I’m very grateful to Majid and his family for allowing us to film a slice of their lives. It’s possible that in a few years from now, nobody will live on the lake anymore. 💔 In case you’re wondering: in addition to groceries, they received extra funds from me to help them through the tough times. However, donations won’t do anything to solve their problem in the long term: what needs to change is the quality of the water they live and fish on. And that can only happen when the RBOD drain is redirected from the lake by the government, or better yet, the government makes an effort to ensure that the factories and industries dumping toxic waste into Pakistan’s rivers are held accountable for the ecological damage they cause.
Thank you so much for covering these problems! The voices of the marginalized are often drowned out in the media due to other issues such as political turmoil or even celebrity scandals. The management of the Indus River seriously needs improvement otherwise the implications will be equally disastrous for Pakistanis as it will be for the environment. Any project that aims to help Pakistan prosper (in all aspects, i.e. profits, people and the planet) must involve sustainable river management.
Thank you, Eva, for this enlightening and heartbreaking story. We all need to be reminded of how privileged we are. My life has not been easy, but I've always had a roof over my head, food to eat, clean water to drink and bathe in; but millions of people on this planet don't have those basic necessities.
Dear Eva, thank you for allowing us to take part on your journeys and your experiences. Keep on going this way; see the world thru your eyes and give us an impression about real live abroad.
Eva, Thank you for enlightening us about this sad situation. Despite their sadness, Majid and his family have such a close bond and still smile. You are a fantastic storyteller-getting to the heart of matters while sharing your growth. Hope you get your own show one day.
Eva, as a keen follower of your travel vlogs and adventures, I can see you have grown and matured having seen the world at its worst and best. Nature and humanity always has a way to blend as one big universe, sometimes beautifully and sometimes disastrously which is sad, as in the case of the boat people who live on the lake and depended on it for a living. Sadly, the ecological damage to the environment is happening ever so often in many parts of the world. It takes political will and support of governments and agencies to reverse the damage for the sake of future generations. Thank you Eva for bringing social awareness of the world we live in. Well done!
This was one of your most beautiful videos ever! It got straight to the heart and I love the way you told this story. This is so important, we need to stop ruining our precious planet. Thank you for telling this one story to wake people up to the realities we will all be facing.
Amazing video Eva!!✨I enjoy to see how other cultures lives, it reminds me how blessed we are, and if you are reading this, I think is important to be grateful every day for what we have because not everybody has the same facilities and they still enjoying their lives and smiling 💫This is really inspiring 💗
Thank you Eva for highlighting this issue. The entire country is in dire need of sewage treatment plants as only 1% of wastewater is treated in Pakistan. It is no short of a tragedy that most Pakistani people aren't even aware of how polluted our water ways & water bodies are. Rural health centers are full of patients with water borne diseases, bacterial infections, etc. Sindh was once known for its jungles and wild life (mostly extinct now). The people need to know what's ailing them to demand what they really need from the Government. We need a proper working environmental protection agency & allocation of budget for the development of wastewater treatment plants across the country. The country suffers from extreme urbanization of our major cities and little to no development in our rural areas. The government needs to focus on the development of rural areas & local industries to uplift families such as Majid's. Our country is full of natural resources and talent. We churn out hundreds of thousands of graduates every year. We have all the resources required to uplift our people and build a great economy but what we really need is good Governance.
Much love to you Eva...all the way from South Africa. I have been following you for the past few months and you are a huge inspiration to me. You are a great storyteller. I wish to be like you in my next lifetime lol. I know it's not always as easy as it seems for you but keep up the good work. This world does indeed belong to the brave.❤
You are such a fantastic story teller. You tell the truth with love and wisdom. I love you for sharing yourself and your experience. We must remember that we are all family and we must teach this to our children. No one who spends time with children would ever make war on another person.
With every video, you take us with you to see the beauty of each place and the generosity and warmth of people you introduce us to. It is truly captivating! You are an ambassador of the forgotten places and people. Thank you, Eva.
I found this video at a time I had given up on finding any content where real stories are told, real stories of real people and their unique struggles. This beautifully made masterpiece is inspiring and needs to be watched by everyone. Eva, you are a hero for showcasing these stories. Love from India!
YESSS was waiting for THISS !!love from PAKISTAN eva also tysm for the love towards our country it means alot😭💕 ty for seeing it all with your own eyes and not believing in the media!
Your inner beauty is peerless Eva! The more I watch you the deeper I can see what you are trying here! Such a theme you have chosen besides all these enticing entertainment mumbo jumbo! You are a hope to humanity! Your effort to become one of of them for a while is effortless and comes from the heart! I have never see you even noting any of the flies that often fly around you! A lot of love for you!
What a lovely group of people. It always seems that people who have the least, are the most polite & generally lovely people, & thank you Eva for bringing us this documentary.
Eva, you are very educational for me about humanity. I am 67 and your wisdom is very strong. Thank you for entertaining and educating me. I have traveled the world, but only barely scratched the surface in comparison to you. I find your videos intriguing.
I don’t know much about the lake there, but seeing that many small fish pulled out of the lake, it’s clear that they have overfished it, and by pulling out the small immature fish, they aren’t giving them the chance to replenish. That coupled with pollution is a recipe for disaster.
True, though I don't think they have much choice, it's what is left and they're completely dependent on fishing for survival there. I'd imagine before the pollution screwing everything up, they'd probably toss the young fish back into the water being too small to eat or sell. But now it's all they're getting.
The net they are using is called a gill net. That one in the video is designed to only catch tiny fish due to the holes being so small. Bigger fish would just swim into the net and turn around and swim away. The holes are big enough for the head but not the body, so the gills get caught. They are highly illegal where I'm from because they can devastate a fishery in just a matter of a few years by disrupting the breeding size.
Another wonderful video. I always enjoy your perspective. I want to go back and see if I can find the video of your first trip here so that I can compare it. The people are so beautiful, and humble. The children stole my heart. I hope that showing the root cause of why the lake is dying, perhaps that is a way of increasing pressure on the government to do something to stop the destruction of the lake and its ecosystem. Thank you Eva for shining a light on the problem. Perhaps your video will start a change that will help the communities that call this lake home.
Wow! What an absolutely stunning and insightful video Eva. As you alluded to in the vlog, once you see things in a new way, you can't ever un-see them. I pray that some people who watch this will be inspired to look deeper into the huge issues we face with the environment, global warming and huge corporations who cause massive destruction to nature and take little to no responsibility for their actions. Thank you for sharing this tribe's story and for opening more eyes.... 🙏✨ Very grateful for your contribution to the world. xx
I am from a poor family but yet still more blessed than these families. Its my prayer that the government will look after them and convince these people to leave living on that river. I believe there are more available land for them for farming or raise cattles. Thank you Ms. Eva for reaching and showing them how much you care .
Thank you Eva for showing in the most empathetic way the life of our fellow countrymen that we ourselves never get to know about. The life they live makes one feel so much compassion and frustration at the same time to see that these communities get the brunt of modern industrial life that rest of us take advantage of in one way or the other.
Thank you so very much for your responsibility to raise the issue. You proved yourself that you are not just a traveler, rather you are shouldering responsibility to humanity and society.
Eva, you are a beautiful story teller...! Your stories are filled with love, compassion and kindness; a reflection of what you are. Thank you for telling such beautiful stories to the world. If only they would heed your words, those who are mainly responsible.! Be safe be stay healthy...! Love you!!! 💕💕💕
I loved this trip of yours, simple people and place but rich in history and knowledge. I admire your courage in traveling to these parts of the world. Please keep living my dream. I wish you the best.
What a fascinating way of life..... that like so many other things on the planet are becoming endangered!! Thank you for taking us along with you.....I learn and more importantly see so much in your videos that if it were not for you - I would never get to experience !!!
I am humbled and amazed by the Boat People. Thank you for showing the hard and challenging life they face. The pollution issue is abhorrent! Eva, your re-visit shows your compassion. Bless you.
Great video Eva! I loved the combination of the telling of your own growth and the local story -all very raw and beautifully filmed! And about your changed perspective, thank God, I mean it would have been way scarier if you hadn't grown or changed opinion in your 3 years time!
Never have praised a vlogger before, but you force me to admire you. Very few vloggers have developed so much intellectually and spirituality as you have. Lots of prayers and love for you. Stay safe and stay blessed always Aameen.
Dearest EVA.....Shalom dear one Shalom !!!! My you-tube acct experienced a loss of SO MANY of my saved "channels" or friends and I thought I lost you forever! I ADORE your discovery of this wonderful planet we GET to experience and as a disabled woman who can no longer do what you do in body - I once again GET to experience a kindred heart traveling along WITH YOU.....It so often feels as though I am right there beside you with your phenomenal gift of expression making each video a treasure!!! I hope to never loose track of you again sister-in-spirit!!! You are such a blessing in my life :)
A bit of a new Eva. I guess you’re right. Not the place has changed, we have changed. Thank you Eva for your intense work. You live the dream many of us are dreaming and you see things and places we all should see
Thank you so much for the video, Eva! This means influence without authority! As you said, all we can do is being cognizant about what’s going on around us and ask questions. Thanks again.
Great story as always! Keep up the good work! I hoped to hear more about why the lake is dying and what possibly could be done about it. Good that you added but if info at the end, but maybe for future could be good to go in bit more in detail if you want to go down that road. Anyway you are doing amazing job, keep on discovering and bringing us viewers along the way!
I’m thankful to you for your sharing this video with us in the reality of poverty! I’m not embarrassed or ashamed of my own poverty level many years ago and moved away from it with dignity, determination and dedication to our living standards. Many thanks!
Eva you bring such a different perspective of traveling. You are amazing in what you do and I would love to thank you for all the eye opening that you bring to humanity.
Thank you for a very informative, if not heartbreaking, video. Your transparency and detail are so important. "We're only human," but you show us how these people persist as the brilliant side of that nature.
Thank you for the wonderful stories you tell Eva! It is this humanity, kindness, and understanding that is so needed in the world. I wish you the best of luck on your travels and may you always be blessed.
Thank you for educating and exposing us to the many and diverse cultures on our dear Mother Earth. May we all make a concerted effort to respect and appreciate our differences; instead of using them to undermine, disrespect, and enslave others for selfish materialistic gain. Lotsa love from Cape Town, South Africa.
Eva I was happy to see you back in Pakistan and wish you would travel back here longterm as your journey and previous vlogs on Pakistan were just the best! I am from UK and have made Pakistan my home and you are the only person to showcase the diversity, history and beauty of this true culture! Thank you sister for coming here and creating beautiful videos. Hope to see you back in the future!
I like your videos. Thank you for the lovely work. Please stay away from all types of drugs because we want to see you enjoying life with health and happiness. Take care.

Eva 🛶 Would you please tell me where their activation is because I intend to go there too? I also have a small youtube channel
Yeah there are chances. Govt. is making new policies right this time but as all know it takes time

Financial Donations would most definitely help. They will need new homes etc. If this problem isn't fixed.
