About driving of a semi-automatic ever! There is no coasting permitted with these gearboxes and there should be at least a 2-second pause going from one gear to the next, otherwise the life of the gearbox will very short.
@@transportemetropolitanomon4573 The gearbox does not have correct lubrication if coasting in neutral, causing failure. There is no need to coast in neutral with this type of gearbox/transmission.
@@transportemetropolitanomon4573 The reason for a 2-second pause before changing gear is because of how the gear system actually works. The gearbox is pneumatically controlled and the pause between gears is needed to allow the previous gear to disengage. If there is no pause then the next gear and engage before the previous one has disengaged resulting in two different gears trying to be engaged at the same time. This is very very bad for the gearbox and will cause rapid failure resulting in expensive repairs that will take a while to do, depending on how much damage has happened. The bus may start to have difficulty climbing any hills because the gearbox starts to slip inside, indicating damage has already happened. It is possible for the gearbox to fail suddenly and the bus will not be able to move, except by being towed. I have known a bus get stranded and not be able to move. I have travelled on a bus with a damaged gearbox and it made loud howling noises during gear change and then suddenly go into gear with a violent shudder that shook the whole bus. The worst is that the damaged gearbox will suddenly fail, leaving the bus stranded and unable to move, except by towing. I would like none of these bad things to happen to you, which is why I try to explain.

You should never flat change these, as you will select 2 gears at once. Your not allowing the brake bands to disengage.
