I have to retract my comment earlier . It is not a 51 . They welded in the tail lights on the fins . And 51 didn't have a trunk deck lid. Absolutely a cool ride .
Wow! Looked like you really had your hands full with this one. Seemed to be a lot of play in that steering wheel. Glad that throttle didn't stick and you made it back safely.
OH, THIS MADE MY MORNING MAN! LOL...by the way, every time I wear the shirt you gave me through Jessica, I get asked if I work there at least once lol..Thanks again.
Hi , Nick . I hope you don't mind me commenting ? I got bad doo-doo from one 'guy' for daring to contribute my 65 years of true passion of hot rods , customs and drag-racing machinery , on somebody else's site ! Thank you so much . I enjoyed every moment of this . I felt I was riding along with you . As you said ," what a blast ! " I'm going to have to dig out a few Hot Wheels 'Jaded' , and build them as proper sky-high gassers like yours . Their 'stance' ( oooh 😟) is way down in the weeds , and probably far more efficient at speed . However , most 'traditions' are way cooler to me . Helps with weight distribution at the launch , right ? Loved it . Cheers from Pete in UK 🤓
Them good old boys don't know any better!!!! they put all that money in a body that's ready to fall off the chassis!!!! probably welded with coat hangers!!!
Ohio George signature on firewall .... Famous drag racer in the Gasser class wars during the 1960s.. Campaigned a 33 Willys among others.. Bet your dad has a Hot Wheel of his 33" Ohio George Montgomery.
Those cars are cool I remember hearing about Henry j s could be ordered through Sears and roebuck catalog gasser are bad ass I'm building a 57 two door post belair with a 454
Man that is cool. F***n Love it. - If I ever get to go on holidays again without a mask or vax passport I'll stop in on my way through. Cheers from Ontario, Canada.
Love that gasser 53! I would like to have that car despite the rust and bumpy ride, its a dragstrip gasser that is STREETABLE . I don't mind the open headers, I'm hard of hearing!!! That car must really come from CINCINNATI Ohio as the doors state since there is Ohio George autograph on the firewall. George is the famous gasser racer from the 60s with his 427 SOHC 33 Willys. He hails from Dayton Ohio which is close to Cincinnati
Wow, very cool.. A horn and you're ready for the streets.. Nick do u know what kind of valve covers are on this engine? Nice ride...Remember, Loud pipes saves lives... And that gasser will save a lot..
What a cool little brutal machine! A true flying coffin ⚰! 😅 Gassers are so cool, I'll never fully believe they were built this way because they would go faster, I'm pretty sure the first person to build one, did because he thought it was bonkers! Then sure, maybe technology at the time made it so that by pushing the engine as far back as possible, tried and true method, coupled with the weird suspension set up, you could skim a few tenths at the starting line, but who knows really? Anyhow, I love how rough and basic this thing is, it sounds raspy as fk, and it rips! It's so loud and vibrates so much that doing 60 probably feels like 180!!😅 I really want one one day, this would have been perfect, specially at that price, a real steal! Thanks for sharing and making us dream a little.. 👌🏻🖤🏴☠️
S.E.G.A. will be interested in this one.... I love it,but the only place around me that I could drive it would be Beautiful Byron Illinois.THE PLAYGROUND OF POWER DRAGSTRIP.......👍
Today is full of Adrenaline Orgasms!! I bet it'd pull the front wheels up on a good launch!! No turn signals needed on the track, it's straight! 🚗🔥💨~L8r's!
OMG! I guess the law enforcement people in your area know you and give you a pass. Around here I would get pulled over daily driving that thing! But it is so COOL! Who needs a horn? If you can't hear that thing coming you couldn't hear a horn either. The flaws just give it character! No problem clearing the chassis cam either!
Hey Buddy,, wow I have been waiting for the T-drive ever since I saw it on the lot.. Congrats you have B**LS to ride that Beast on the road.. Great Job Washington State
Sounds awesome 👍 is a "gasser" street legal in the USA ? I don't think she would be street legal on this side of the pond. Never driven one, sure looks seriously good fun 👍 🇺🇸 🇬🇧
Yeah yeah you can drive a Gasser as long as you have insurance and plates by the way nothing's legal in England unless you're a Muslim then you can get away with whatever you want
1952 threw 1954 had taillights in the fins that's a 1951 body use to have a 6cyl in in chrome around the windows Kaiser club you can get all new rubber
We remember this car! It was local to us in Columbus, OH. New owner will have fun with this one :)
Great maple motors video!
I found this car for sale last night in Batavia, Ohio. The guy is asking like 27k for it now.

@@oldscoolcooldiecast1879 BAM...LOL
Nice chassis work
Now that is a hot rod! From inside the engine sounds great! I use to run a 63 Nova. Similar but not a gasser.
You don’t see any old Henry J’s. That is so cool.
purely practical...... the cockpit sound deadening was perfect.....hey it idles nice ....hey it has brakes
Now THAT would be fun to drive.
Always wanted an old Henry J. Nice ride
Man o Man I remember back in the 60's my father spent days building one ,very nice find brother, loud a$$ vehicle. 🍺👍
Yeah this car put a smile on my face! Gasssser!

I'm sure it is a blast to drive, but the walk around probably what everyone expected.
Definitely a very nostalgic car. I don’t know how safe it is to drive but would be a great museum piece or great addition to a car collection.
I always think it’s a good idea to have the battery right next to the fuel cell 🤔
Them good old boys don't know any better!!!! they put all that money in a body that's ready to fall off the chassis!!!! probably welded with coat hangers!!!
That’s where it’s located in most drag cars. The battery in this car is in a battery box specifically designed for this application.

This thing is wild lol......Something to have fun with out in the plains or somewhere rural.
That heap puts the FU in fun. Would love to own it. 👍
Absolutely incredible ride. One helluva deal on this one.
Old school gasser awesome

Congrats! A true hot rod Nick👍1st time I’ve seen you drive by that shop to show your ride off!! Haha-too cool 💥
Somebody didn't do a very good job welding. However the Drive Trane is Amazing. That alone is worth $15k!

What, no full balls on launch? I'm disappointed. Looks like a fun ride just the same and a Henry J too boot! Fewer than 2500 were built.
Need to do test drive at the strip see the car in action

You could tell whoever done it underneath knew the good parts and was neat where it counts.350,400 turbo,12 bolt.
Good info
Hey , I met Ohio George Montgomery with his un-chopped Baby Blue '33 in '64 here in UK . What a privilege . Cheers . Stay safe . 🤓
I wouldn't change a thing I would fix the lights and call it good !
15,900 that's the weekly gas bill.right? Rock On.

Yeah if the throttle don't stick wide open LOL

It depends on what State you live in. Laws for licensing motor vehicles differ from State to State.
Those open headers are loud as hell definitely ticket material 😂
@@vincegedeon6583 loud is good 👍
No louder than harleys and those tuner cars with the fartcan pipes.....lol
Gassers=my fave
Not really a good daily but probably fun down the strip
If I owned it I would start it every morning at 3 am
That car looks like it gave you a workout… for some reason you look like Mike Brewer from wheeler dealer in this video!

Wild lil ride..... Nick, can u tell me how to tell if my GTA has a 350 or 305? Thanks
Dam that body is rough good luck it needs some tlc

It would almost be worth it to buy it, haul it up to DC and drop it off at the White House and just leave it sitting there idling.
You said it Nick!FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!
Im in love😉
I think I saw that car years ago at Thompson Raceway Park and possibly at Quaker City Motorsports Park
Just bad ass!
