It makes me so happy seeing Zerg players using burrowed baneling mines. I don't see it often enough
Ive always thought they were not worth the apm but i was wrong. Insane to see how scared Clem was to move out afterwards. Now I see their main value is to scare and contain Terran from splitting.

I think, in lower leagues this "fear factor" is hampered by your opponent not always noticing it detonate. "Huh, I thought I had more marines? Nevermind, just build some more".

Even Serral stopped using them for a while to focus on more important things. He said they were too hard to keep track of. Seems like Reynor's got APM to spare :D

The new maps being a little more non standard definitely helps shake things up for sure. I’m positive the pros HATE it lmao but it makes it way more enjoyable to watch

I love seeing these notifications pop up, watching the cast, getting a ridiculously over blown ego about my actual skill level, jumping into as series of games, getting absolutely stomped, rage quitting....then doing the same thing over the next day 😎

@@MrJasper609 Yes, she won a game where she had only few drones against an entire terran army just because of few baneling mines. Was facing Bomber (Korean player) for reference.
Second game is probably the most intense game I have ever seen in SC2 or SC1, and I have been playing/watching since brood war days... ^^

amazing series. I'm a massive fan of both of these guys, although I'm a clem fanboy so that just made this reynor performance so much more impressive. Crazy how he was able to control the entire series so well. I can't wait to see a rematch!
I'm only halfway thru game one while writing this comment. Holy Molly, Starcraft doesn't get better than this. What a game
It’s always so satisfying seeing a Zerg land a god tier bane mine hit and give the Terrans a taste of what it’s like lol, especially against Clem who abuses that unit more than any other Terran imo

They’re just inferior to mines in every way in TvZ because of how easily vipers shut them down, they’re only good in TvP or against roaches. At least that seems to be how Clem thinks and I can’t say he’s wrong
For anyone curious, it will take 167 attacks from unupgraded hydras to kill an orbital with building armor (not counting damage from burning). Without building armor it takes 137 attacks. For +3 hydras, it's 125 attacks, or 108 without building armor.
That second match was BLOODY. An ABSOLUTE battle of attrition.

Very bloody game 2- love your line on widow mine addiction! Poignant conclusion to a game that made you "feel things"
Honestly this was a really well played series by Reynor. His status as a top 3 Zerg, and even at times a top 5 player, has been suspect at times in the last year or 2. But this right here, this is the Reynor that won World Championship. This is the Reynor that stole the crown off Serral's head. I'm not even like the world's biggest Reynor fan, really, but I do appreciate good gameplay. And with how unstoppable Clem has been lately, it's good to remind everyone that he's only human. Weird to consider Reynor an underdog in any matchup, but I would definitely say he was unfavored here.
For reference, according to Liquipedia's head-to-head match history, Clem had more than a 70% win-rate against Reynor in the last 12 months leading up to this game.
What has been making Clem so good against zerg lately is that he leaves his base undefended - so it looks like he is doing well but in reality he has a very big weak spot - Reynor really showcased that in these three games moreso the last 2.

Imagine this game actually had 300 population cap. Damn, that would be crazy good, we would have waves of zerg clashing with the last line of defense of Earth.
As a zerg primary, I can tell you that it would probably imbalanced towards zerg. The population cap is what keeps the swarm at bay. Zerg can remax faster than the other two races, because of the larva mechanic. A single production building can build up to 19 units in parallel, when the larva has been stacked. Zerg would do what it does now - max to 300, trade with the opponent, and remax to 300 in the meantime.

I'm surprised Clem didn't make a few tanks the second game. Just two or three on defense to keep the banes at bay? The mines are vital, but I feel like they are too likely to be diffused by Reynor,
Clems entire style to is to use auto 0 control units like widow mines and liberators so he can micro his bio constantly and abuse op micro'd marines. Tanks require you to focus fire to work most effectively. Tanks need too much control for clem to use them. If you could set and forghet tanks then he would build them non stop too.

Game 2. If clem had a bunker at any of these bases. and a near by barracks rallying marines into it as previously commented. He easily wins this game. Half these run bys are not as devastating. even when it got worse and worse. put one bunker on the gold that he flew from his main.... put 1 on his 3rd... 1 on his 4th anything man please.

Good on Reynor to "abuse" what's been an obvious blind spot of Clem's, ie, having the 3rd hit with a run-by the moment his push his about halfway in the map. Happens so much it would probably be a net positive to turn every 3rd into a planetary...

The fact that Clem survived for so long with so little SCVs in game 2 is disgusting. Flip that situation or put any protoss in it they'd be dead in a couple of minutes.

I dont think most would agree that Clem's playstyle is particularly unique, very one trick pony. Byun, Maru and others play Terran the way they are meant, not relying too much on autoattack from the Widows

The zerg nerfs were great for the game state! 100% endorse them, but blizzard finally needs to remove the widow mine and replace it with vultures, watching this 'gameplay' of clems is the most dissapointing SC2 in years

@@tobiasL1991nightmare makes protoss look like undead in wc3. Very balanced. Jokes aside I loved those pincers attacks with combined arms nightmare uses. Never just one strategy, but 2 or 3 in tandem it seems. That's the way!

widow mine abuse begins 5:15. And is the reason why clem sucks so much in TvT. he can't do viking/tank, which dominates widow mines completely. Only abusing imbalance vs other races.
Okay. I'm now convinced Clem is just a gimmick player who relies on widow mines to do everything for him :(

Zerg so op, it's crazy
zerg has a pretty high skill floor to play effectively though, you have to keep up with the larvae injects and creep spread while defending all your bases... i'm playing SC2 again with mainly terran and zerg and i don't see much effective zergs in bush league where i'm in and needless to say i'm not very effective with zerg either, but still my favorite class since the first starcraft

zerg isnt op vs terran at all. terran hardly lost a match in wtl, other than to terran, we have a terran world champion, after a TvT final, and that's before zerg got nerfed more and now we just saw an 'out of form' maru 2-0 serral and simply roll over him despite serral landing every spell perfectly. clem got outplayed here nothing more or less, reynor had to catch clem napping and not defending his eco over and over to even have a chance to win in that game 2, reynor killed 116 workers, kept clem on 3 bases for 20 mins and clem still was still able to have a bigger army. reynor is op not zerg haha

Widow mine almost feels like a unit created strictly to shut whiny terrans up. Here, take this zero apm, game breaking unit, just stop crying on balance forums FFS.
Clem gets bodied if he cant just do abusive drop behind mineral line and widow mine cheese. Seems Reynor has really figured out his 1 dimensional play. Hhow long until these cry baby terrans cry to get banelings nerfed again because they refuse to build ravens with their army like how zerg needs multiple overseer's and protos needs to take observers. Terran carried by map hacks so long they haven't had to play the game honestly since Season 1 WoL
