.
I've been a Patreon supporter (not under this screen name) since I witnessed the generosity of your subscribers that helped get you the new Beta Marine engine. You might never have a million subscribers. I used to think that was the mark of success. Now I see how 25,000 subscribers can mean so much more. Your channel is immensely successful. It will grow...hopefully at a steady pace. I see so many UA-camrs rise too fast. Then they get greedy and we have to watch them promote VPNs and leather wallets in the middle of their videos. I lose sooo much respect for those UA-camrs. Are you making a few dollars doing what you love or are you commercializing your talent? You gotta pick one. You are choosing correctly. As for the new boat...see if you can upgrade the technology to something (maybe electric propulsion) using local college kids? Let 4 of them live aboard while working on it. Or switch it up and let them work on Geordie while you live aboard Poem. Best bet is to finish Geordie, sell it and cruise on Poem and make travel videos and interviews with locals. You seem personable. Good luck either way.
Peter, amazing! The armada of ships grows, soon off to the carribean with Kaptain Peter at the bow, wind in hair and beard, pointing his cutlass to the target and shouting: "Aargh, me mates. Po'em!"
There's nothing more wonderful than a beautiful Poem.
Are you kidding me? What a man.
Hello - the boat, the Poem, is a good reminder of the hard work it takes to keep up with a wooden boat. Congratulations on the gift of the Poem. Cheers.
Brilliant on the door fix! 🤙
A gifted boat for the Chanel wowsers! Yes a poem is needed kind of the old man and the sea, everything about him was old except his eyes and they were the same color as the sea and we're cheerful and undefeated Ernest Hemingway
Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
To the followers of Geordie
This boat is gifted to you!
Lloyd, that's a beautiful thing you have done! God Bless You!!!!
a poem for the channel. one that doesn't rhyme. what a gift. what a responsibility
What could be better than a poem as a home
Awesome Opportunities ahead. What a wonderful gift from a wonderful individual. Thank you, Lloyd your songs will be sung through the ages, what a Poem.
M/V Poem is a very generous gift! Quite a nice fit for Travels With Geordie fleet of Ed Monk motor cruisers. Looking forward to the tour!
Measure top to bottom. Side to side and give up 1/8" and cut out a door blank and see where you stand with that. AYE
Wow! So cool of him. The name fits the gift! It will have a poem of a life that boat.
Spring on the briny,
Aft lockers will be shiny,
Lloyd has gifted Poem,
Buddys you will roam,
And the news anew,
Viewers might be crew !
Peter and Lloyd, what an amazing gift!! Look forward to seeing the journey of MV Poem along with MV Geordie!
Peter, one boat is a boat but two or more boats is a fleet. Now you are going to have way to much fun with your fleet.
Lloyd what a generous man! Poem will be a great addition to the channel. I can not wait to see what she comes to be in her new role. I for 1 would love a B&B for boat building geeks like us.
We all have lazy, what we all don’t have is that view and that great hair.steadily the boat will travel.
Hi Peter

Love hearing your plans for Poem. Looking forward to see how it all ends up.
Peter, you have become a true yachtsman. You now have the responsibility of three boats. no, four counting Zephyrs (I'm also counting your tender). Poem is great name, looking forward to see its future on the channel and maybe in person!
Cheers, T
Awesome news!! Now you can rip the bathroom out that you hate so much but with a place to stay while doing the work.
Truly a perfect Poem. Congratulations to both you and Lloyd!!!!
And WOW! Another Monk added to the Geordie fleet!! So very very cool. Congrats and beyond hats off to Loyd. There are no words. Incredible.
Incredible generosity on Lloyds part to be gifted Poem! Count me in! I’ve dreamed of cruising your neck of the woods! Thank you Lloyd and Peter!
Oh WOW 😲. Stay safe and we'll see you next week.
Poems are awesome, Having one that floats is even better. "XXL"
If I was an artist I would love to write a poem about your boats.
MV Poem is poetry in motion
That is pretty awesome of Lloyd to do that. I will be back in the water soon, we need to get together and raft up.
Fantastic video as usual Peter. So awesome of Loyd to gift Poem.
There once was a man from Nantucket..........no, that's not a poem. Anyway, Lloyd you are a very generous person. All the luck with the Sprinter and we would love to watch the refit if you are game for that.
Hi Peter
Excellent news about Poem. That little trick to square up the door was true POETtry in motion.!!👍👍
A very generous gift of Poem by Lloyd. I would be very interested to see Lloyd fit out his Sprinter Van and take it out on road trips.
If he doesn't intend to have a you tube channel then perhaps he could send occasional short videos from wherever he is as a catch up
and show the clips on this channel and call it 'Post cards from Lloyd' or something.💭🍻
'Post cards from Lloyd' Love it Love it Love it!
That certainly was a shocker three monks together would write a poem but cannot find my muse lol
Talk about selling the POEM for a song, wow! And certain to be in good hands with you, Peter!
Peter what a wonderful gift to the Group. We’d love to buddy cruise for a day or two (once we get there from Australia)!
An new Poem for Peter’s life…
What wonderful news to hear and most generous gift! My boyfriend and I have watched your adventure for years and are excited to see the next chapter! Pure poetry, eh? Looking forward to see what adventures “Poem” takes the channel to.
Cannot wait to see what lies ahead for POEM!! Incredible generosity, and what an awesome addition to the channel.
Just finished putting in a teak deck on my boat " Miss Toni" and if you can measure how much you need I believe I have enough left over to cover your deck.
I started to craft an ode to Lloyd
But it turned into a “Tender” Poem!!
Awesome 👍
Poem.
Yay, Peter you are a genius, good job!
Having now seen this in context (I just arrived here after starting at the beginning of the all TWG playlist) it seem Lloyd hardly knew Poem. I'm glad you are able to give it a good home.
What a magnificent gift POEM is! What a great friend Lloyd is to do this.
Very cool, a working school it could be
To share adventures with you and me
People learning, people staying
Poem just might be a sight to see
Congrats Peter!

What great gift from Lloyd passing Poem forward for the TWG community to injoy

What a generous and amazing gift that is. Thanks to Lloyd from all of us who get to keep watching the channel and see all the new variations the addition of POEM will add!
poem.. I hope this new partnership is cool. Best wishes
That loose cabin sole reminds me of a couple of Rover seats lol
I seem to remember that sole going down and at the time it being 'very temporary' 🙂 it's always the same with these projects, once that temporary fix is in place there are always more interesting/exciting projects to do. 😄
Glad the frame-fix was, in the end, very straightforward and it shows that you did the right thing by fixing it the way you did.
The news about Poem is just amazing, can''t wait to see how the story develops further
Nothing like solving a problem, makes the beer taste better I swear
Air bnb it while it’s sitting at the dock to help cover running costs.
Show me the way to go POEM, I'm tired and I wanna go to bed, I had me a Beer of the Week about an hour ago and its gone right to my head!! Fantastic generosity. Sean
Congrats on getting poem!
wow..just wow congrats with poem now availbale to you and the channel
Wow!!! What a geezer Loyd is. Now you have a flotilla... Admiral ;-). (ps for the avoidance of doubt Geezer = Dude in the UK)
Thank you Lloyd !
I have an idea. Trailer Poem down to a Grear Lake and do the Great Loop.
omg! Lloyd is a star. Poem is a great wee boat. we are so looking forward to what you do Peter. Sarah and I have been talking for years about coming over....please book us in for a week or 2! 😊
Since I started watching this channel several years ago, I have fantasized about a Monk B&B. Poem would be a sweet birthday trip!
Peter... AIR BNB.. make a little scratch for your boat.. maybe get some of that teak you want ;)
I saw a poem in my mind and couldn't see the words. I thought some more and the poem was floating not on a page but in the water. As a written poem has rhyme so did this floating vision. Its timbers and planks fit together as smoothly as words upon a page. Great news. All the best, Hal

I just discovered your channel. I love wooden boats, and am excited that Poem will be part of your boat family. Cheers!
Wow - kids in training. Learning woodcraft and sailing...
What a great gesture that Lloyd would gift M/V Poem to your organization, I'm sure you will get some great use out of it for the channel. Looking forward to the live stream tomorrow. A Poem of a gift and a gift of the Poem!
Wow being given POEM for free is so awesome, congrats!
Congrats on adding POEM to the TWG fleet.

I Think POEM could make a great floating Air BNB!
Thanks Peter for another great episode. Great to see how you fixed the door problem. Great news about Poem - another Home Sweet Home. Cheers, Nathan.
