    Thanks for the tips Brian! I always have spiders at my house! I put down glue traps on the inside and spray the outside!

      Do you catch a lot of spiders in the glue traps?

      @@ThatFixItGuy I like them as a back up as I do not have to use any kind of spray inside the house or garage. I have caught mice and snakes in the garage in them as well.

    Awesome tips! We get tons of spiders on the outside of our house especially on our security cameras. Since we live across the street from a river our soil is mostly sand which ants love. I use DE on the outside of the house and Borax on a wet cotton ball for inside, if they make it that far lol looking forward to more videos!

      Thank you Sandy. I wish I would be a little more self sufficient in my pest game, but Jeff is reasonable and we rarely have anything to complain about. Living across for the river sounds great! Had to edit for some reason I put a hatching chicken emoji! Lol.

    There are things you can do as a homeowner to control insects. I sprinkle Borax directly on ant colonies and mix confectioners sugar and Borax and place it on their ant trails. Outside I spray permethrin with a hose end sprayer on the house, lawn, and wood pile. Inside I spray Ortho Home Defense. I get very few bugs inside.
    I'm curious what other people do to address insects problems.

      Borax and Sugar. Awesome. Borax seems to have so many uses. I may venture into my own pest control at some point, but I feel like this house has never ending entry points. Thank you for the information.

    Same things with Hedges, boxwood, firewood. If it touches your home it prevents portions of the home from being treated and they become spider ladders.

      So true. We try to make sure nothing is touching the house. Thanks for the info!

    Lots of products that were restricted even 5 years ago are not now ,several products I used as restrictive are not restricted but I still use them and just because they aren't restricted you won't find them at the hardware / big boxes any time soon

    Your videos are always so fun and helpful. What is on the end of the wire at about 6:53 minutes in? It is black and starts to move like a bat.

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  4 роки тому

      Cheri you are very observant! You are right though that totally moved. It is just electrical tape.

      @@ThatFixItGuy I figured it was something like that. If it were a bat, it was really tiny and would have flown away when he wiped through the area. It just looked suspicious.

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  4 роки тому

      It totally moved. LOL. I had to rewind a couple of times. Invasion of the mini bat! Would not surprise me in 2020!

    You do not need a license to buy the insecticide or spray your home. The rest of the PCT information & tips are good.

    If your pest guy was worth what he gets paid, he would have shown you numerous places outside the house that need to be sealed up with exterior caulking. The first step in sucessful pest control is closing all the gaps, cracks and openings around the house that are open doors for pests to walk right inside. Your pest control guy said nothing about this valuable piece of info so in my book he's a waste of your money.

    • @ThatFixItGuy

      Yeah he totally had me cover all holes and cracks and trim the tree away from the house. Always been happy with the service he provides.
