    Thanks, great review. I am looking for a light 1-person tent for bikepacking, and the Hubba NX is my favorite so far. Hope we all can go out bikepacking again soon !!

      Yeah it's a great tent, good balance between weight vs durability. I like to have more real estate so I prefer the Hubba Hubba. Safe rides Paul!

    I spent the night at Hubba NX on a ceramic floor. There was little rain at night. In the morning there was water between the mattress and the floor. After returning home, I did a test. I hung the tent 2 meters high and poured water inside. I found the material is not waterproof. The water ran out of everywhere after 30 minutes. I examined the surface of the material and found no damage. I used an underlay under the tent. New tent.

      They are tents, not inflatable boats. It's a normal behaviour, usually you pitch the tent in a way in case of rain the water wont collect on the tent floor.

      @@DavideTravelli It is not normal for a material on the floor to let water through the entire surface. Shame on MSR

      If you think that your tent is faulty contact MSR and get a replacement.

    I just realized that the ground sheet you have is not available anymore. With the one you have, the tent can be set up with the flysheet first in case it is raining. In the new version, the metal parts where the poles are put in are removed! I dont know why they did it, but that makes it much less interesting for me...

    • @DavideTravelli

      Actually you do not need the groundsheet. If you look at the video you will notice the minimal pitching I did I used only the poles and the flysheet, no groundsheet whatsoever.

      @@DavideTravelli Thanks for your answer. I saw that part, but I dont really understand how that works. With the ground sheet, you can bring the poles into a bend/stressed position and then put the flysheet over it. Without the ground sheet, I dont see how you get the fly sheet over the poles into their final position.

      Just give it a go, it's easier done than said. Most likely you'll have to pop the poles into the flysheet in place once they are fitted at the four corners. MSR had a video showing it.

    Thanks for this video - although it comes too late for me. I own thid tent for about two years and it leaks after 5 minutes of mild rain. I have never experienced a tent less water-resistent than this one - a complete disaster. What is even worse, because the fly is both PU and silicone coated (according to MSR) there does not seem to exist a suitable sealant ...

    Great video what’s the best way of getting a US hubba nx with the better features ?

      Ciao Graham, welcome to the channel! I assume you're based in Europe...I guess ordering the tent from a US online store that does shipping to European addresses. You might have to pay import duties on top of the retail price. Or else if you know someone in the US that can buy it and ship/bring it over for you.

    • @EspenFrafalne
      @EspenFrafalne 3 роки тому +1

      You could also buy the european version, and seam seal it yourself, and get the poles from the US to save some money on tax. But the US version also used some different fabrics, so i guess its still some advantages to get the US version...

    • @DavideTravelli
      @DavideTravelli  3 роки тому +1

      @@EspenFrafalne the fabrics are exactly the same. Both tents are seams proofed: the US version is seam sealed at factory using seam sealant, the EU version is seam taped at factory. The poles are different.
