Yes . Ratios given in question are in lowest form , so constant is required.
Eg : sin A = 8/12 , is given sin A =2/3 in question , So Perpendicular from sin A =2/3 will be P =2 units , but actual value of P is 8 units , so P must be written as 2k units .
