Painting on HUGE Canvases (Pt. 2)

- Hey guys! Today I am going to finish the BIG art project that I started on last week. I'm going to be painting on a huge canvas (well, 3 huge canvases actually) and using them as custom decor in my new house! I am going to be attempting to do abstract art with this painting. Abstract artwork is my favorite style for home decor and I figured it would be the easiest to do on a large scale. As a beginner with abstract art, this was not as easy as I thought it would be, but I think it still came out really cool. I ended up using the palette knife technique and used a mixture of acrylic paint and joint compound (which is a way to get acrylic paint to look thicker). I definitely recommend trying it out if you want to make some DIY home decor.

Hey! my name is Moriah (pronounced muh-rye-yuh 😂 ) and this is my channel....obviously. I'm 26 and like doing anything creative...and being snarky.....just a lil. i love how well you could get the colors to match with the pillows but not in a way that the room is filled with the same few colors, it just completes the room so well and you did amazing!

Paint circles and blogs of different colors around the canvas then messily outline the blobs with a black marker.

I didn't like the paint swirls at first because I thought it looked too busy. But once it was hung up above the fireplace, I changed my mind and I really liked it. A good background really helps bring a painting to life!

@Daizy & Cupcake In the context of creating those art pieces, she was making them for herself. Noone commissioned her to paint them. And @wackfairy she was not paid to make the art to hang on her own walls. Doesn't matter if she enjoys it or not, the definition of "professional" is that its a job where you are paid to do said thing. So I was saying she's correct that she isn't a professional because that doesn't mean "skilled" like some people think it means. So like she's a professional youtuber and does artistic stuff for the videos, but its not the same as being a professional artist where you sell the pieces you make to another person. There are plenty of fantastic artists and craftspeople who can produce a similar (or even better depending on context) piece of art than a professional artist but they choose not to sell anything they make so aren't professionals - its just not their profession (job). Nothing wrong with that at all. I actually think its really beneficial for Moriah because she can create whatever she wants to and so has total freedom of creative expression. Whereas if she actually were a professional artist she'd have to be creating what a client wanted & Moriah would probably get way too bored having to do that. She's really lucky she found her calling doing these youtube videos because it lets her just show us her hobbies and lets her create as many random fun things as she wants and get money from people watching her do it.
It would be cool if she painted giant portraits of her characters and hung it up in her art room.

She may not feel like a professional, but she is. She makes her living on her art and that is the definition of being a 'professional'....also, plz....the word you want is 'YOU'RE'!!! the moment at 0:44 I literally rewatched so many times. BEAUTIFUL editing, I laughed so hard. PERFECTION, moriah. I'm a fairly new fan (within the past 2 years), but I've been on a bit of a binge, and I think I've probablly watched every one of her videos, to the point where I actually stree over how Im gonna get through the week withut any more new moriah vids.
