Looks fab. Great wood. I heard the sound and thought the word, "shimmer," and then five seconds later you say "shimmer." Wonderful instrument. These will surely sell.
It really does - and it's a good check on uke quality. If you do an open strum and the whole uke shimmers in and out in tone, creating a kind of warble (assuming it's in tune - a warble can happen if out of tune, and that's a bad thing!!), but if it does it naturally - it's the harmonics of the instrument working together and interacting. It's showing that all the notes and the frequencies from those notes are kind of equal in power and are accurate. It's wonderful when it happens. Makes an otherwise simple couple of notes turn out really magical.
I knew as soon as I saw you were reviewingan an aNueNue, I knew it would be gorgeous, it would sound heavenly and it would be priced that only a very select few could afford it! Love the sound, it is a magnificent ukulele!
Blown away by the first sight of this . Probably the most attractive ukulele I've ever seen. Sounds heavenly too . It's nice to dream!! Thoroughly enjoyed the review Barry . Cheers
As soon as I saw you raise the Ukulele, I gasped and thought 'What a beauty!' Then I gasped again when you told us the price hahahaha! If only ...... well worth it if you can afford it. What a stunning sound! Thanks for another fab review.
Wow! That truly is a beautiful instrument in every way. How about setting your phone to video (with light on), stick it down into the sound hole and get a wee look at that bracing?
Baz, I could tell you were stunned by this one. I was too. Too bad that would be out of my range as well. Thanks for a wonderful review of a wonderful ukulele.
I enjoyed you reviewing this gorgeous ukulele. And... you DO have a stunning web site! Probably the best independent web site there is. Thank you Barry!
In behalf of those of us who don't get paid until the last banking day of the month, I must say that I think you should be banned from featuring aspirational Instruments on the wrong side of pay day - especially when, for the next 3 days, as far as I'm concerned, even the Gear 4 Music gloss monstrosity that you featured a few weeks ago, comes into the category of being, "aspirational". :-) Seriously though, all solids come in at around 1/10 that price, .Even if you could afford £3000, If you start at the bottom and work your way up, most people are going to find something that they'll fall in love with a long time before they get to the £3000 mark. I noticed that you finished off by saying "see you next week". I always listen out for that when you review a high end uke in case you might be considering doing a runner rather than handing it back :-). So, when you say "see you next week" at the end of a review like this, I'm left thinking "aha, so it's not THAT good then " :-)
A truly beautiful instrument, I would love to see how it would sound in my intermediate fingers, I couldn’t afford it but can sure see the value in it. Thanks Barry. ps did I miss last weeks review?
I couldn't afford that gorgeous uke, but I just bought your Got A Ukulele T-shirt! haha! Your reviews are so helpful so thank you for your efforts!
Awww - thanks Terry!
Absolutely stunning ukulele, I really like the cut away that doesn't look at all like a cut away.
The Professor yeah - me too!

Thanks Nickie!
Ha ha haaaa!! love the downvote already. Damn that beautiful Koa.. Damn it to hell!!!
6:41 says it all. BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you. It reminds me the Musicman Van Halen tho.
It reminds you of an electric guitar?
I saw a review that said these are made by luthiers in China, not factory built.
Bit of a misnomer - it is a factory build, but done by multiple luthiers, not a single person.
I enjoyed you reviewing this gorgeous ukulele.
And... you DO have a stunning web site! Probably the best independent web site there is.
Thank you Barry!
Thanks Fred!
Only probably ;) ?
@@WorldofUkes You are right: "Definitely"! 😎
Beautiful ukulele. It's outside my price range but if money was no issue I would buy it. 👍
If you can afford that beautiful hat, you can afford the ukulele.
Wow stunning indeed
Yep!
Wow!
I want one..help me to get one please thanks.
Check the reviews on my full list on my website for my recommendations. Website also has a page for recommended stores.
Clean, clear and crisp and yet somehow smooth and rich all at the same time. Wonderful.
😍
Great uke, great review. Out of interest any idea what is the most expensive production uke?
Leon Morgans probably something like a Martin 5K - about. $6K. Luthier builds can go seriously higher of course
Yep, and there is the new Jake Blue from Kamaka who is about $5,000.

That's properly made me giggle!! thanks Steve!
Beautiful beautiful uke, but pete howlett built me one just as beautiful, to my spec, for much less
Out of 5K Koa?
A truly beautiful instrument, I would love to see how it would sound in my intermediate fingers, I couldn’t afford it but can sure see the value in it. Thanks Barry.
ps did I miss last weeks review?
Keith Hicks thanks Keith . No you didn’t miss one - was away last week
Glad you get some time off.
Wow,what a tone!THIS is music!
sounds the same as ut1k, you pay 1.8k more for the look.
Of course you do. Looks matter to a lot of people and it costs more. My scores balance this out with multiple categories
Barry mate, I'd have to sell both my party boat & vw microbus but ... after that I could swing the deal! 😜
Ha ha!
There is an old Amish saying, "What you pay is how good it eats." This one eats pretty good!
