Great instructions. I found the interior few T25 screws on the filter case NEED an extension for the driver to get to them. I taped the socket to my extension with some electrical tape to avoid dropping the socket into the engine. Those deep screws grab onto the socket when it's at the slight angle needed to work them loose and don't want to let go.
Thanks for this very helpful video, I just want to ask, how important is it to tighten the brace to specific torque spec. Does it really matter? because I currently do not own a torque wrench.
Thanks for the video! Gonna use this to do my filters when it’s time 👍 Is the charcoal filter also a preventative maintenance item? How many miles should one be good for?
I have a 2015 228xi that I want to change the air filter on. There is a rubber coated bolt dead center of the engine compartment that I have to access to undo The air filter compartment. I can’t seem to figure out how. Any suggestions? Thx
Thanks! Just finished the job on my m2c and your video was very helpful.
Well done!!

Great tip!
One of the better directions to do this. Appreciated how easy you described how to do it!
Happy to help 8)
I have several BMWs and this is incredible. Thanks so much
Happy to help!
Thanks for letting us know what to do. For what it's worth, my 2018 m4 comp has 6 bolts up top, all the same size.
Nice.. yeah its weird how some models have 2 or 3 at the top of the brace!

@elias1208 torque values are pretty low so tight but not over cranked should be fine in general
Love your content! I'm curious on if there really was a noticeable sound difference to you.
Very little.if any difference from just the air filters. It takes different intakes to really change that.

Technically you never replace the charcoal filters.. I actually took mine out! 8)
@@BMWDIYGuy Thanks for the quick response bro
The way you're moving the entire intake pipe and talking about 02 sensors making this job way more than it really is
Have a day off man 🤣
Thanks 👍🏽
Happy to help!
So what is the lifetime of these? Do they need any maintenance or you just replace them after a specific time
The can be cleaned.. I do so usually once a year
@@BMWDIYGuy thank you sir

Sorry, I dont as I havent worked on one of those.
Dropped the 10mm bolt connecting the coolant expansion tank to the carbon strut……
Sad panda.. easy to replace but a pain to fish out of the lower pan.
in EU these filters don't exist, I also went with BMC filters, I always go BMC , never liked KNN filters, as they r oily, and mbc are dry :)
Great feedback and very happy so far!
