Crazy that google did that to you! I’ve never seen anything remotely questionable on your channel, but the tech oligarchs have done lots of questionable things and don’t think they owe anyone an explanation. Thank you for putting out videos as often as you do. I love your work!
Thank you, Mary! It is frustrating that you can't even get an answer about their reasons! And I have so many video ideas and no time to make the videos :(
First of all, I enjoyed Watching this edible forest update. And I’m always feel sorry that your don’t get revenue from Google … 😢 I look forward to reading your new book. Happy gardening!
It’s so nice to see you! I planted my winter squash today. Through cardboard, preparing another strip of my food forest for next year. Just like you taught us :) I hope Google sorts that out for you. Your channel is pure joy and you have taught me more than you can imagine throughout the years. Congrats on the upcoming book. Enjoy the garden xxx
That's terrible about UA-cam. Is there any way you can make a community membership? Maybe that way your diehard fans could support the channel. Or is there a way that we can complain on your behalf? I love your videos. Especially the cooking ones. I'd love to see weeklong cooking videos for each season, like you did in the winter. We're vegetarians too.
Thank you so much for the tour, always love to watch these! How exciting about the new book you're writing. I have your "Tuin Smakelijk", and still reference it a lot if I'm in doubt about something or if I just need some new inspiration/a new view on things again. I hope YT will let you get back into bussiness soon! Alles op z'n tijd en geniet van wat je wel kunt doen. Groetjes, Debbie
Really sorry that your ad revenue has been blocked. 😟 Love any and all podcasts you share. And the drone shot of the pergola is very cool. What a gorgeous structure!
Amazing how much diversity is in your garden looking forward to hear from you, I can not understand why Google is treating you that way. You are doing a great job and know so much thank you for sharing it
Great video, as always! Love seeing what you've got growing 👍it's a shame that google did that to you, I wonder if there's some way to file an appeal? Your videos are very educational and informative, I can't think of a good reason they'd have for doing that.. best of luck to you and your garden!
Thank you, Wes! We can't think of any reason either. We have tried appealing twice, but we only get a standard answer that the decision stands. I don't think any actual humans review it! :(
Thank you, Brenda! I like to think the chive/onion plants make a difference but it's hard to prove the effect of a single plant within such a varied system
Thanks for this update, I very much enjoy your videos and all of the knowledge you share. It is sad that Google and/or You Tube are not monetizing your videos for no apparent reason. I hope they resolve that soon so you can derive some income from the work you put into creating your videos.
A wonderful video as always, Vera! I love going back to your older videos in the archive btw, I sometimes feel that I have to be at a certain point of my food forest journey to actually take in certain information within that wealth of knowledge you've shared over the years. It's so so helpful and should be financially rewarded. Did you ever think about a Patreon scheme? I'd be the first to join and am sure loads of people would be happy to support your work. All the best xx
I really like your garden! It's exactly the free flowing, slightly wild and natural looking environment that appeals to me. It's grown beautifully! I look forward to another great book and more videos. That they demonetized your channel is just proof that algorithms aren't always right.
Thank you, Nate! I'm so glad to hear you like my book! Books are always such a long term project with many ups and downs but it's wonderful when they can really help other gardeners!
A good question but the answer is a little complicated since USDA zones do not correspond very well to European climate. We are comparatively further to the north, so our growing season is shorter and our summers cooler, plus we get less daylight in the wither months. Here's a detailed video I made on the subject if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/Z0YdKOBat4M/v-deo.html
I am so looking forward to your new book, please let us know when it's due to come out! I absolutely LOVE your book Edible Paradise!!! It is one of the best books I've ever read on gardening and growing food permaculture way. I want your next book right now, please, like a toddler with zero patience :D I wish I spoke Dutch and could enjoy your book Tuin smakelijk as well, but sadly not yet or possibly ever :[
🌼🌻🐝☀️🌺👨🌾🌸🌺🫑🐇 I can see you put a lot of work and love into growing! All the hard work it worth it to me to get to see the new growth everyday brings me so much joy! It’s the start of my 3 year gardening but there is still so much to learn and I appreciate your tips, tricks and advice! I look forward to learning more from each other as we grow!
We are growing both modern and heirloom varieties (like Glorie van Holland en Glockenapfel). There is indeed a problem with the adaptability of scab - it evolves so varieties do not remain resistant forever.
It’s at 3:30 isn’t it? I thought it sounded like crenel berry but after a bit of searching (for clove scented) I think it might be ‘Crandall’ - a type of clove-scented currant (Ribes odoratum) or clove currant (Ribes aureum aka ribes odoratum or ribes fragrans).

Buy the book, everyone! Please! Vera's valuable knowledge doesn't have to be free. And it's a great book!
Thanks so much, G=Douglas, for your support!

Thank you so much for the tour. I watch a LOT of gardening videos. You are still my favorite.
You have a beautiful garden
Thank you! It's a joy to just walk around at this time of year :)
Wish could visit your fruits garden one day
trop contente de vous revoir!
Merci!

Thank you so much, Angela!
Love seeing your food forest. Ooh, can't wait to read your new book. Good luck with it!
Thanks so much, Kerry! It is a little slow going but it will get done eventually :)
So good to see you and have an update Vera!
Thank you, Donna!!
Love your book!! Especially how you incorporate edible flowers in your recipes.
Thank you! I love using edible flowers! I'm planning our Midsummer party menu at the moment and there will be lots of edible flowers for sure :)
wonderful to see how your amazing garden is maturing
Thank you, Ute! It is amazing how fast things can grow :)
Fijn om je weer te zien! :)
So cool
Wow has it flourished in just 1 years time!
Well, the trees and bushes have been planted several years ago but it's astonishing how fast the herb layer grows!
Interesting idea to plant chives near fruit trees. Love your videos!
Thank you, Brenda! I like to think the chive/onion plants make a difference but it's hard to prove the effect of a single plant within such a varied system

Great video! Thanks for the tour of your garden. So many ideas on how to improve my space. SO LUSH!
Thank you, Jenn, lovely to hear you found inspiration here!
What zone are you in? I believe it's important to let the viewers know so than can determine if those plants can grow in their area.

@@GrownToCook thank you
Thank you for sharing this update. I think my own plot is gradually transitioning to a kind of food forest. All the best

Thank you so much, Anna! This is so lovely to hear!!
Great, why do you let all the herbs flower for pollinators, as they lose flavour?

is Aurora still your favorite cultivar og Haskap? Or does the Boreal-series taste better?
I still like Aurora best but the Boreal honey berries are also very good and taste is personal - so you might very well prefer the other ones :)
@@GrownToCook indeed, thanks 🤩
A lot of people are complaining that, all the new apple varieties like Topaz, get diseases after some years. I like more the old European varieties
We are growing both modern and heirloom varieties (like Glorie van Holland en Glockenapfel). There is indeed a problem with the adaptability of scab - it evolves so varieties do not remain resistant forever.
What about vine borers for the winter squash? Do anything to prevent that, or is it not a problem in your area?
Luckily, those are not a problem for us, so I do not have nay advice
Great work - sorry to hear about Google.
Thank you! it's a pity since I have so many ideas for videos and no time to maken them
What's the name in the beginning after the plum tree, with scented flowers? Thank you
It’s at 3:30 isn’t it? I thought it sounded like crenel berry but after a bit of searching (for clove scented) I think it might be ‘Crandall’ - a type of clove-scented currant (Ribes odoratum) or clove currant (Ribes aureum aka ribes odoratum or ribes fragrans).
@@stshnie thank you!. Never heard of any of those.
Yes, it is indeed Ribes odoratum/ Crandallberry! Sorry that it was not clear!
@@GrownToCook thank you. It sounded like cranberries :-)
Is honeyberry plant possible to thrive in tropical climate like Philippines?
I'm afraid not - it does need a period of cold temperatures in winter....
@@GrownToCook oh well, thanks.. i love your food forest garden.
Thanks for taking the tims
Where is this?
We’re in the Netherlands
@@GrownToCookis 1/4 acre enough to grow a lot of food for one or two people? or a family?
@@EnergiA854 Yes, I think 1/4 acre is enough for a family. But it of course depends on how intensively you use the space and how much time you put in
