Yay! What a joy to start my day with Erin and Gilberto! You two make me smile! You may even inspire me to go out and move some compost into the garden today!
Beautiful! Lots of inspiration. My garden is exposed, surrounded by cleared fields on the flats where the valley meets the ocean. We get very strong westerlies and northeasters in the winter that slam the garden hard during the coldest part of the year. Kills plants that are supposed to be okay for my growing zone. I think for me the first step is creating an outside barrier. My current plan is the make living fences with willow.
Willow fences are a wonderful idea! I’m so glad you found some inspiration in the video! Your spot sounds beautiful though wind can be such a challenge. Not sure where you are but here we’ve planted deodar cedars for wind block and they are growing fast and are drought tolerant. I know you’ll find a way to mitigate the wind. Happy gardening 💛✨💛
I truly love and enjoy every one of your videos! Yes, I absolutely agree your voice is so 'soothing' as the previous comment noted. I SO appreciate that your presentations are not just educational and instructional, not just inspirational and motivational, not just a documented journal of progress. and not just personal reflections, but are a beautiful expression and seamless blend of all of these!!! It is so apparent this is your passion! I have recently been asked to help a dear friend begin a food forest on about 2 to 3 acres here in zone 7a. I have never been a 'gardener' and have always thought of myself as having a brown thumb, but this has been so much fun so far and a real blessing in many ways, it is yielding personal growth before it has really gotten started. You have been a good part in making this a passion as well! Thank you and please keep the videos coming! Let's grow.
Thank you for this beautiful comment David. It truly means a lot to me. What a gift to help your friend begin a food forest. There’s so much to be gained from remembering that we are every bit a part of nature as the plants and wildlife, and guiding it to grow inevitably leads to our growth and deeper understanding. It’s raining here this morning, so needed in the food forest. I hope your garden is receiving whatever it needs today too 💛🙏💛

Fantastic video as usual. Do you ever have any issues with your cats on the native wildlife?
Not so much - the hope is that they will control the rodents. But they mostly just lounge in the shade of the trees 😺💛
