Such clever wit and dialogue, exposure of human nature fabulous costumes reminicent of classic fashion and the times the movie was made in beautifull fabrics and colour combinations ect and such a portrayal of social classes and the desperation and humility that a woman like Becky didplsys with pomp and vigor and ruthless determination to forge a pathway for herself ! One cant help but feel a sense of sympathy and redpect at the same time for her and the dtsion she occupies and her uneavering cal CH ulstion to beat the aristocrasy and social limitations and predjudice that she was up against .Some might day she was cold and calculating but in some ways honest and simply navigating through perilous cicumstances !!!! Sharpe indeed but not completly unfeeling ! I enjoyed the modern version of this as well and thought Reece Witherspoon gave a Stella performance along with the rest of the cast all so suited to their roles i thought ,! This is a timeless tale of those eith and those without and one womans journey to rise above the otherwise limiting and barren circumstances that so many woman had to endure in the past !!!!!! Subjected to the social authority and limitations of the times i think !!!!! It is i think do inyeresting as it exposes so many attitudes ranging throughout the characters! Thank goodness times have changed for some but women are still forging forward to gain independance and respect and liberation from circumstances that inhibit thete feedom and dafety and security and thst of their children and families as we see in various circumstances around the world still today in this so called modern progressive state of play ! Oppression of Human rights ! War Poverty Homelessness ect ! ✌️💓
