Brooklyn 99 actually manages to embrace diversity so naturally. Two of the main characters are latinas one of who is bisexual and two others are black one of who is also gay. And not at any given moment does all this feel forced. It's so smooth and natural you don't even pay attention to those characteristics.
They're right. Two Latinas as main characters on the same show is kinda rare. Great work, Brooklyn 99. Too many shows just have one character that's Latino or African American or Asian American, and one character who's female, and the rest of the cast are white guys. It is so refreshing to see a show that's this diverse.
1987MartinT have to say, generally I am not a big fan of this whole diversity thing just for the sake of it, but I have to say in Brooklyn 99 it just feels so natural I never noticed it and that’s how it should be, some shows are just trying to hard to not step on anyone’s toes
And the biggest difference is that they aren‘t latino characters, but they are characters that happen to be latino. Same with Holt and Terry as black authority figures. They minority status is just one small part of their identity, not as in many other cases the biggest part.
But Brooklyn Nine-Nine has 3 main characters who are female, and the white female is the only one who is not a detective. Even among the mostly-white shows before 2013, I can still name 13 (x2) other network TV comedies before Brooklyn Nine-Nine (besides Friends, obviously) which had at least two main characters who are female in a non-family ensemble cast, and didn't lose them before the end of the series, or add them in after the beginning. Por que asi la gente que no hablan español tambien pueden disfrutar de lo que dicen. Ya que ingles es el idioma mundial mas importante es logico que no hablan en español. Ademas, es un show de los estados unidos, un lugar donde el idioma oficial es el ingles

@Any RD I am very woke, thank you very much. And I feel an acceptable level of virtuous and politically correct.
Both of them are gorgeous, but Melissa. Genuine, and lovely. What a babe. 😍👌🏼

Porque Melissa es estadounidense y Steph se mudó a USA desde los 2, 3 años.
Noice add
Why I feel like Stephanie is faking her voice
This is her real voice, she is actually faking her voice in Brooklyn 99
Melisa is not Latina ;-;
Es de sangre cubana
Melissa is cuben, so she is Latina☺️
@@rachelsvindal131 sorry love but she was not born in Cuba, she is not Latina. Ella es estadounidense
