I would try to get pistons retracted on hydraulics. So - FEL down / 3ph down. You’ll never get 100% out but it’s nice to know you got as much as possible.
I have a similar issue with a Shibaura SD1840D tractor. It's suppose to be equivalent to a Ford 1400 or 1500. Mine has a reservoir behind the seat for the lifts and (like yours) for the transmission. I recently added some Lucas hydraulic fluid treatment (to the rear) to help with leaks and noticed there was some water in it too. After running a while, fluid started overflowing around the gearshift. However, I added the treatment to the rear reservoir. Wonder if these areas are connected? Also, where are the drain plugs for the hydraulics located?
@@canadianwrench I looked at it and it's similar but I still don't recognize any drain plugs under mine. There may be one on the right side for the transmission but won't know until I remove it. Both areas have water. Appreciate the quick response.
I made a video where I put the water and fluid over a fire and the water steamed out quickly. It was fun.
tHanks for the video
Same problem on my 1710. When you drain the contaminated fluid, what position should the fel rams be in to make sure all fluid is removed?

Here’s part one - it shows draining and the screen cleaning.
Get a big drain pan!

Is that hydraulic cap has dipstick in it
Yes the cap has the dipstick attached.
See my other video it shows everything you need to know.
I had to do the same thing on my Ford 1700.
Awesome!! Thx for confirming!
