- Highlights of the Razorbacks wild 96-94 overtime victory over the Orange in the first meeting ever between the two programs. Syracuse would lead 82-81 with four seconds left and Lucious Jackson of the Orange would steal a Hogs in-bounds pass and Lawerence Moten would call timeout. However, Syracuse had no timeouts left and thus resulted in a technical foul and Scotty Thurman would hit one-of-two free throws to send it to overtime where Arkansas prevailed.

Yeah, there's no media bias against Arkansas. When Lucious Jackson intercepted the inbounds pass, the announcer yelled, "We got it!".
Lol lol
I think it's he got it.
This tournament was giving me a heart attack. I was in 5th grade and every game was intense. Do they have to keep showing that Missouri score? Screw you Tyus Edney and Missouri. If Missouri just doesn't play terrible defense at the end, UCLA goes down and their cheating Jim Harrick's can't get to the title game to beat the Hogs.
As a die-hard Arkansas Razorbacks fan this was one hell of a ballgame I have nothing but the utmost respect for Syracuse I watched a lot of their games growing up but as a die-hard Razorback fan and to the guy that said he did not call a timeout you can clearly see the guy called timeout woo Pig sooie
Fisherman Fro I'm a die hard to Scotty Thurman who was my fav on this team saved us
This game was intense and such a heartbreaker! The announcer says Jackson called the to but it was Moten which can clearly be seen. Arkansas was a beast those years!
Hands down one of the best basketball games I have ever saw. WPS!!
Man I miss the talent level in college bball during the 90's.. the Big East in the mid 90's was unreal. I wish they made the kids stay 2 years.
I think Lee Wilson scored more points in this game than the rest of his career combined.
A lot of good players on both teams!
Almost 20 yrs and it just hit me that Moten called the timeout.
They had us. Want ever forget this 1.
Lawrence Moten was the SU player who called time out.
I'm a die hard Razorback fan but will always have respect for the Cuse
frofro73 I'm a die hard two we was too cocky this tournament no way we shouldn't have repeated would have went as one of the best teams of all time
This was actually bigger than what Weber did because Syracuse had the game won
Oh man! 2:25 Missouri vs. UCLA...a game that will in infamy for Mizzou fans.
I've watched that play at the end of regulation several times and I'm just now noticing the announcer saying "Oh...WE got it!" That's even worse that Al McGuire yelling 'It's Good' at the end of the UNC game in Pine Bluff.
The zone was killing Arkansas! I mean, "killing"! Big Nasty fouled out early! Cuse had Moten and John Wallace! And if not for that Moten timeout, Cuse was definitely Final Four-bound!
this was a classic case of the Orange playing just ok during the regular season.. but actually were much improved in the Tournament.. this team couldve definitely went to the Finals, had it not been for the phantom timeout.
The next year they went deep in the tournament.
Lawrence Moten ws smooth on top of smooth smh Big East ball
Arkansas had a great team that year..Syracuse is consistently competitive for decades now #cuse
Beheim need to play man
they pulled a C-WEBB in the end
Great video, thanks for the post. I know Jackson had a good game, but he has to make that pass to moten at the end, at least to help him atone for the timeout.
this game hurt just as much as the 1987 Championship.
slikdarelic Ugh I remember that game
yea.. i just felt this game more bcuz the tournament was the only time Syracuse started playin well.. they had finally come together.. they couldve went all the way had they won this game.
I wonder how good Joe Girard is..I'm pretty optimistic
.you dont score that much by accident
You have to a little luck repeating or making to a Champion ship game, but the Hogs was my team dating back with Oliver Miller, Todd Day and Lee Mayberry. If Arkansas could've pulled off back to back. You would have to put them up there with UNLV as all time greatest team ever. Even UNLV to didn't get that second one either . Just my opinion.
LOL!Go Hogs Go!
Sweet Lousicuis Jackson with the timeout! Boom!
It was Moten that actually called the timeout
I'm a Long time Cuse fan from Louisiana and I gotta say.... I STILL DON'T think Lucius called that time out. I think back to how good both the 94/95 and 95/96 teams actually were. Great underrated talent. John Wallace is one of my All Time favorite players EVER.
Correction Moten. See I still don't believe it so much I can't even get the person right. LOL
Im a long time Razorback fan from Louisiana and he DID call the timeout.
-- Also, Hogs win in ALL sports, not just basketball.
WPS! 🐗🐗🐗
+SL504NYY26 uh, look at Boeheim's mouth after the call at the 10:10 mark, he tells Wallace and I quote, "you did it, yeah, you did it" case closed the player choked, should have been called for traveling in the first place, you cannot just lay there on the court with the ball in your hands and it not be traveling...oh well, the game turned out the way it should have...Hogs win...that Razorback team was unbelievably good...ran up on some rough times lately, though
Lawrence Moten called that timeout
LOL! You might be right.
No it was Loucious Jackson who called the timeout.
Lawrence Moten called the timeout
Ha ha jackson pulled a "chris webber" and lost the game for sillycuse! Love it! ..WPS..GHG!!
This is actually worse because Syracuse had the game won. With Weber Michigan was down so no guarantee they would have scored
Lawrence Moten called the timeout. Not Jackson
Rigged
They gave Arkansas their first 3 games in this tournament. Jackson didn't call the timeout, but #21 Lawrence Moten did
Imagine what these 2 teams would do to teams today
