To my mind, Strangers in the night is one of the best songs by Sinatra ever. Available with lyrics. I do not own any right to this song. ---- Hope you have fun:)
When I was five my father always put this song, and we danced together, I called this song "daddy night". Now my dad is passed away but when I listen to this song I go back, when we danced together...
broooo you can feel his music within your soul, it is so beautiful i can not explain, all these singers today just talk, but the emotion and emphatic tone Sinatra uses really creates such a beauty that separates him self from everyone else
Was in NY, in a club, when he died, they stopped the music, and played Strangers in the night, New York, New York and My way, it was amazing, RIP Frank 💖💖
For your information the song is actually a Croatian song called "Stranci u Noci" written by Ivo Robic, it was stolen by Frank Sinatra, typical Italian, just like they are trying to sell Marco Polo as an Italian, when in fact he is a Croatian, born in Croatia to Croatian parents, his real surname being Pilic, Marko Pilic not Marco Polo
Frank Sinatra's music was a big influence for me. The first time I heard this song I knew it had to be my wedding song. Thank God my husband liked this song. Wouldn't want to share this special song with anyone else but him.
May I listen to Mack the knife Ella frizgerard yes is it possible to to request a Ella Fitzgerald Mack the Knife and I tried to get it but it just has albums I need to list is it possible that you can just play it for me my gosh
This song came on my pandora today and I hadn't heard it in years. It reminded me of my dad who passed away a year ago, who used to love Sinatra. So thankful for music and the memories it brings with it.
The first thing I think of when I hear this song is my Uncle Phil. He thought it was the greatest song ever and I remember him telling me so like it was yesterday. That's the magic of music. This was Sinatra in his later years. You can hear the difference in his voice - it's much deeper. This was the first hearing his voice this way. It continued with My Way, That's Life, etc... I was raised on Sinatra, being a child of the '60's from an Italian family. Plus, my Dad was a music connoisseur and amateur drummer who organized a jazz trio that rehearsed in our living room and actually got gigs playing in local clubs and for parties. Because of all that, and maybe because I had an aptitude for it, I developed a very keen 'ear'. I later used that skill to become a music publisher in the late 80s-90s, but that's another story. As I'm listening to a bunch of these Sinatra songs on You Tube, I'm amazed by the clarity of the digital reproductions. Being a long time fan, I know that Sinatra was known as the 'one take wonder'. He never did overdubs and he very often recorded his vocals with the orchestra. Therefore, being able to take 'tracks' apart and enhance them would be nearly impossible. But, these tracks were obviously enhanced in a way that it's possible to hear how amazingly perfect those musicians were!! The way they came together to create such beautiful music, and for Sinatra to add his vocals with them - not on top of them, but totally with them, was pure magic! It's up to all of us watching these videos and reminiscing, to take it one step further. We need to make sure that this music never dies! Play it loud and proud for your kids! Hell, they force us to listen to their music (and, as a music lover, I do and I like some of it), but they need to know about what came before!!! I was a teen in the 70s - so Led Zepplin, ELP, Yes, Genesis, etc, etc, will always be a big part of my past. But, because of my parents, Sinatra, Ella, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, etc, is equally a part of my past. I have a very rich musical past. I'm making sure my kids have the same. No great art is ever old or out-dated!!! Rembrandt, Renoir, Picasso, etc. will never be 'outdated', even though a lot of us don't get it or even like it. Music is art and should be treated with the same respect.
Karen Berino One of the nicest comments I've ever come across. Your's was the truly gifted generation who had the riches of Frank Sinatra and other such legends.
This song has been sung by pretty much everyone in music, you can tell no one comes close to the gravitas, the passion and the life sinatra puts into this. As a crooner no one can touch him, hes in his own level
This song reminds me of my crush because he sang this at our school and one time on our choir trip his friends played this song and when the lyrics say 'exchanging glances' he looked at me at the same time and my friends saw him looking at me and told what if he likes you too? 😍💖 Thinking of that moment gives me butterflies..
Love this song. Loved Frank. His was the greatest voice I have ever heard - there will Never be another one like him. His voice is the only one that can literally make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Cheers to you Frank, and thanks for leaving your music behind for us all to enjoy for the rest of our lives..
Rich Bailey someone who has a beautiful voice and can do the crooner style like Sinatra is Brendon Urie look up his covers of frank Sinatra! They’re gorgeous and I’ve come to love him. Death of a bachelor and impossible year (two of his songs) give off the best Sinatra vibes. And to top it off he has one of the widest range and talent in our generation. I really suggest you check him out!!!
Check out Romances with Luis Miguel. He also recorders a duet with Frankie Blue eyes. Only latinamerican artist to have that privilege BTW, the duo with Frank Sinatra is Come Fly with Me
I heard this song on a party in my friend's home and instantly fell in love with it. heard it more than 50 time, it soo soothing and mesmerizing!!!! love it. R.I.P Sinatra.
Actually I discovered Frank Sinatra while in college (2015). The first song I heard by him was "Fly Me to the Moon" & I was intrigued. In 2016, I made it my goal to memorize several of his songs to sing while driving.😊 I'm an old school in a young body 🤭

My mom used to hum this when I was little. No words just the tune. I'm so glad I've found this. Had no idea the words, but now I can get it out of my head.
Both my grandparents passed over the last 3 months, they raised me, adored frank. And it’s about the first time I’ve been able to get through a song since they’ve left. Rest easy angels 🙏🇮🇪
amber sharma Nobody knows this song wrote and composed Croatian singer Ivo Robich 1966 !! Frank sung this song a year later and get the Grammy, after all this everything is history, Strangers In The Night will be evergreen for all times !! Regards from Croatia, Europe, Sanda.....
Frank Sinatra always put me in a good mood...this is what quality music does Thanks for the words! I'll be using this with my English pronunciation class tomorrow!
I met my future wife, *****, at a party at Stanford. Was instantaneously in love of her eyes and her smile. We danced... And the rest, as they say, is history. She's my eternal love. I love her so much. This song made me shed a tear.
here in Jordan there are many people who is insane with Frank Sinatra's songs .. his songs are so soft , incredible and so touching .. !! i am in love with this amazing person
I was singing the few words i know of this song to my 1 year old daughter as i carried her. I pulled out my phone and this video put her right to sleep. Thanks Frank
I want to thank my parents for raising me with great old songs like this. I was born in 2001 and my mom used to sing this kind of songs. Frank Sinatra, Engelbert Humperdink, Andy Williams and many more. I have nothing to tell about my parent's love story but I just want to say that great songs like this are what keep me going forward, facing life ._. I know this might sounds cringe and all but it's true. Whenever something happens, something that might lead me to do things I shouldn't do, I'll always distract myself with these old songs, to remind me that there are still good things out there waiting for me. My mom, she was born in the 60s, always sing to cheer herself while cooking or cleaning. I know the reason why. Our life is very rough. Everything comes unexpected. one thing after another. life is never easy. My mom sometimes express her feelings with songs. I think, only I knew when she is sad and when she is happy. We both share the same interest. As I grew up, I just want to impress my mom with my knowledge of old songs because I know she will be happy watching her child somewhat follow her hobby, her passion. My friends always asked me why I love listening to 'old, boomer songs' I would say *'I dont know.'* it's because I know if I explain to them how gold all these songs are, they won't understand. So I wish to keep on listening and raise my children with them if I can. typing this is really exhausting as every sad memories came running inside my head. stay safe everyone and remember, things happen for a reason. ! :)
Exactly Veroonics! That's Frank Sinatra's Best Song Ever! That is what He is known for! Even though He has many other Great Songs as well!! Thanks for sharing!✌👍
Frank Sinatra always put me in a good mood...this is what quality music does I think this came out in 1966 when Frank was 50. Amazing. This is a true love song. Not all these rap songs about sex. People need to figure that out
Love was never easy and life was never simple. It's an illusion -- we love the idea of being born in the wrong generation and would obviously prefer when it was all harmony. But it never was. The thought is definitely appealing though. I do feel like people these days tend to be more choosy and less flexbile in relationships and that saddens me.
Everybody's dream song, too few experience it. However, the song paints a picture in our minds almost like it was happening, as the lyrics capture that moment of bliss and then that first kiss. Falling in love is one of the God given, greatest joys of life. It was even more so back in the day when we had to wait to consummate our love, making it even more special.
My favorite song of 1966 and the top hit of that year. Reminds me of our senior high school dance party and the girl I danced with to this song over and over again.
I first learnt this song on the violin like 8 years ago and back then i didnt even know Frank Sinatra existed . The tune hasn't crossed my mind for a very long time and this is the first time I'm actually listening to the original version
My ex-husband died yesterday. We met when this song came out and it was our song. We couldn’t live together but our love for each other never ended. Rest easy darling.
This man was my dads favourite singer. He adored the fella. Listening to ole blue eyes singing here? I understand now why my dad did like him so,(psst! he really was that good huh). Tc now
I heard this song at the mall and fell in love with the song. I knew it was Frank Sinatra singing, because his voice is so recognizable. I had to search for this song on UA-cam and here I am :)
A good tune. Legendary voice, great lyrics pure and innocent that give you goosebumps. Back in the old days...what happend to music. Rip franky, youre the best
Happy Anniversary, Mommy and Daddy. April 12, 2018. I love and miss you so much! Rest in Sweet and Loving Peace. They loved Frank Sinatra. XOXO XOXO XOXO XOXO XOXO XOXO ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I remember listening to this when I was watching Licenses to Drive when Heather Graham and Corey Haim dancing on the hood of his car. Brings back so many memories even though I'm not an 80s kid haha
I added this song from Frank Sinatra to a playlist that I made on iTunes which happens to be called, "Valentine's Day melodies." 👍🏼if Tom Netherton's cover version from The Lawrence Welk Show brought you here.
I always find myself humming this song Frank Sinatra always put me in a good mood...this is what quality music does Frank Sinatra always put me in a good mood...this is what quality music does
The music of my better days...i couldn't even speak english at all...in fact i did not know the meaning of the song...all i knew that it was about love...the radio stations would play it all day long...it was a number one song...i lived in a truly multicultural setting...we listened to music in french, italian, english, portugués...spanish...i was lucky to see frank sinatra at a concert, he was about 73 years old and he could still sing amazingly...
Funny! In a parody made in a TV show from my country they sang this song, but they changed the lyrics and they said Scooby Doo bee Doo at the end hahaha!
Whoever penned those Lyrics and wrote the music to this song, deserves as much praise as the artist who sings this song. A timeless composition. I also like the lyrics to "Something stupid". One could identify with the words: the secret of a good song.
Fun fact scooby doo was named after the sound he makes near the end of the song. Frank Sinatra always put me in a good mood...this is what quality music does
Originally "Moon over Naples" music composed by Bert Kaempfert who also composed "Spanish Eyes" and a ton of other tunes. Strangers in the Night and Spanish Eyes were probably the most famous for becoming vocal pieces. From Wikipedia: Many of his tunes became better known as hits for other artists: "Strangers in the Night" (with words by Charles Singleton and Eddie Snyder)...etc. His instrumental "Moon Over Naples", when given words by Snyder, became "Spanish Eyes", originally a hit for Al Martino etc.
+DrOlds7298 Not sure but I found this at www.amoeba.com/bert-kaempfert/artist/148239/bio - extract: "In 1959 he (Kaempfert) produced “Die Gitarre und das Meer (The Guitar and the Sea)” for Freddy Quinn; it became one of the first German post war pop hits" etc. I remember it well - it was very nicely sung by Freddy and he even sung it in Afrikaans! "Die Kitaar en die see" Those were the good old days... But I am not including Sinatra as he was actually a very bad guy... See listverse.com/2014/06/07/10-strange-stories-about-frank-sinatra/ and Google for much more. Here are two more links: aangirfan.blogspot.co.za/2014/02/woody-allen-mia-farrow-mind-control.html theindustry.yuku.com/topic/869/MICHAEL-JACKSON-MK-UlTRA-SEX-SLAVE#.VjUFkCu_YlA

He made you feel, not many artists today can do that.

Frank Sinatra's music was a big influence for me. The first time I heard this song I knew it had to be my wedding song. Thank God my husband liked this song. Wouldn't want to share this special song with anyone else but him.
If I were ever married my husband would have to like Frank because a few of his choice songs would have to be on the playlist.
Words can't describe how I feel about this song. it's so cloudy, sad, deep touching your soul.LOVE IT

I always loved this song. It takes me back to the 1960's. I always listened to this song on my little transistor radio back in the day.
Me too, always been a favourite of mine. Love his voice and the music evokes such wonderful memories of my childhood.

Strangers in the night
Exchanging glances
Wandering in the night
What were the chances
We'd be sharing love
Before the night was through?
Something in your eyes
Was so inviting
Something in your smile
Was so exciting
Something in my heart told me I must have you
Strangers in the night, two lonely people
We were strangers in the night
Up to the moment when we said our first hello
Little did we know
Love was just a glance away, a warm embracing dance away
And ever since that night
We've been together
Lovers at first sight
In love forever
It turned out so right
For strangers in the night
Love was just a glance away, a warm embracing dance away
Ever since that night
We've been together
Lovers at first sight
In love forever
It turned out so right
For strangers in the night
Doo-bee-doo-bee-doo
Doo-doo-dee-dah
Dah-dah-dah-dah-dah, ya-ya-ya
First impression of a stranger is a shame
Stranger not strange our DNA 90% same
Stranger need not be stranger as I do claim
A stranger just may have your family name
Strange that in the night Lovers they became

I added this song from Frank Sinatra to a playlist that I made on iTunes which happens to be called, "Valentine's Day melodies." 👍🏼if Tom Netherton's cover version from The Lawrence Welk Show brought you here.

Fun fact scooby doo was named after the sound he makes near the end of the song.
Scooby Dooby Doo, Sherlock.
He is right.
4th Dimensional Bubble for real?
Funny! In a parody made in a TV show from my country they sang this song, but they changed the lyrics and they said Scooby Doo bee Doo at the end hahaha!

Born in 1979, but this song squeezes my heart.

Glen Campbell is playing guitar on this masterpiece a true genius on guitar R.I.P. Glen!
Frank Sinatra always put me in a good mood...this is what quality music does
today is his aniversary 70, he is my favorite singer! thanks sinatra. I´m 36 years old.
Originally "Moon over Naples" music composed by Bert Kaempfert who also composed "Spanish Eyes" and a ton of other tunes. Strangers in the Night and Spanish Eyes were probably the most famous for becoming vocal pieces.
From Wikipedia:
Many of his tunes became better known as hits for other artists:
"Strangers in the Night" (with words by Charles Singleton and Eddie Snyder)...etc.
His instrumental "Moon Over Naples", when given words by Snyder, became "Spanish Eyes", originally a hit for Al Martino etc.
+Leon Mare "Spanish Eyes" I think was first a hit for a guy named Freddie Quinn, he was/is a popular singer in Germany? (And it 'was' in English?)
