Cipher's theme sucked. It appears often early in the game but its never referred to as "theme of Fire emblem Cipher" in game via the music player and feels more like something out of Sacred stones than its own thing.

Absolute masterpiece, this is by far the best soundtrack i've heard in any modern media. I'm adamant that some of this songs, if transported back in time, would be considered classical masterpieces today but because it's from a game, nobody except gamers gives a shit.
You're unfortunately right. There are so many great and innovative dynamic soundtracks in games that so many people won't hear because of the fact that the medium is a video game. Really hope we can bring video game music forward as a concept that can be held against film soundtracks and other popular music!
Literally, I cannot even find one song I have any issue with. You can tell love and effort was put into to the careful re-creation of the music here. I find myself awstruck everytime I listen.

Although I love fire emblem three houses, echoes still had the best OST and ending credits song. Everything about it was just amazing(if they rereleased it on the switch I’d probably play that more than three houses)
I would to! But i still play echoes anyways like a lot a lot. I havent finished 3houses but I know what happens anyways. But echoes will be my all time favorite! Unless something happens to me and i het a sudden change lmao
im not far in 3 houses but the 1 thing unimpressive so far especially was the music. especially with this one last.... this game is unreal
@@FTWGamerTrue Both Echoes and Three Houses have their own issues that affect them in overall replay value. Three houses music doesn’t have as much variety and the same goes for map design. Along with leveling up characters weapons being so tedious and time consuming. With Echoes the map design is overall the worse in the franchise. Terrible growth rates and non existent resistance stats against magic making enemy mages OP as hell. Also incredibly annoying summoners as well. What really made Echoes great was the music, VA’s and art design of characters.
@@ZackSNetwork Yeah echoes had an incredibly satisfying world. Can't forget or forgive the sad level design and how it almost caused me to quit. I believe it was Celicas route in a desert where its literally just snipers in a building. Thank god 2nd playthrough me held patient and got to experience the story and music

Every time I hear Echoes; I get goosebumps, without fail. Not just a chill either, I'm fully taken back and for just a moment at those starting notes I feel a peace that I don't really feel anywhere else.

Three Houses is certainly up there with the best, but Shadows of Valentia screams what the essence of Fire Emblem is

How did it go?
Echoes is by far the best Fire Emblem to come into recent consoles before the switch. I think it may even hold a candle to the original few even as a remake merely because it took what the old ones did right and expanded on it while bringing in great new additions.
As a 300 hour Fe3H player I can say three houses is phenomenal but I can tell it's just a stepping stone. Testing the waters. The next FE might be the greatest ever made of it try to be even better than 3H
@@buster8081 played 17 hours, got overwhelmed with all the management aspects, everytime I try to get back into it i get lost in all the stats, unit skills, house crests, relationships... what i want my units to class into, weapon durability, squad abilities... I feel like they really went overboard in some areas. (even as a kid i hated managing Items/weapons in Path of Radiance)
The best ost imo. The orchestration does wonders for the game's music.
How many of these songs were recorded with real instruments? It's hard to tell for some
@@ninjadude36 which makes it that much more impressive as a sound designer / engineer. As great as 3 Houses music was, it just wasn’t as great as this soundtrack, and I felt rather disappointed but also somewhat relieved that Echoes will remain the King/Queen of FE soundtracks.
@@liamwilson7549As much as I do love this soundtrack, I must disagree that it's better than 3H's. I feel the fact that the story makes a lot more sense, and the character development is much deeper in 3H gives a lot more emotion to the game as a whole but also the music. While I do think songs like "What Lies at the End" are masterpieces, I feel like there's not many songs in the game that are purely emotional, minus "Lord of a Dead Empire" and "Twilight of the Gods", while 3H is full of those songs.Of course it's all subjective, and I have been known to view 3H higher than most people so take that with a grain of salt lol
@@ninjadude36 yea to each their own :) on a side note I heard a rumor there are 2 fire emblem games in development, one is speculated to be a remaster of either Genealogy of the holy war or Fire Emblem 6, the other is an entirely new title. I always gush over wondering what comes next in the franchise ;3
@@liamwilson7549 My first Fire Emblem game was Awakening when it came out, and I've heard great things about games like genealogy, binding blade, path of radiance and radiant dawn and with their prices used sometimes being in the triple digits USD, it's hard for enthusiasts to be able to get their hands on it. While Nintendo-endorsed emulation would be great of course, I'd love a remake even more (because lord knows I rely on the ability to let my units come back after a battle lol)
"What lies at the end" is the definitive theme of fire emblem for me.
Now I'm generally a huge fan of this OST, but mostly I listened to the same songs over and over(A Song for Bygone Days ftw). But now going over the entire thing again, I notice just how good The Sacrifice and the Saint was. Or like half of the other soundtrack.
Might even be the best OST in the series.

There are 4 games that have my absolute favourite soundtracks, and when I say this I mean that I can listen to the entire soundtrack in order and enjoy every minute of it. This is one of those soundtracks.
(if anyone is curious, the other 3 are Hollow Knight, Octopath Traveler, and Pokemon Black and White)
Octopath Traveler is a good one, have you listened to the NieR Automata ost? That one is pretty good too.
Those are an amazing selection of videogames soundtracks. Black and White is so good.

Playing this during quarantine
This game is the best example of any piece of media I've seen when it comes to adapting one motif across an entire soundtrack. The main theme is reused over and over again but is always unique and dynamic enough to never get old.

Usually the only downside to importing these amazing collections is the lack of the English lyrical themes. But they actually included the English version for Heritors of Arcadia on the data disc! I can't believe it! That's so cool! I wish they did that for Fates and am hopeful they do that for Three Houses
Top pick would have to be Scion's Dance into Purgatory. Love Berkut as a character and this song brings out emotion and his character's downfall

Ever since I played the DLC here I fell in love with Eternal Glory(5:07:26). Wish it would've played in the main game.
It's actually a remix of two songs from FE: Mystery if the Emblem (Expedition and Holy War)

I'm not even a huge fan of the game itself, but Python and the ost alone makes this game super epic.

Where is thabes labyrinth and why can I never find the MAP THEME of the creation, on any youtube video? Was it banned? Made illegal in the United States? Declared a gateway to the depths of hell? Well?
A masterpiece of an OST, and a majority of it is a remastering of what came from the fucking NES.
This soundtrack tops all other Fire Emblem games, bar none. Nothing comes close to what this game has.
Just listening to the music makes me want to go back an replay it to hear some of these absolute bangers. The first time i was up to Rigel's fortress of a castle hearing Rudolf's song of lament, i had to stop and let it play for a minute

This game was definitely ambitious for FE; having most of the narrative voice acted; chapters ending on bittersweet notes, leading to some controversy; the soundtrack being unlike anything I’ve ever heard (not a single piece feels out of place and sounds completely orchestral).
In an alternate universe where I didn't know what Fire Emblem was, if someone told me Echoes is actually the video game adaption of a really good anime, I would absolutely believe them.
I know that some of the other FE games could also pass for being a video game adaption, but not necessarily of a *really good* anime like Echoes could pass for.
